Green tmg’s
From the start of the UK Tamla Motown label the demos where white with a red A. The issues where the familiar black label. Then as Woodbutcher says, they changed the demo design to a green label with a white A in 1966. The issues remained a black label. A UK label expert will be able to tell you what label number they where up to when they changed the demo design.

Discrepencies on recordings that shouldn't be there
Yes it does, I've noticed that. It's a great record for most of it's running time, but I have always thought it seems to lose it's way towards the end!

Shirrelles
Hopefully yes, as "Nobody's Gonna Love You" is a great record. Especially for the Northern Soul fraternity👍

WHAT ARE THE BIGGEST 'MODERN' NIGHTER SOUNDS?
Yes it's a known tune. I had a copy from the Soul Bowl back in the 1980's. It used to be on his Detroit catalogue. The other side is ok as well, if my memory serves me correctly.

Eddie Parker....Love you Baby
Looks like the pen written dates on all three copies pictured are by the same person! Someone who is handy with a black marker pen! Anyone known a handwriting expert?😊

Eddie Parker....Love you Baby
I would think that the very first time this record was pressed was the large Archer stamped white demo, then it stands to reason that the first issues to be pressed would be the large Archer stamped issues at the same pressing plant. Then when they needed more pressed up a little later, they have gone elsewhere to get the non-archer stamped records pressed.

Eddie Parker....Love you Baby
This picture shows the first press, and it's the same as the white demo! Also it has the right vinyl profile on the outer edge, different from the counterfeit with the fake archer stamp. I am now starting to think that the Nashville press is still part of the original release effort.

SOUL BROTHERS INC TEARDROPS
Yes and lately another USA seller has had many mint Swan white demo's of Janice Christian "It's Just A Bad Thing" for auction. They are all still selling the going rate.

SOUL BROTHERS INC TEARDROPS
Good idea, but it needs a time limit. Most records have been found in quantity at one time or another! In the 1970's/80's John Anderson at the Soul Bowl was bringing back multiple quantities of records, that are now going for silly money! Maybe only records found in quantity in the last 5 years onwards?

WHAT ARE THE BIGGEST 'MODERN' NIGHTER SOUNDS?
Good topic but maybe best to ask just for listings of titles and artists, and not get bogged down with youtube sound clips!

Would Soul Sam have dropped this?
This sort of record would have fitted into the so called Jazz/ Funk scene that developed in the very late 1970's early 80's. I remember Colin Curtis playing nothing but 12" singles of Jazz/funk. I never hear the term Jazz/ Funk anymore, does it still exist?

Killer Northern Rarities and Obscurities
I think it could of been Roger Banks who used to play the "The Lively Ones" by Brooks O'Dell in his dj set. That would of been in the late 80's early 90's when I heard him feature it. Also I remember "Standing Tall" getting played at the Winsford allnighters about that time as well.

Video: The Ritz Manchester - Rarest Of The Rare Allnighter 1994
I went to nearly all of these Ritz Manchester allnighters in the 1990's and really enjoyed them all. Just about as good as it gets! Well done Mr Searling for putting them on💫

3 Before 8 - Correct Order
Yes for a while Gerri Granger was the 4th before 8. Gerri Granger "I Go To Pieces" then the usual three.
-
3 Before 8 - Correct Order
Yes that's right. There was sometimes really four before eight as "I Go To Pieces" - Gerri Granger was added later on. It was always an emotional and atmospheric moment when they used to play them on a Sunday morning at the end of a busy all nighter💫.

FTMNTC 15th June 2024
Great set of records on that playlist from Phil Wainwrights dj spot. I wish more event reviews would list some of the records played like you have done Kev. It gives a better idea of what the event was like.
