Ballad’s - I Can’t See Your Love (Wee) Vg++ £300 An actual copy of the ‘impossible to find 988 42nd Street, Oakland addressed local issue’ not my words, but those of none other than John Manship when he auctioned the ‘Bunky’s Pick’ Chicago addressed variant around 7 or 8 years ago. Since then this Cali vocal group stormer has risen in demand and price with VJ copies regularly changing hands for £250 +. A very rare item in close to Ex condition! https://youtu.be/B7K0c47UMw8 PayPal as friends and family or add 4%. Postage UK £8 registered and insured, Europe £8.95 tracked and signed. USA £12.95 tracked. DM or email gspluck@aol.com to reserve or for more information. Please note I do not hold records for more than 12 hours unless agreed in advance by DM. Glories - No News (Date WD) Mint- £60 How is this not massive? Rarity? It isn’t a common record by any means. Whatever the answer one thing’s for sure, this is a bomb. Just starting to get plays thanks to Paul Vine. Storming funk edged girl group dancer that will be a future big ticket item. https://youtu.be/a0cz8J57L3o Supreme Travelers - Death Shakes Frame (Gospel Master) Mint- £50 Still not made it to the masses but when it does it’ll be a three figure record. A Greg Belson and Michelle Coco spin that’s as good as any of the big ticket gospel funk 45s. Hard one too as pretty much all copies dried up after I listed my last copy! https://youtu.be/aISlpr-SO9c The New Philharmonic Rhythm and Blues Expansion - Yesterday’s Dream (Raynard) Ex £30 Wins the award for the longest group name ever! Left field garage funk dancer that’s appearing on the playlists of one or two of the more upfront DJs. Not on YouTube so clip is from this copy. https://youtu.be/_Qa34ZdQXCk PayPal as friends and family or add 5%. Postage UK £3.50 registered and insured, £1.85 standard first class, £7.50 special delivery. Europe £8.95 tracked and signed. USA £12.95 signed and tracked. Lloyd Williams - I’m Still In Love With You (Supreme w/lbl) Vg++ £150 Jamaican white label press of this killer lowrider/crossover/Carib soul in demander. Presumably released prior to the Studio One release and like the black/silver and blue/white variants this is the no strings (and for my money better) take. Stupidly rare in this format, especially in clean condition (like most JA presses they are mostly wrecked), this one is Vg++ and plays beautifully (sound file from actual record below). https://youtu.be/xBM-4JNJ1i8 PayPal as friends and family or add 5%. Del Capris - Our Love (Silver Dollar) Vg+ (couple light clicks on intro to ‘Our Love’ sound file on YouTube channel) £200 Sold Under the radar mega rarity lowrider (0 ownership on Discogs and only sold once, one copy available from Moerer at £375) and what an absolute beauty, killer early 70s group harmony ballad one side, flip it and you have a funk edged bomb that has yet to be discovered- perfect for the more progressive, upfront DJs and collectors. This won’t hang around, don’t sleep. https://youtu.be/6p_IzzUA7Oo https://youtu.be/_SlAjKu8qYA Ex Saveyons - Where Do I Go From Here/Running Wild Ex £150 Double sided dynamite! With George Blackwell and Robert Banks on the credits your pretty much guaranteed quality. Top side is another example of group harmony lowrider brilliance, flip it for a marvellous piece of funky crossover that’s been on the better playlists for some years now. Gorgeous copy. https://youtu.be/GuRUfVXFPZc https://youtu.be/3RqZ4oXedhA Milton Floyd - I’m A Shadow/Anyway I Can (RIM) Ex WOL (see image) £125 Much like the above with two incredible sides that will appeal to different scenes/collectors. ‘Shadow’ is a monster sweet soul/lowrider cut with prices rising significantly in recent years due to increasing demand. Flip is a funky edged dancer that seems to have been ignored by many and sounds dead right for now. https://youtu.be/32_cUGL12mA https://youtu.be/XBlW2S7_b9o PayPal as friends and family or add 5%. Shades of Sound - Dear Baby (Stone Lady) Vg++ (a few light marks only, some tape residue on label see image) £120 Sold Monster rare, under the radar, funky edged banger that’s had some exposure in Europe thanks to Andreas Beraha and is finally getting some action thanks to some of the more forward thinking DJs and events in the UK (Rhythm, Soul & Funk for one). Fewer than 10 copies have gone through eBay and Discogs and my last copy flew out at £150 (this is slightly cheaper due to tape residue on label and slightly lower grade vinyl, but plays as well as the last