  1. Johnny Soul and The Manchesters - Always Hurt Her So (Dome) Vg (plays clear) £75 Absolute killer garage soul/R&B banger that really should be better known. I am convinced this had plays or was at least known at Stafford, but I’m either wrong or it’s been completely forgotten. Sounds dead right for now and make no mistake this is a hard 45 to find in any condition. https://youtu.be/Ui_zF3JhKr0 Kenny & The Kasuals - Please Don’t Leave Me (Big Add) Vg++ £75 Under the radar? Not on YouTube (clip available via DM or head over to the Groovy Garage Group on FB), it’s not unknown but seems to have escaped attention so far. Again a hard 45 to acquire and this one is nice! An exclusive for someone playing something a little more progressive. Metrix - Gonna Have To Pit You Down (Tiara) Vg (plays clean, WOL see image) £35 Another Stafford record? I’m sure it was a brief c/up for Keb but like Johnny Soul above was dropped and forgotten, until now. And it sounds bang on for now, Ignore the YouTube clip that’s been pitched down for Popcorn collectors, ask for a clip or head over to the Groovy Garage Group on FB to hear at its intended and much much better speed! A bargain. https://youtu.be/88nPG-PSqKw Magnificent (7) - In Mist And Rain/ Stubborn Kind Of Fellow (Lemco) Vg++ (light label wear) £20 Often overlooked for the ‘Stubborn’ side, but the flip is a fabulous slab of garage soul that seems totally under the radar. Another with a future for the more forward thinking DJs and collectors out there. Still cheap too! https://youtu.be/AnWYdQVW2Mg PayPal as friends and family or add 4%. Postage UK £8 special delivery registered and insured, Europe £8.95 tracked and signed. USA £12.95 tracked. DM or email gspluck@aol.com to reserve or for more information. Please note I do not hold records for more than 12 hours unless agreed in advance by DM. Thanks for your understanding.
  2. Little Tommy Payton - Once In My Life / Once Again My Girl Has Gone (Harvest) Ex £200 Mega rare kiddie soul ballad from the ‘Mountain of Soul’ man. Only recently uploaded to YouTube (the flip is decent too but has yet to be featured anywhere). Very tough 45 to acquire in any condition, nice clean copy here for what’s a relatively cheap price given this record’s rarity. https://youtu.be/sutymut9CZU Cynthia and The Imaginations - Hey Boy/Love Is Real (Blue Rock WD) Ex £200 Killer double sider! ‘Hey Boy’ is a massive in demander with low rider collectors and a gorgeous piece of female group soul. Flip it for funk edged northern with plenty of mileage left in it. Both sides have that distinctive Dale Warren production that never ever ages. Surprised this has yet to increase steeply in price like so many others of its kind, probably only a matter of time! Don’t sleep. https://youtu.be/4ZVy8DpWZqI https://youtu.be/WkkhZwylZfs Combo Juveniles - Never Leave Me Lonely (Uncle) Ex £75 Suriname sweet soul rarity with killer horns and organ. Still somewhat under the radar but starting to gain attention on both continents thanks in part to Mr818joker’s popular YouTube channel. Get it now while it’s still at an affordable price! https://youtu.be/RWQbqKqmWzo PayPal as friends and family or add 4%. Postage UK £3.50 registered and insured, £1.85 standard first class, Europe £8.95 tracked and signed. USA £12.95 tracked. DM or email gspluck@aol.com to reserve or for more information. 3. Joe Madrid and The Systems Go - She Don’t Take No (Versa) Ex £150 Garage soul bomb that’s on the playlists of one or two more progressive and enlightened DJs and on the wants lists of many others! An elusive 45 that in the U.K. is still relatively unknown. There really aren’t any copies of this around and it has all the ingredients for big things. Don’t sleep. https://youtu.be/vVo-0xlgVmQ Townsmen - Saint James Infirmary (SMAO) Mint- £75 Killer garage soul version that is for me at least the best of many. Those horns! Been on some big DJ playlists in recent years and highly rated by those in the know. Another that’s notoriously hard to find. https://youtu.be/tUKjW76dSrw One Way Street - Yard Dog (Apollo) Ex £50 Another that’s had plays in the US but I think has