  1. Had this happen when i bought Little Tommy about 15 years ago - got stung badly on import tax but opened the box and found it stiffened with clean r&b 45s - copies of Randy Hobbs, Judy Clay on Ember and Willie Harper.
  2. Totally gutted just missed a copy of this... If anyone has a cop yfor sale would love a chance to snag one. Thanks, J
  3. F*cking ridiculous - in terms of quality it's never 1800 quids worth of soul - overplayed and boring.
  4. Are we talking about the Goldspot release? If so pretty sure this is the 1971 original QCA pressed first issue, with GAR following on. The lowdown from Kenny's own mouth can be found here: https://www.shakeitrecords.com/cincinnatisoulspectrum/smith/index.html Also: And I've also spoken with quite a few collectors about this who've all confirmed the same. You can hear it differs as it's rawer than the later GAR cut. Cheers, J
  5. £300 'Why' on Florentine £1-1.5k on Aljon. I might be out but that was my understanding. Aljon super tough 45 to find.
  6. Amazing artist - very sad
  7. Seconded, many thanks Chalky much appreciated here too And Dean of course for making these shows so much fun to listen to
  8. Pretty sure this isn't a Jamaican record - it's from Georgia... just has an unusual beat for a US soul record. https://www.discogs.com/label/526451-Mars-La-Tour
  9. We tracked the band and family down too about a year ago. Really lovely people. As Kris states - 100% different crew.
  10. Cringe! What a shame. Can't imagine who might of said that to her... If people aren't taking the piss and enjoying it who the f*ck is anyone else to tell them to leave a dancefloor. Grow up and get over yourself!
  11. How many copies that we know of now? 3-4 including this?
  12. The surfaceof the label has that funny texture you get on modern records - as Steve points out sort of swirly. Moody f*ckers trying it on again.
  13. Cor that clara is so good
  14. beautiful record!
  15. Inspirational talent! An artist in the highest sense of the word!
  16. My flatmate is quite friendly with Steve Ellis and said he's a really nice bloke. I've loved Everlasting Love ever since i was a small child, such a fantastic peice of music. Think the guys have done a really nice job with this new effort - great hook in it.
  17. anyone got a soundflile for the preachers? thanks!