one). Rarity alone should make this a £300 record and once word gets out price can only rise. https://youtu.be/dy-ejlXCPsg Tony Owens - I’ll Be There/Wishing, Hoping, Waiting (Soulin’) Ex WOL (see image) £150 Double sided dynamite and his best by a country mile. ‘Wishing’ is a simply stunning lower ballad that just oozes class and is quite rightly in high demand stateside. Flip it for under the radar, underplayed in your face, aggro soul that’s been getting plays thanks to Samuel Hugosson. These don’t come to market often and even more rarely in nice clean condition like this one, a tiny piece of biro on label being it’s only blemish (why do so many of these have the biro on label?). https://youtu.be/27RtThNTPYU https://youtu.be/Xmhqp4Fg72w PayPal as friends and family or add 4%. Lovations - (I Keep Singing) La La La Ooh/Heaven Told Me So (Part 111) Vg+ (tiny SOL see image) £350 Currently one of THE hottest lowrider 45s with demand from all corners of the globe and rightly so. Double sided dynamite, top drawer, hypnotic, lowrider one side, flip it for a slab of classy girl group northern with plenty of mileage left in it. So, so hard to find now and the price has been rising in leaps and bounds and shows no sign of slowing down. My last copy flew out at £350 doubt if it’ll be seen at under £400 again. Don’t sleep. https://youtu.be/hJ3KxiIOwCE https://youtu.be/xgiI_LAScug PayPal as friends and family or add 4%. Postage UK £8 registered and insured, Europe £8.95 tracked and signed. Vonciel Myers with The Gaynote Band and Chorus - It Won’t Be Easy (Gaynote) Mint- £325 Wow! Stunning copy of this long term rarity - booked at £600 some years ago but a few have surfaced since then; however, do not let that fool you it is still a very rare 45 (think Clara Hardy/Betty Loyd etc. lots of copies at one time all now in collections and prices almost where they were at height of demand/rarity). Last three on Discogs went £350 each and demand is increasingly now from across the pond with the lowrider collectors - expect the value on this to rise steeply. Don’t sleep! You won’t see another in this condition for under £350 any time soon. https://youtu.be/S5tbbBXNXzo PayPal as friends and family or add 4%. Tony Owens - Wishing, Waiting, Hoping/I’ll Be There (Soulin’) Ex WOL (see image) £200 Double sided dynamite and his best by a country mile. ‘Wishing’ is a simply stunning lower ballad that just oozes class and is quite rightly in high demand stateside. Flip it for under the radar, underplayed in your face, aggro soul that really should be a monster (had some plays in Europe and I think Ted Massey plays this out from time to time). These don’t come to market often and even more rarely in nice clean condition like this one, a tiny piece of biro on label being it’s only blemish (why do so many of these have the biro on label?). https://youtu.be/27RtThNTPYU https://youtu.be/Xmhqp4Fg72w Milton Floyd - I’m A Shadow/Anyway I Can (RIM) Ex WOL (see image) £150 Much like the above with two incredible sides that will appeal to different scenes/collectors. ‘Shadow’ is a monster sweet soul spin on the lower circuit and prices have been rising on this significantly in recent years due to increasing demand. Lowrider heaven with plenty of crossover appeal. Won’t stay this price for long that’s for sure. https://youtu.be/_KaNAkPKQQ0 PayPal as friends and family or add 5%. The Steelers - Crying Bitter Tears (Glow Star) Ex £150 Chicago group harmony heaven. A lowrider gem that is still under the radar by comparison to many others but is easily as good as any of the current in demanders and significantly rarer. First issue before being picked up by Al Benson’s Crash label as the flip to their northern monster ‘Just Beginning To Love You’. Notoriously hard to find in decent condition, this one is close to mint- with clean and shiny labels! https://youtu.be/1D4a1S4SR-A The Desires - Oh What A Lonely Night / Black Girl (Starville) Mint- £100 Flawless copy of this gorgeous double sided in demander. Prices still rising on this and decent copies drying up with demand going crazy, last copy I had was snapped up before I’d listed it. Don’t sleep. https://youtu.be/Gdnm7Dbouqg https://youtu.be/IeVCr-mIxFo Pendulum Swingers - Never Should Have Loved You Baby (Pendulum) Vg+ (lots of hairlines but plays well, sound clip below) £30 Something of a collectors 45 this one and highly regarded (was a Butch tip I believe some years ago). Fabulous mid tempo group harmony/sweet soul cut that is damn near