yet to reach these shores. A harder, rawer take than the Smash issue on a much harder to find Apollo 45 (okay it’s not Walter B and The Untouchables but it’s still a tricky find). Infectious with potential to be huge. https://youtu.be/18Hg_6GAJs4 Haunted – Come On Home (Trans World) strong Vg £30 Killer garage soul/R&B version of Jackie Edward’s ‘Come On Home’. Canadian only 45 that is listed at $150 on Discogs and believe you me it ain’t common! One I shared to the Groovy Garage group recently that’s proved pretty popular. A fair few light marks but plays Vg+ (sound clip available on request). https://youtu.be/OknkELX7l60 PayPal as friends and family or add 4%. Postage UK £3.50 registered and insured, £1.85 standard first class, Europe £8.95 tracked and signed. USA £12.95 tracked. DM or email gspluck@aol.com to reserve or for more information. 4. Blondell Breed & The Imports - When I See My Baby (Acta WD) Ex £150 Lesser known (as far as I’m aware) and pretty scarce female led group soul. Superb upbeat dancer with killer harmonies. One for those DJs looking to play something different, I’ve not seen on any playlists except Mark Garcia in the states. Proper northern to a tee and much, much harder than it’s going rate implies! https://youtu.be/WTqsJ5j5w6w PayPal as friends and family or add 4%. Postage UK £3.50 registered and insured, Europe £8.95 tracked and signed. USA £12 tracked and signed. DM or email gspluck@aol.com to reserve or for more information. 5. Delrays Inc. - My Heart Is Not A Toy/Coming Home (American Records) Vg+ £300 SOLD Killer double sided group rarity, top side is an under the radar group/lowrider grail which simply never shows up, flip it for a fantastic slab of mid tempo group R&B that is sought after in Europe by Popcorn collectors. An incredibly difficult 45 to obtain. Tiny tear on on edge of label and a strong Vg+. Don’t sleep. https://youtu.be/n4P2evlK_og https://youtu.be/TeTqUkE77LI PayPal as friends and family or add 4%. 6. N Group - Words Of Love/Keep On Running (Wes Mar) Mint- £50 Virtually unknown, killer blue-eyed lowrider ballad, my last copy went to a well known DJ in the States and once this atmospheric slab of moody garage soul gets exposure it’s price is going one way only. Flip it for a ripe for revival long forgotten former Stafford c/up, sounds bang on for now. Garage is the new Northern! https://youtu.be/uiZHPSvBiDQ https://youtu.be/jY-uUI4FgfA Wyle Dixon and The Wheels - Sad Times (Conduc) Mint- £30 Under the radar, haunting, street level sweet soul. Lowrider demand has been growing steadily with the last couple I’ve had flying out. With current prices for lowrider 45s this feels like a steal, not least because it sounds like a four figure 45! https://youtu.be/PF8VjDKvOZQ Edwards Generation - Someone Like You (Ghetto) £15 Last but by no means least, the final copy I have of this early Edwards Generation kiddie soul lowrider killer. Last three I had flew out, don’t miss out - it won’t be this cheap next time! https://youtu.be/ygE9qV74sWA Sherman - I Want It All (Celebrity) Mint- £15 Under the radar 70s sweet soul that’s currently cheap thanks to be firmly under the radar. Expect price to rise once word is out, get it now for the price of fish and chips for the family! https://youtu.be/9nHSmsPJq3c PayPal as friends and family or add 4%. 7. Johnny Soul And The J.S. Blues Bunch - Problems Pt.2/Problems Pt.1 (Don’t Make Me Beg) (Pure Love) Mint- OFFERS ABOVE £600 ‘Insanely rare’ is how this 45 is described on a leading dealers site with a price tag of £1,500. Allegedly withdrawn due to an error in labelling titles (hence the stickers that appear on some copies over ‘Pt.1’ that say ‘Don’t Make Me Beg’, although this copy is sticker free). Originally played c/up by Soul Sam 10 or more years ago, this funk edged crossover 45 has remained elusive ever since (no more than a handful have ever gone through Discogs or eBay) and the copies that are around are four figures, irrespective of condition. Here’s a chance to own a Mint- copy potentially for less N.B. Not on YouTube clip available via DM OFFERS INVITED ABOVE £600. Offers by PM or email to gspluck@aol.com. I’ll sell once I receive an acceptable offer. PayPal as friends and family or add 4%. Postage UK £3.50 registered and insured, Europe £8.95 tracked and signed. USA £12 tracked and signed. 