  1. Great video, really enjoyable to see. It took me back to those days. Those were proper allnighters, running to 8am in the morning! Not like so called allnighters now that end at 3.30am.
  2. I'm not sure how rare the small print variant is, but it seems to crop up slightly less than the large print copies. But I don't think there is much difference in rarity. Nevertheless I do think the large print design looks better!
  3. Two great sides. Super soulful crossover Northern Soul mid tempo dancer. Very nice Excellent condition. £125 plus £8.50 fully insured postage.
  4. For Valentines day, if you want to get lovey dovey, "I Love You More Today Than Yesterday, But Not Half As Much As Tomorrow"- Spiral Staircase - Columbia.
  5. What a waste! Imagine all the great unissued tracks in the Decca archives! Just like the RCA stuff on the Kent cd's
  6. SOLD. Original first issue with the cream label early design. £200 + £8.50 fully insured postage. Paypal f&f or bank transfer. Condition is a top Mint-
  7. That Sweet Breeze thing is a nice soul record, but why that price? £3616.00. Sort of thing that would have been lucky to sell back in the day! Is it really worth two original copies of Daybreak? Ted Taylor way overpriced! The High Numbers - Zoot Suite ? It looks like a lot of these quirky records are going for big money and traditional good sellers are not making as much or keeping the interest that they did! Well that's how it looks to me but I suppose trends and interest change over time. But overall I still think Manship is getting great prices compared to most other sellers
  8. Wow, brilliant set of records.Great.
  9. Ohh threatening talk! This is a site for opinions and this topic asked for opinions on couples ballroom dancing together at Northern Soul events. That was my opinion and it was not personal to you or anyone in particular, so I don't think it should sink down to the level of threats!
  10. As a traditional Northern Soul fan I think it's a divvy thing to ballroom dance together in couples, at Northern Soul events! But then these people can't have much respect for Northern Soul to do it! I was at an alldayer and some couples, who were into Ballroom dancing, did there ballroom rehearsed routines all day long. It did not matter which record was playing! It spoils the dance floor atmosphere, nearly as bad as having young kids clowning about on the dance floor!
  11. Great double sided crossover quality sound. Condition is Ex. £150 plus £8 fully insured postage.
  12. On an interview Lorraine Chandler said she had them repressed, but the repress did not have the ARCHER stamp. See picture with view of the rare first issue original stamp. But if people want to pretend the reissues or counterfeits are originals then that's up to them!
  13. Great double sided crossover quality sound. Condition is Ex. £150 plus £8 fully insured postage.
  14. A lot of the time, once it got later than 4 or 5 o'clock there was no one on the door. People where coming and going after that time unchecked. It seemed to me they had made their money for that night, so weren't bothered about hanging around for the dribs and drabs after that.
  15. If it has not got the raised numbers under the label, how do you know if it's an original?
  16. Yes there are some red and white label issue copies that look very original, but don't appear to have the raised letters under the label. And also as Happy Feet mentions, the modern day lookalike. The 70's boot was a mid green label pressed on styrene. Or the speeded up version credited to Moses Smith on a dark green Sandbag label.
  17. The Prophets was the original recording on US Smash/ UK Mercury. It was remade a few years later by Philly legend Bobby Martin and credited to the Creation. This was on US Eric records/UK Stateside. I think both are great versions of this very Northern and exciting production.
  18. This seems to be the normal manner for USA record shop owners.
  19. Original first issue with the correct ARCHER stamp. The copies without the large ARCHER stamp at all, are legal reissues repressed a short while after the original release, in the USA by the label owners. It still has the 3 w's scratched in the runout, but by then they had stopped using the large ARCHER stamp. Soul Bowl records had this repress in quality for their lists back in the late 1970's early 1980's. The copies with the downhill sloping, small letter archer stamps are counterfeits.
  20. That's how I remember it. That Las Vegas guy is well known, I just can't remember his name. He also used to sell those boots of "Love Slipped Through My Fingers" by Towanda Barnes. He had those Kissi Jacob's boots as well on Blackjack. Some of his sales were definite originals but he had a lot of remakes/boots. He had Frederick Hymes III on Fab Vegas. Never sure about those because he seemed to have them listed regularly for under $100. Although that was before it was really getting talked about very much or played out.
  21. Valtone 105 "Some Good In Everything Bad" by The Fabulous Apollos is a great record. Using the same backing track to "The One Alone" it is a very worthwhile release! I.M.O.
  22. I don't think any more have been found. The price isn't falling it's been steady at about £700 for most copies sold lately. The one I have for sale is mint condition and it came from USA when "helpmethroughcollege" on ebay was selling some for his relation who had them since the 1960's. This was about 12 years ago. Since I first listed my original John Manship, Man from Soul and Darren Brown have all sold copies for £700+ and they were not listed as good condition as mine, which is a bit frustrating! I think these copies came out of collections.
  23. Yes I'm thinking of changing my name by deed poll to John Manship!. It seems it's the only way to get a good price for selling a record!
  24. Rare Original first Issue 45. £700 including fully insured post. Condition is an immaculate Mint- Looks spotless and plays great. Sold.
  25. The "7 Miles Per Hour Band" is a one Richard Searling used to play in the 80's. I bought a 7" 45rpm copy then from John Anderson at Soul Bowl. Turned out to be a rare record and one that's hardly ever seen for sale. The 45rpm is a shorter time than this sound clip I found on you tube.