impossible to find in playable condition (almost every copy I’ve ever come across has been beat), this one has a fair few hairlines but plays strong Vg+. https://youtu.be/lRUh5qgAgo8 PayPal as friends and family or add 5%. Rosie Lopez - I’ll Never Grow Tired/ Too Hot To Hold (Pulsar WD) WOL (name in ink see image) Ex £225 Double sided sister soul dynamite! Top side is a massive lowrider in demander that is so rarely offered for sale (check it’s Discogs entry: Have 26; Want 648). Still under the radar in the UK (?) what price when collectors here cotton on to one or both sides? ‘Too Hot’ is funky edged dancer from the prolific pen of Simpson, Ashford and Armstead, a stamp of quality that lives up to and exceeds expectations, sounds bang on for now and is still under the radar. This one will be £350 + in 12 months time. https://youtu.be/kFdRrDQOIyA https://youtu.be/6xj8GwXLAvM PayPal as friends and family or add 5%. Lou Etta Terry Singers of Buffalo New York - Who Do You Turn To (Designer) Mint- £200 Sold From the highly collectable and prolific, albeit scarce, Designer label out of Memphis comes this fabulous dance floor destroyer. Lo-fi, funky edged gospel soul that’s been a popular play for some of Europe’s finest in recent years. Was a £400 record at one point and although it’s price has dropped it remains a very hard to find 45. https://youtu.be/0ZiNE25bw1g Shades of Sound - Dear Baby (Stone Lady) Mint- £150 Monster rare, under the radar, funky edged banger that’s had some exposure in Europe and is finally getting some action thanks to some of the more forward thinking DJs in the UK. Fewer than 10 copies have gone through eBay and Discogs and none to my knowledge in this sort of condition, it’s still in its company birth sleeve! Rarity alone should make this a £300 record and once word gets out price can only rise. https://youtu.be/dy-ejlXCPsg Allison and Calvin Turner - What Is This?/It’s Over Between Us (LuLu) Ex £125 Can’t afford their current biggie? Try this one then, totally under the radar banging funky edged crossover that doesn’t seem to be known beyond Europe! Flip is gorgeous lowrider 45. Two great sides, rare, and just waiting for someone to make it massive. https://youtu.be/KVwa_Em8kfg https://youtu.be/nzvG0C3Pmv4 PayPal as friends and family or add 4%. Victory Travelers - I’ve Been Changed (Courtn’) Mint- £80 Sold Gospel funk bomb out of Gene Cash’s stable. Comped on one of the Numero LPs but still seems relatively unknown. Should be massive, killer drums, heavenly (sorry) harmonies and one of the grittiest leads ever. In yer face, upfront, funky gospel soul that is bang on for now. https://youtu.be/rtPJ4rjL62g Pendulum Swingers - Never Should Have Loved You Baby (Pendulum) Vg+ (lots of hairlines but plays well, sound clip below) £35 Something of a collectors 45 this one and highly regarded (was a Butch tip I believe some years ago). Fabulous mid tempo group harmony/sweet soul cut that is damn near impossible to find in playable condition (almost every copy I’ve ever come across has been beat), this one has a fair few hairlines but plays strong Vg+. https://youtu.be/lRUh5qgAgo8 Al Reed - Sorry About That (Axe) Mint- £35 Sold Infectious, under the radar rhythm and soul dancer from ‘68, amazed this isn’t massive - perfect for DJs looking for something different. Again, hard to find in this sort of clean condition. https://youtu.be/LIh6nSAGHRY Wilton Crump - Give Your Live To Me (Olive Branch) Mint- £50 Sold Gorgeous mud 70s sweet soul that’s still somewhat under the radar on this side of the Atlantic but highly sought after in the US amongst the lowrider crowd. Not an easy pull either especially in this condition, - clean labels, clean vinyl a beauty. https://youtu.be/7G0FIGBFwrw PayPal as friends and family or add 4%. Emulations - Story Of My Life/My Christmas Tree (Emulate) Ex £400 Ridiculously rare sweet soul harmony 45 out of Cali. Issued twice (and both are like hen’s teeth) once with an uptempo flip and once with this sublime, and barely known, festive dagger. A killer double sider that is so very rarely offered for sale, almost two years since the last one on Discogs and that went for over £400. Lovely copy, not far off Mint-. Dynamic Imperious - Eyes On The Prize (Walker’s Echo) £120 Sold Jesus (no pun intended) what a bomb! Getting some turntable action from some of the more enlightened (sorry I can’t stop myself now) DJs at Rhythm Soul & Funk and others. Not an easy pull at all and this one is mint! Will be