8. Prince Charles and The Royal Tones - What I Live For/Fair Weather Friend (Onyx) Mint- £125 ***Killer Alert*** Storming, uptempo garage soul at it’s very best! Still seems under the radar but is picking up plays via Brian Maguire and Sean Pumfrett in the U.K. as well other more enlightened DJs in Europe. Flip is fantastic too. Hard to find and going to be a monster of a tune. Don’t sleep. https://youtu.be/hxzwpekMw_M https://youtu.be/58CfGq-d_go Great Train Robbery - Something’s On The Way (Give) Mint- £75 Infectious, horn driven crossover style dancer (is garage crossover a thing?). Not on YouTube so clip below, trust me you’ll be singing it after one play, lots of potential in this, seen sell at double this price. https://www.dropbox.com/s/uhknrr35ifdnksq/greattrain.mp3?dl=0 Soulmasters - When Love Is Gone (Odeon) Ex £35 German issue of this blue eyed soul U.K. rarity. Almost impossible to find on U.K. Parlophone here’s a German issue of this blue eyed soul rarity. Seems under the radar in soul circles but sounds absolutely bang on for now. https://youtu.be/PkS5oK39x-0 Dee Wonder and The Rhythm Fame - What You’ve Done (Go Go G.T.O.) strong Vg £35 The rarer of the two releases of this (the other being on Ware) and have heard mention it’s a different take (although I couldn’t tell any difference). Rumoured to have been played at Stafford and whilst it was known back then I don’t think it ever got played. Right for now? You bet it is! Killer garage soul/R&B that will surprise many and will be known by very, very few. YouTube for reference only, clip from actual 45 on request. https://youtu.be/lbCzM0HIMOE Haunted – Come On Home (Trans World) strong Vg £30 Killer garage soul/R&B version of Jackie Edward’s ‘Come On Home’. Canadian only 45 that recently went for £125 on Discogs and believe you me it ain’t common! One I shared to the Groovy Garage group recently that’s proved pretty popular, sounds bang on for now. 9. Bill Robinson & The Quails - Lay Your Head On my Shoulder/Do I Love You (Date) Ex £150 Absolute killer double sided lowrider monster. Massive demand on this has sent it sell for £250 plus in the last year! Copies have disappeared and for good reason. Two quality sides and a 45 that can only go up in price and demand. Don’t sleep. https://youtu.be/ZFZ4R9eUwM4 https://youtu.be/Jzho1VDv-MM Wyle Dixon and The Wheels - Sad Times (Conduc) Mint- £40 Under the radar, haunting, street level sweet soul. 10. Lee Williams and The Cymbals - It’s Everything About You/Please Say It Isn’t So (Carnival) Vg++ £150 In demand double sider from one the finest group harmony acts, top side is northern/crossover heaven that I never tire of hearing. Flip it for a lowrider group ballad that’s up there with some of the best. Lovely condition not far off Mint- and cheaper than anywhere else online. Be quick! https://youtu.be/aod4T3wSwZs https://youtu.be/idFD3ou5pDU Magic Tones - There Is Nothing Better Than Love/Let’s Let Our Love Roll On (Mahs multi-colour) Vg++ £150 A 45 that has disappeared completely with demand from lowrider and northern/crossover collectors alike for the topside. Whatever pigeon hole you care to choose this is just a sublime slab of 60s group harmony soul. So hard to find now in anything like decent condition, this one is super clean Vg++ https://youtu.be/VKCv3WlKPn8 https://youtu.be/BO9Mx40K2zQ N Group - Words Of Love/Keep On Running (Wes Mar) Mint- £65 Virtually unknown, killer blue-eyed lowrider ballad, my last copy went to a well known DJ in the States and once this atmospheric slab of moody garage soul gets exposure it’s price is going one way only. 11. Tommy Marks - Crazy Crazy (Zel) Vg++ £150 Crazy rare that’s for sure! Very very few copies of this have ever surfaced (one on A VERY well known dealer’s site currently at £400!), cracking northern dancer and one time Stafford spin that’s long since been forgotten/overlooked and ripe for revival by a one of the more enterprising DJs out there. Same as Little Jeanette on Green Lights. https://youtu.be/KL-RGYOIN9E PayPal as friends and family or add 4%. Postage UK £1.80 standard first class or £3.50 recorded, £8 special delivery registered and insured, Europe £8.95 tracked and signed. USA £12.95 tracked. 