  1. Had another update , Due to unexpectedly high demand , we've temporarily run out of stock for this title .To ensure you receive the best possible product, we are in the process of restocking, but this means that the shipping date for your order has been pushed back to August 14th. We sincerely apologise for this inconvenience and understand how frustrating delays can be. We're working diligently to get your order out to you as quickly as possible , and we truly appreciate your patience and understanding. If you have any questions or need further assistance , please don't hesitate to reach out to us . Thank you for your continued support . We look forward to delivering your vinyl soon! Kind regards, The Charly Team . Strange as it may sound , I then had a shipping notice , complete with a Royal Mail tracking number . So chin up Steve , they look to have it hand , victims of their own success ?
  2. Morning folks , have just been on the Charly Website and there is an update on the Mill Evans , now shipping 14th August (Wednesday) .
  3. Hi Steve , Have Pmd you, but it does say shipping from August 6th , I hope that means 2024 not 2023 ( Yes it is 2024 , it's part of their 50 yr Anniversary promotion )
  4. Lorraine Ellison, Stay With Me (Baby) c/w I Want My Baby Back , great dancer on the b side , rereleased at least twice must have sold a million eventually ?
  5. I noticed 3 weeks ago , a 200grm. jar of Kenco coffee was £6. Last week it was £7. Luckily we had a sachet 150 grm. in stock purchased the week before at £4.25 , This week the 200 grm. jar is down to £5. What's that all about , so I bought 2 lol 😂
  6. Hi Ben , Have Pmd , Dave ,
  7. Ha ha , I wasn't in any way blaming you , it was more an open question , I am amazed at the price of the cd , same track listing as the original Vinyl album which is much cheaper .
  8. What, why is the cd commanding such a high price ?
  9. Happy Feet posted a post in a topic in Look At Your Box
Probably because only a limited few can be squeezed into the Northern Soul bracket, lots of great dance tunes but maybe require another genre to show their true potential , maybe Popcorn or just Latino who knows , it could be the next big thing on Strictly Come Dancing at the Blackpool Tower , every other type of soul music has been squeezed in somehow 🤔🤔
  10. My number 3 , Allen Toussaint connection,,,, Benny Spellman , Fortune Teller
  11. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jimmy_McCracklin My 2nd choice, Jimmy McCracklin ,The Walk ,Chess records 58 .
  12. The one that probably started the whole shape of things to come ,, Ray Charles , What I'd Say , 61 ish , I'll have to think or work on the other 4 .
  13. I'm sure Clarkie when he found a batch at the time , said he had made contact with Jan Jones and she was supplying him with copies , I know they where very reasonably priced he had that many copies , he currently has a black & white promotion photo of Jan Jones for auction on eBay if anybody wants one .
  14. Something must have clicked because we're now going forward and actually pressing, instead of sitting back and letting the opposition keep us in our half , passing the ball from left to right inviting pressure. Well done England , Ollie Ollie Ollie , Ollie Ollie !
  15. Hattie Littles , Love , Trouble ,Heartaches & Misery , at least two members of the selection team at Motown back in the day had no Soul , Great work Alex muchas gracias senor !
  16. I only mentioned it as a teaser, due to its date of release and according to comments made over the years " Funky edged banger with a tinge of Jazz " not just a Northern Classic sorry 😐
  17. Thanks Peter I'm doing fine , 67 got over the worse ,back at work loving life etc , What about the Instrumental version , definitely a modern take lol .
  18. Personally I always thought that " modern soul" was just as inclusive as the traditional Northern Soul tunes and if mixed in to a set , as did RS , a second room would never have been necessary, unless overcrowding was the problem , Ila Vann , You Made Me This Way. Carstairs, It Really Hurts Me Girl. Dooley Silverspoon , Game Players. Fifth Amendment, I Got You where I Want You . Mandrill , Too Late . So many as mentioned earlier, and a very important topic , perhaps not the big money tunes but all great tunes at their introduction, and have obviously helped to keep this wonderful music genre moving on to 2024 and beyond .
  19. 1 in 1 out 2 to go , was hoping for a Germany V England final , and we win on their turf that would've been worth a watch , now probably Spain , come on England,,
  20. Not at all Peter everyone's entitled to their opinion, it was just a teaser ,,, like The Montclair's, Hey you , personally prefer " Hung Up On Your Love " have them both and one was played on its release , and sold in bucket fulls and definitely should be in a Top 500 modern list . Glad to see you up & running by the way , stay strong mate
  21. One that was released in 1970 , but you'd never believe it and sounds like an old soul classic , Lou Pride , I'm Com'un Home In The Morn'un, Suemi , 1st played 74ish , can it be considered in the top 500 modern soul list ?