massive. https://youtu.be/0nnJ1UIPSQY Sim-Aires - Then I’ll Be Free (Song Bird) Ex WOL (see image) £100 Deep with a beat gospel group harmony that’s still under the radar. Hard one on the label too especially in this type of clean condition, some Vg copies knocking around from US dealers at £150. Only the one YouTube link so still not widely known but what a 45! https://youtu.be/Pgk8yzLbVdk Inspirational Souls - Jesus Is Going Away (Crusade) Mint- £50 Could’ve sold my last copy five times over and there were some big names hitting my inbox. Late ‘70s funky gospel modern already being played by the likes of Greg Belson and Michele Coco. Has everything needed to go big IMHO, cheap at the moment while still under the radar but then weren’t they all? https://youtu.be/ye5HF9wxloQ PayPal as friends and family or add 4%. Sophisticates- I Need You/I Can’t Stand It (Mutt) Mint- £400 Sold Big ticket lowrider grail with demand way outstripping supply has seen the price go crazy over the last couple of years. Last two mint copies in Discogs went at £425 then £450 and the last eBay copy I saw was carolinasoul’s a few months ago and that reached over £500! Double sided dynamite with its classic northern flip. Stunning copy, don’t sleep on this one. https://youtu.be/Lq_-cNe-AMU https://youtu.be/kLZcRFy4zfk J’s - Hard Cold World (Giant Step) Mint- £200 Sold Virtually unknown on both sides of the Atlantic, stunning group harmony 45 that is very, very rare. Can’t find any sales on Popsike, Discogs has seen only two copies sold and has one currently in Vg from Craig Moerer at £150, it’s only YouTube presence is the clip below and the only collector I know with a copy is Richard Gilbert. This is a stunning mint- copy, an opportunity to own an (almost) exclusive piece of group harmony heaven. https://youtu.be/40CSrxe_Iqg Wilton Crump - Give Your Live To Me (Olive Branch) Mint- £75 Gorgeous mud 70s sweet soul that’s still somewhat under the radar on this side of the Atlantic but highly sought after in the US amongst the lowrider crowd. Fred Parris and the Restless Hearts - I’ll Be Hanging On/I Can Really Satisfy (Green-Sea) Ex £300 One of THE must have lowrider group harmony 45s. Like so many other previously ignored, tape swapper and collector 45s (remember this from Stafford?) this one finally getting its time in the limelight thanks to demand from lowrider collectors. Very few records can match the impact this bomb has when it drops, price has risen steeply and shows no sign of stopping anytime soon. Lovely copy, don’t sleep. P.S. don’t ignore the group harmony dancer flip either! https://youtu.be/z4Ihnh8AaKI https://youtu.be/ByuVDqzaeUw PayPal as friends and family or add 4%. Wilton Crump - Give Your Live To Me (Olive Branch) Mint- £100 Gorgeous mud 70s sweet soul that’s still somewhat under the radar on this side of the Atlantic but highly sought after in the US amongst the lowrider crowd. Not an easy pull either especially in this condition, - clean labels, clean vinyl a beauty. https://youtu.be/drZmo3YJppM Connie McGill and The Visions - Peace Of Mind/I Can’t Live Without You (Super) Mint- £75 Sold Haunting lowrider group harmony and Connie’s best IMHO. Also released on Triode, jury I think is still out on which came first but this is by far the hardest of the two, only 3 people claim to own on Discogs and no copies have ever gone through there, Popsike lists only one copy in 15 years! The flip also received another release on the label but without ‘Peace’ as it’s flip. A rare opportunity to own a genuine rarity for little more than the value of a Triode copy. https://youtu.be/VOpgoHhRSvw https://youtu.be/_hu47ZywQgE Winstons - Color Him Father (Metromedia) Mint- £50 Little introduction necessary for this classy crossover 45, demand is on the rise and so is the price seen this listed at £75+ recently. Fabulettes - Stickin Kind Of Man/Muddy Waters (Access) Ex £250 Mega rare sister funk twofer that very very rarely shows up. Many will be familiar with ‘Muddy Waters’ one of the many great cuts that made up g the Sister Funk 2 compilation, but the flip is something else. Had some plays at the more upfront venues in the UK and Europe and should be massive, is an absolute bomb. Rarely offered for sale, with only a handful through eBay and Discogs, don’t sleep. https://youtu.be/cpI8hB5pJkQ https://youtu.be/wNlyFLLNLs8 Versatile Gents - You’ve Blown My Mind (Linco) Vg+ £75 Sold Funky edged group harmony bomb, had plays in Europe and the UK thanks to some of the more progressive