12. Dirty Elbows - I Love You, Girl (Solid Gold) Mint- £400 Both one of the best and rarest of Shades of Sorrow comp discoveries, an absolutely sublime slab of sweet group harmony soul. Still seems under the radar here in the U.K. but 70k views on the two or three YouTube channels tells me this has future big ticket written all over it. https://youtu.be/X2Nvx0G777o Allison & Calvin Turner - Yeah Memories (LuLu) Mint- £175 Stone cold killer lowrider. Hard on Checker, impossible on Lamp and pretty close to hen’s teeth on LuLu, check Popsike and Discogs and you’ll find very, very few LuLu copies have gone through. I’ve had two Checker copies that absolutely flew out (one to a top US collector who has a collection to die for!) that was over a year ago and I’ve seen none since. With prices going on the direction they are on sweet soul/lowrider 45s and given the rarity of this 45 I’d say £250 was a steal! Don’t sleep. https://youtu.be/mZ1m12w96k4 N Group - Words Of Love/Keep On Running (Wes Mar) Mint- £75 Virtually unknown, killer blue-eyes lowrider ballad, my last copy went to a well known DJ in the States and once this atmospheric slab of moody garage soul gets exposure it’s price is going one way only. 13. Tony Baxter - Let The Past Be The Past/Why Is It Taking So Long (Gates) Vg++ £300 Topside (for me anyway) has to be Baxter taking on George Scott’s ‘Let The Past Be The Past’, hard to pick between the two versions a sublime piece of soul that would grace anyone’s collection. Flip it for a slab of killer crossover that’s probably suffered a little from its own rarity. A very hard 45 to find and one that I’m particularly reluctant to part with. Don’t sleep. https://youtu.be/yg-6_YSyRT8 https://youtu.be/9gukoPRE_RE Five Towns - Advice (U.K. Direction) Mint- £125 One of my personal favourites from the Shades of Sorrow comps, that intro and then those horns! Amazingly this one had a U.K. release although ironically it seems as rare if not rarer than the local label US one! One that rarely shows and will only rise in value. https://youtu.be/jMdDFBtA_ME Clifford Binns - Take It From Me/You’ve Got To Help Me (Carrie Green Issue) Ex £100 Could have sold five of these in first half hour of listing my last copy so don’t think this will hang around! Impossible to find on its first issue orange label, this is now the only realistic way of owning the stunning double sider. ‘You’ve Got To Help Me’ needs little introduction from me, a classy northern classic that still packs a punch for me. The flip ‘Take It From Me’ will be less familiar to most but don’t ignore this lowrider in demander it’s every bit as good as the flip and with demand increasing for this type of sound the price is only going one way. Lovely clean copy. https://youtu.be/UhnInG-TA8A https://youtu.be/KIXFbSgPfNo PayPal as friends and family or add 4%. Copies have dried up since but this one is still very much under the radar and has enormous potential. 15. Candidates - Thinking About You Baby (North Shore) Ex £50 Funky edged group sound, very rare and obscure - seen at £150! Haunted - Come On Home (Trans-World) Strong Vg (plays clean) £50 Canadian only garage soul version of Jackie Edwards, brilliant and sounds right for now. Seen at £150 in Mint- (priced accordingly). https://youtu.be/OknkELX7l60 Cadalinas - Bad Girl (MinuteMen) Mint- £35 Might be an incredible investment, unknown (?) blue eyed lowrider style garage ballad on the wants list of a few top US collectors. 