Not one for today's scene but back in the day there's one or two who probably would have given it a spin , covered up no doubt , thank god they never came across it .
And we all know that even from the early days of Northern Soul , cover ups and misleading info went hand in hand , or am I being taken in again not sure , arse full of splinters on this one , ouch
Hi Mark , they all look so much better than the plain old Tamla Motown sleeves we had to endure , sure there's a topic in here somewhere, the question is why ???? If I didn't already own them all in the plain old sleeves , absolutely fantastic.
Looking at the facts , 3 possible different names albeit with very close name changes , Chris B, . Chris J, Marke J, maybe he was working away from home , different studio or Pseydium, he wouldn't have been the 1st .
People keep comparing Jalen with Motown & Marvin especially , but I think he sounds more Donnie Elbert which is not a bag thing , he was a great vocalist too , agree with you b - side great tune
Just been informed by Juno Records ( DJ equipment etc ) this is in stock & shipping , showing 7 copies still available, but on Ace/ Kent still on preorder , for anyone interested, check out their site or their ebay shop .
Is this the right one ? I have questioned who's behind the pressing nobody seems to know , but plenty on eBay with the acetate label lookalike , one sided etc , I'd say definitely Allan Scott too
I never believed I'd ever see www.gov.uk and Northern Soul on the same page , interesting though , perhaps the speaker of the commons Sir Lindsay " Soul man " Hoyle had a word in somebody's ear , I knows he's not from Blackburn , but pretty close
Don't send them to the tip , I'm sure some off the younger members will find them very useful , if not donate to a local charity shop as a last resort .
I know we all assumed at the time of release, that the Soulfox releases where boots , but I'm sure someone on here said they where Legitimate , we all know Simon Soussan was behind them , so the jury may still be contemplating on that , for legal reasons ?
Thanks Mark , I know we had picture sleeves in the UK but they where mainly on special Eps , not on the every day releases as was the case all over the world , we seemed to have had mostly company sleeves , can anyone shed some light on this ?
Yes I sent another message this morning at 7-30 am , confirming what you have just wrote , and he didn't respond verbally but glad he got the message, nothing nasty just pointed out the facts and that I thought he was a chancer .