thinking DJs. This one still has plenty of legs in it as I don’t think it’s ever reached the masses, sounds absolutely bang on for now. https://youtu.be/0JMl_yu-8F8 Out of Sights - I Can’t Take It/Baby You Got It (Saru) Vg (light crackle on intro but clears up quickly and plays clean thereafter listen to a clip of both sides below) £75 Sold Bargain. This one is rare as hen’s teeth, believe it or not ‘For The Rest Of My Life’ has gone through eBay almost twice as many times as this! Funky edged group soul twofer with both sides lacking exposure (rarity?) and sounding just right for now. ‘I Can’t Take It’ is probably the better known of the two sides, but ‘Baby You Got It’ shades it for me. https://youtu.be/QdOxa-rntCc https://youtu.be/jsI5rlLHRQM PayPal as friends and family or add 4%. Paul ‘Guitar Red’ Johnson with Kenneth Wells and Band - That I Love You (Kellmac) Ex £150 Exceptionally rare, under the radar, moody chugging mid tempo that’s been ignored for too long. Had some plays in Europe recently but probably held back by its rarity - look at Popsike and Discogs, only a handful of copies gone through either. If rarity was the only price factor this would/should be at least double this price. Will be a monster one day. https://youtu.be/gWO2yzJSr8E Fabulous Four - If I Knew / Everybody’s Gotta Have A Heart (Saintmo) Mint- £100 Sold Last one of these I had flew out confirming how desirable and difficult this 45 has become. Simply superb double sider, the former Stafford topside sounds like a £1,000 + record. Copies have long since disappeared into collections and this very rarely shows up anymore. Demand from lowrider collectors for both sides (check out ‘Everybody’s’ for a sublime piece of lowrider group harmony) means this can only rise and rise in value. Lovely copy. https://youtu.be/iuAkALWlYV https://youtu.be/BSgk7TCT5Bg Gino Washington - Like My Baby/I’ll Be Around (Atac) Vg* £100 No introduction necessary really, one of THE finest double siders ever. Top side of course shares its backing track with Gino’s unreleased Stafford monster ‘Rat Race’ although is far superior IMHO, a truly wonderful side from a fantastic talent. Flip it and you have an equally brilliant slab of mid tempo soul that’s seeing something of a revival appearing on a number of playlists across Europe and the UK. https://youtu.be/OdBbWH-dTk0 https://youtu.be/q-jFSCDIvHI Soul City - I Shot For The Moon (Mercury WD) Ex £75 Another fabulous group harmony double sider, top side has been In demand for some years now (seen white demos sell for £150) and still sounds bang on to my ears. Flip is lovely group harmony ballad. Double sided dynamite in lovely condition still its company birth sleeve! https://youtu.be/nbHg4mv4Qxc https://youtu.be/s164_j-Py6g PayPal as friends and family or add 4%. Performers - Nightmares/Little Angel (Sir Graham) Vg/Vg+ £180 (actually plays vg+ both sides clip from actual 45 below) Sold Mega rare, under the radar twofer here. ‘Nightmares’ is killer early ’70s funky edged crossover that is relatively unknown, flip is a gorgeous lowrider group harmony number that again is barely known. Rarity probably a reason, only a handful four through Discogs and 12 on eBay in the past 15 years. A 45 that very rarely comes to market. Don’t sleep. https://youtu.be/78cOMqeygdc https://youtu.be/tVGm-kK5KEo Fabulous Dimensions - I Can’t Take It (Sapphire) Vg ++ (one mark DNAP stopping this from being mint- hear for yourself in clip from actual 45 below) £110 Funky edged crossover group harmony of the highest order. Been gaining plays up and down the country at the more progressive venues and consequently price has risen. Rarer (?) red label variant. https://youtu.be/AE6PYijVyD0 Johnson Brothers - All Of My Life (I Dreamed Of A Castle) (Your Town) Vg+(lower end of Vg+ but plays strong clip from actual 45 below - looks off centre but is actually the label misplaced) £50 Sold A fairly recent c/up I believe for one or two of the more upfront DJs in the UK and Europe, a fabulous late 60s funky edged crossover that sounds bang on for now. Would be £150 in mint- so this really is a bit of a steal. https://youtu.be/y8i766No2wo PayPal as friends and family or add 4%. Postage UK £3.50 registered and insured, £1.85 standard first class, Europe £8.95 tracked and signed. USA £12.95 tracked and signed. DM or email gspluck@aol.com to reserve or for more information. Please note I do not hold records for more than 12 hours unless agreed in advance by DM. Thanks for your understanding.