16. Monique - Truth (Maurci) Mint- OFFERS Slept on for years, the flip of the nice, albeit fairly ordinary, ‘Nobody’s Baby’, for a long, long time the poor relation of ‘If You Love Me’ and ‘Never Let Me Go’, until US collectors searching for obscure sweet soul ballads discovered ‘Truth’. Over the past 5-10 years this 45 has featured heavily on the lowrider scene, numerous uploads to those ever popular YouTube channels and subject to increasing demand. Simultaneously the market saw… well… no copies on Discogs, no copies on eBay and those that were changing hands across the pond in private sales were hitting $1700. In February a copy of the plain/lined (and more common) label variant appeared on eBay reaching over $2000! Cue a stampede of copies from the U.K.? Well, no not really a few but given the price tag you’d have expected more. Arguably as rare if not rarer than either of Monique’s other 45s and, for me at least, the finest. If you know it you will be aware of the sort of prices this 45 is changing hands for and how much harder the ‘magic hat’ variant is. This is a very, very reluctant sale but needs must, they come and they go. Condition is beautiful Mint- a couple of pressing bubbles evident (DNAP), it is important to emphasise that the vinyl used and the recording are not the best and consequently ALL copies play with some noise. Labels are like new. Sound clip and further images available on request. I will close this when and only if I receive an offer I deem acceptable. Offers by DM or email to gspluck@aol.com PayPal as friends and family or add 4%. Postage UK £8 special delivery registered and insured, Europe £8.95 tracked and signed. USA £12.95 tracked. 17. Prince Charles and The Royal Tones - What I Live For/Fair Weather Friend (Onyx) Mint- £150 ***Killer Alert*** This would have been massive at any time in the northern scene’s past and almost definitely will be in its future. Storming, uptempo garage soul at it’s very best! Still seems under the radar but is picking up plays via Brian Maguire and Sean Pumfrett in the U.K. as well other more enlightened DJs in Europe. Don’t sleep. https://youtu.be/hxzwpekMw_M https://youtu.be/58CfGq-d_go Riddles - It’s One Thing To Say (Mercury) Mint- (company sleeve) £60 One of THE hottest garage 45s in the U.K. at the moment. Have had six copies and they flew out, with plenty of disappointed enquiries thereafter (last two went via private sales to people who asked me to keep them informed). Gets former big name DJs up to the decks when it’s played too. On the way up and copies have dried up! https://youtu.be/4JQPWsKOQSc Dee Wonder and The Rhythm Fame - What You’ve Done (Go Go G.T.O.) strong Vg £50 The rarer of the two releases of this (the other being on Ware) and have heard mention it’s a different take (although I couldn’t tell any difference). Rumoured to have been played at Stafford and whilst it was known back then I don’t think it ever got played. Right for now? You bet it is! Canadian only 45 that recently went for £125 on Discogs and believe you me it ain’t common! One I shared to the Groovy Garage group recently that’s proved pretty popular, sounds bang on for now. 18. Lovations - (I Keep Singing) La La La Ooh/Heaven Told Me So (Cap City) Ex £400 Currently one of THE hottest lowrider 45s with demand from all corners of the globe and rightly so. Double sided dynamite, top drawer, hypnotic, lowrider one side, flip it for a slab of classy girl group northern with plenty of mileage left in it. So, so hard to find now with the price rising and rising. ***This is the significantly rarer first issue on Cap City (I’ve seen almost ten times the number of Part 111 copies). You won’t find a cheaper copy on Cap City (one on Discogs currently at £600). Don’t sleep. https://youtu.be/hJ3KxiIOwCE https://youtu.be/xgiI_LAScug PayPal as friends and family or add 4%. 19. Faces – I Didn’t Want Her (Regina WD) Mint- £100 Killer (blue eyed?) lowrider group harmony. Seems to be exceptionally rare given the tiny number through eBay and Discogs, pretty much totally under the radar too (except to one or two of the Popcorn collectors), but it’s recent upload to M818joker’s incredibly popular YouTube channel is likely to change that. Bargain, don’t sleep! https://youtu.be/bgwDsYqlHlw Haunted – Come On Home (Trans World) strong Vg £75 Killer garage soul/R&B version of Jackie Edward’s ‘Come On Home’. Canadian only 45 that recently went for £125 on Discogs and believe you me it ain’t common! One I shared to the Groovy Garage group recently that’s proved pretty