  1. Whats the current value of this gem? Never seen many copies of it around, yet according to Robert Pruters "Chicago Soul" book, it was a minor hit in the city, suggesting there must be plenty around?? Also love the flip "ive got another" reminds me a bit of Dusty Wilson - Tragedy Any help appreciated Gaz
  2. Yes Shep, soundclip and scan on www.aycliffesoulclub.co.uk in the record reviews. (soz for delay been away for weekend) Think this is really rare in either format, twinight or orr, wonder why it was released twice? maybe released as the mystics on orr first then the mystiques as there were already a couple of groups already called the mystics?? who knows? Another one that came from John Powneys house donkeys years ago............the other side is mid tempo group harmony magic. Gaz
  3. Mal, i have a copy of this, wasnt really thinking of selling but maybe you could persuade me, why not PM me with your best offer. Possibly consider trades. I personally prefer the other side "she's moody with her love" Gaz BTW its in beautiful M- condition, it came from John Powneys house about 20 years ago.
  4. Cheers for that Kirsty, Dukesy ive sent you an email matey. Gaz
  5. Trev I put a wanted post on here for Lee Fields about a year ago and somebody PM'd me saying they had a copy i could have for £150, my immediate reaction was "no way, its a £30 record". I wish i'd took the offer up now as i havent seen one single copy up for grabs since then and i have been very pro-active in looking. Butch playing it has'nt helped, but i still reckon its real tough to get. Another note on this one, i notice Butch is playing The Profiles - I still love you (tho it did sound like a slightly different take) So if you havent got this little gem, get it now cos i reckon it'll shoot up in price. Hands up those who got it for a fiver from Pat Bradys front page focus? Gaz
  6. Cheers Jase, ive PM,d him. Gaz

  9. Shep, i just got "Without you here" off ebay 2 weeks ago for 44 Dollars mate, you cant be looking hard enough!!!
  10. It was re-released in the late 70's /early 80's on West 102nd Street label (or something very similar ) I think Paul Mooney, who comes on here and a guy called Vince Gallagher from Aycliffe owned the rights to it and brought it out on that label. Ive got a few copies somewhere and i'll try and dig em out. I'm sure Paul will supply all the facts when he see's this thread. Hope this is of some help. Gaz
  11. Nev, Seeing as you are in a selling mood..................are you going to sell me that Fundamentals on Okeh that you beat me to on ebay the other night???? Gaz Ps, i know how much you paid for it
  12. I asked him to play it at the first lifeline weekender and he said he hadnt brought it with him, same as you Phil!! He might be saving it to re-activate it!! Hope so............. I still remember the dramatic drumroll intro........then uptempo group soul heaven!! As good as anything ive heard, i classed it in the same bracket as the Del-Larks (Mello Souls) at the time, so it must be good...................... Gaz
  13. Was the Just Brothers i think Old Butch spin from the late 80s/ early 90s Couple of questions on this? Has anyone got a soundclip/MP3 of it? Is it a cover up or an unissued job? Is it really the Just Brothers? I havent heard this for about 10 years or so (dont think Butch plays it now??) but do remember the drumroll intro and outrageously soulful vocals, fantastic tune, was my favourite record at the time. Would love to hear it again. Any help appreciated. Gaz
  14. Sincere condolences to family and friends at this sad time, Sylvia was a special girl. From all at Aycliffe soul club x
  15. What gives Shep?? You just DONT sell records like this, whether they be £1500 or £15, its top quality. Wish i could afford it.
  16. Great thread this one...... I was wondering..........just how many different TK distributed labels were there in the 70,s/80,s?? I guess by TK distributed, they must have the familiar........ "Distributed by T.K productions Inc.. 495 S.E 10th Ct. Hialeah, Florida 33010" printed around the base of the labels edge! 19. Sorry Pete but i'd rather sell my kidneys than the informers! i think my mate Baz Atkinson has been a bit presumptious by advertising my favourite records for sale on t'internet! it took me years to find it and i love both sides of it. Sorry
  20. My mate, Kev Cane (who is computer illiterate) is desperate for this and asked me to put a post on here. If anyone has a copy for sale, or knows where there might be one available, im sure Mr Cane would be eternally greatful! Please PM or email gazsimon@hotmail.com Cheers Gaz
  21. Im lucky enough to find myself in Texas the week after next, i will be in San Antonio for a couple of days then Dallas for a week! Does anybody have any tips/contacts/addresses for looking for records while im there. Unfortunately im there 2-weeks before the big show in Austin. Any help would be greatly appreciated!! Feel free to PM. Cheers Gaz
  22. YES, thats the tune, absolutely brilliant it is too! Covered up as Leo Wright, but that is only half of the mystery solved. Who is it then? is it a Philly/Harthon unissued track? Doesnt sound like it to me! Does anybody know the true identity or is this to be an unsolved mystery? If it's been played out in the past surely there must be a playable acetate out there somewhere? Either way this is a fantastic record and, i agree, would love to hear this played out!
  23. Can anybody out there please help me identify this? Been playing some old tapes this week, found one with Rob's distinctive handwriting, no date on it but guess its 88/89 ish. First track side 2.........Twanging guitar intro.....then woosh!.........uptempo, soulful, male group harmony of the VERY highest order with an insistent chorus of "baby baby, dont you do it". Sounds like its from late 60s/early 70s so would be described as crossover! Absolutely incredible record as good as anything ive heard for donkeys years. I cant remember this being played back in the day and i certainly havent heard it played anywhere in the last few years. Im guessing that its an acetate as a lot of the stuff on this tape are unreleased tracks. Can anyone help? Thanks Gaz
  24. David Ruffin for me too........ Awesome soulful power. Untouchable!!!! Have to agree about Lee Jones of The Masqueraders as well, its a real shame he wasnt with the band over here earlier this year!
  25. Record now sold! Thanks!!!
