  1. If they follow what was played early days before the commercial side of things at the Casino , be nice to hear "Exus Trek" or " Breakaway " even "You Didn't Say A Word " but some how I doubt it . Maybe we should contact the director with a listeners top 10 requests .
  2. These academics will always go on about the political side of things , but to be honest for most of us it was following your peers , and walking off the dance floor at the local youth clubs when the Bay City Rollers or Gary Glitter was played , didn't give a shit about politics not at the age of 15 , back in 1972 .
  3. Hi David , Are the 2 Chess releases still available. Regards Dave
  4. This is what is was all about , a tune aimed at the charts with a superb dancer on the beside , collectors delight .
  5. Very sad news , we had some great times travelling around and about to most of the venues from 88 to 2004 , did many a soul night / alldayer in Coventry , Hope & Anchor , Hare & Squirrel,TicToc, Bug & Black Bat , Tha General Wolf , and many more , when I gave up the DJing I gave him the Twin decks we used to use, which I'd bought off a mate of his Howard , (Tim didn't have the cash when Howard was selling up) I hope he pissed his neighbours off using them up on the seventh floor of Samuel Vale House , because I know they pissed him off ! Rip mate , sleep well
  6. Come on you Whites , BWFC , what a result , I know it's little league but this could be the start of something special .
  7. Just reread the the updated notes on the Annette Snell release , and to be honest I have a big lump in my throat and a tear in my eye , what a sad story , and listening to " I think " wow,,,
  8. Absolutely Wonderful , another great twofer possibly never meant for release , made just to show the others how he would like them to sound , but still great versions.
  9. Upton Blues Festival, Worcestershire, Upton On Severn, free UK Blues Festival pay for camping only , plenty of local campsites . All venues free ,and there's are an awful lot , plus stalls , market etc , July 21st to 23rd worth a visit if only for the day , real festival feel . https://g.co/kgs/ix6HiW
  10. Having received my copy of the double sided Chris Clark / Temptations , All I Need Is You to love me , where are the Temptations ? , Is it just David Ruffin ? or someone else ? pretty sure no one else is singing on it only the one singer , sorry if subject covered before .
  11. Cheers Andy , Got caught up and missed all UK sellers , sorted now Regards Dave
  12. Paris Police 1905 BBC 4 , period drama , subtitles but don't let that put you off , series 2 but it does say series 1 , 6 episodes very watchable.
  13. The Lowest Form Of Wit , by Leonard Rossiter a very good read circa 1981 , who played Rigsby in the comedy classic Rising Damp , also I believe wrote speeches for the Prime Minister Harold Wilson , when he was in Parliament . Sarcasm does have its humorous uses , worth a read .
  14. If the video was intended to promote Kent's , Little Ann LP with the above track included , it had the desired affect on me , great way to promote your own product , and Sally good dancer too . By the way check out ace/ Kent website if you want a copy at a very affordable price.
  15. Can anyone remember the James Cann Classic , Violent Streets aka The Thief , great is understated. Story about a Jewelry Thief , great cast , great soundtrack pretty sure Mighty Joe Young in a blues band club scene , from about 1981 I think but still worth searching for , Classic !
  16. Hi Kev , have pmd
  17. Not sure if mentioned on here before , but on the BBC iPlayer saw Clint Eastwood's " The Mule " , story about the oldest drug Mule in America , the other night , with " More Today Than Yesterday" in the soundtrack , would recommend it if you haven't seen it already .
  18. It was about 5 am in the morning, but the cards where a regular event at many a venue especially Yate ,I seem to remember back Stage .
  19. I remember back in the early 80s , playing cards in the back room at the Carlton in Hinckley, with Woody , Tommo, Martin & a few others and someone brought up the subject of what will be still be doing in our 60s , and the answer was sitting on our arses listening to Rare Soul music between the Bingo sessions, the dance floor at the time in the other room wasn't full by any means , so sitting chatting and having a good time has been a feature for years in good company.
  20. I did think that Mick after I wrote it, a Senior moment it comes to us all eventually lol .
  21. I'm not so sure , "I Can't Help Loving You" was originally covered up , Danny Wagner ? I think.long time ago maybe wrong . If "When We Get There" , was covered or recorded by any other artist would you still feel the same . This guy sang and wrote some of the most revered songs of all time including "MyWay" for Frank Sinatra , but this particular tune was ignored by the pop music world , isn't that what Northern Soul at the time was all about , not a rant just a different opinion.
  22. About 83ish was scorned by Ian Clark for playing it, in my spot at the 100 Club , personally always liked it and it packed the floor , he told me I'd souled out lol .
  23. Bobby Harden , new one to watch out for , scheduled for a May release ,
  24. Hi Dave pmd , Dave