popular, sounds bang on for now. A fair few light marks but plays Vg+ (sound clip available on request). https://youtu.be/OknkELX7l60 Cadalinas – Bad Girl (Minutemen) Mint- £50 Moody garage/lowrider style ballad that seems virtually unknown except to a few top US collectors. Appeared on two separate labels, both as ridiculously rare as each other by the look of the handful that have gone through eBay and Discogs. Picked up two copies from Europe (one so badly packaged it arrived with a hairline crack, although this one is a lovely Mint-). Could be a great investment this one as it’s rare enough to be worth four times this price! https://youtu.be/l03DTDVCLEM Cadalinas – Bad Girl (Minutement) Vg (Mint- but has hairline crack) £20 PayPal as friends and family or add 4%. Postage UK £3.50 registered and insured, £1.85 standard first class, Europe £8.95 tracked and signed. USA £12.95 tracked. DM or email gspluck@aol.com to reserve or for more information. 20. Fortson & Scott - Just A Little Step (Pzazz) Ex £225 No, not ‘Sweet Lover’ but their other - arguably rarer and better- Pzazz 45. For those looking for quality rare and underplayed northern, this is perfect. A sublime dancer with a fabulous spoken intro, how this has never been massive is a mystery. Of the three label variants this is the one I’ve seen least often but to be fair you don’t see any of these ‘often’, last one on Discogs went for £400, this one is priced to sell - be quick! https://youtu.be/1T6-ecuTQfk PayPal as friends and family or add 4%. 21. Fortson & Scott - Just A Little Step (Pzazz) Ex £275 No, not ‘Sweet Lover’ but their other - arguably rarer and better- Pzazz 45. For those looking for quality rare and underplayed northern, this is perfect a sublime dancer with a fabulous spoken intro. How this has never been massive is a mystery. Of the three label variants this is the one I be seen least often but to be fair you don’t see ANY of these ‘often’, last one on Discogs went for £400, this one is priced to sell - be quick! https://youtu.be/1T6-ecuTQfk Fabulous Four - If I Knew/Everybody’s Got To Have A Heart (Saintmo) Ex £100 Double sided dynamite! ‘Knew’ remains a criminally underplayed Stafford spin that’s become increasingly sought after in the last year or so as copies have dried up. Flip it for a gorgeous lowrider group ballad that has doubtlessly contributed to demand. https://youtu.be/3bZg3Ciy0P0 https://youtu.be/BSgk7TCT5Bg Baby Washington - It’ll Never Be Over For Me (Sue) Vg+ (slight edge warp, DNAP, and scribble on label flipside - priced accordingly) £35 Less than half book value due to a small edge warp and messy label flip! Everyone has their favourite version of this monster mid tempo killer, this is mine by a country mile. Bargain. https://youtu.be/zh46Wt04t7E PayPal as friends and family or add 4%. 22. Third Soul Trio - That’s A Natural Fact/What About This Love Affair (Cabell) strong Vg £250 This double sided obscurity is rarer than ‘Rainy Day’ and has yet to realise its enormous potential. ‘What About This Love Affair’ is fantastic group ballad that’s totally under the radar and was an old Bob A tip. Flip it for an uptempo dancer that sounds bang on for now. A very very tough 45 to find so some exclusivity is guaranteed! Strong Vg, some genre crackle on intro to the slower side which clears up, flip plays Vg+ sound clips from both sides of actual 45 available on request). https://youtu.be/PnhtDjuFBI4 https://youtu.be/HbckK4IMbCw New Trends - My Summer Love (Brooks Records) Vg+ £100 Probably not unknown but pretty sure this is still very much under the radar even in the US, just the two clips on YouTube, only once through Discogs and less than 10 through eBay. Gorgeous group ballad, rarity and obscurity assured. Lower end of Vg+ but plays well with some light crackle on intro, clip from actual 45 available on request). Seen on a few big collectors wants lists so it won’t hang around at this price! https://youtu.be/s-Sv7dleaQQ Sensations - Please Baby Please (Way Out) Vg+ (minor label wear see image) £60 Notoriously hard to find in anything above VG, so I was pretty shocked to find that despite the label wear and some light hairlines this ones in decent shape and plays well (sound clip from actual 45 available on request). Mesmerising group harmony lowrider that grips you from the opening bars. Has sold for £100 in Mint-, priced this one to sell. Don’t sleep! https://youtu.be/UotwjZq5oE8 Frank Turner and The Silver Stars - All For My Kids (Maison De Soul) Mint- £30 Monster deepie on this highly collectable label. This one’s been a collector’s favourite for some time and at the moment at a very affordable price but have seen others of this type rise steeply in value recently. Don’t pass on these while they’re cheap. https://youtu.be/tNx0cspMrpg PayPal as friends and family or add 4%. 23. Shades Of Jade - Is It Wrong/Affection (Cenco) Mint- £300 ***Sold** Guy’s old New Yorkers (?) c/up from Stafford, still a criminally under played 45 that has perhaps suffered partly from rarity. A big, big tune at Stafford at one point but with turnover of new sounds so high it didn’t get as long as it might have, reactivation well overdue IMHO. But wait … what about that flip? If ‘Wrong’ s underplayed then the flip isn’t far off virtually unknown! Stunning is all I can say and perhaps more suited to current dance floors. Perfect for those ‘rare and underplayed’ rooms no matter which side you choose. Rare one too and in what looks like unplayed condition. https://youtu.be/DxLQLSbGB60 https://youtu.be/1iqSBxSRL3k PayPal as friends and family or add 4%. 24. Carl Smith - All I Got (Anita) Mint- £150 Mega rare crossover with a delightful Smokey style vocal. Was up until recently covered as Darrow Fletcher and very few copies seem to have surfaced since. On the wants list of a few top collectors across the globe. Not on YouTube, clip available by DM. Could be massive in the right hands and is probably way too cheap given it’s current scarcity. Skeets Williams and The Merger - I Don’t Care (Commonwealth United) Mint- £75 Pick of the three for me. Funk edged crossover at its very best, had some action in Europe and the UK thanks to Henning and one or two others, but is pretty much unknown still, huge potential with this one and not on anyone’s playlists that I’ve seen. Not an easy 45 to get either! https://youtu.be/pyqujE2jNi4 Barbara George - I Got My Guards Up (Hep’Me) Mint- £25 Finally a genuine cheapie but one that appears to have gone completely unnoticed! Sister soul belter on a highly collectible label, again not on YouTube clip available by DM. PayPal as friends and family or add 4%. 25. Chosen Few - Baby Don’t Do It (BFD) Mint- £40 One of the hottest garage soul 45s around at the moment and still affordable. Being dropped by Greg Belson amongst others and copies are beginning to dry up. Won’t stay under £50 for long! https://youtu.be/bHCpf-ZDzA0 Riddles - It’s One Thing To Say (Mercury) Vg (hairline crack in styrene, some clicks otherwise would be Ex) £20 The next hottest? Have had four copies and they flew out, with plenty of disappointed enquiries thereafter. Sadly, this one has a hairline crack and is priced accordingly. Sound file available on request (YouTube for reference only) https://youtu.be/4JQPWsKOQSc Action Brass - When The Spirit Moves Me (Cartay) Mint- (pic sleeve) £25 Had plays in the past but feels right for not, seen on a few playlists so picking up interest again! Nice picture sleeve copy too. https://youtu.be/Yxz1nASeC_E Little Boy Blues - Look At The Sun (IRC) Mint- £25 Harmonica led R&B garage that’s been on Jack White’s playlist amongst others, cracking cheapie! https://youtu.be/AwE9TXK-J5Y Rock-A-Go Go’s - I’m Out To Win You Over (Flower Power) Vg- £20 Plays Vg+ looks rough plays tough, would be £40 in Mint. Killer garage soul banger that’s being dropped by Jack White, Thomas Shore and others. Bargain. https://youtu.be/RIjNYKmhd7I Berrys - Sand And Sea (Apex) Mint- £20 Hypnotic garage ballad (think Shades of Sorrow CDs/MixCloud comps.) not an easy find and moodier than missus! https://youtu.be/pMpg1Qfdgn0 Coachmen - Nothing At All (Bear) Mint- £15 Nice garage mover that seems to have escaped attention so far. https://youtu.be/wGocAyR_VrI PayPal as friends and family or add 4%.
