  1. Pete Haigh also used to dj , I'm sure it was a Friday session, was a popular venue at the time .
  2. Unfortunately there isn't a picture sleeve , a sleeve yes but only details etc , I think that the advert at the top is simply that , deffo no picture sleeve with my copy , for a limited run and the advert at the top , you would have thought so .
  3. And how many of these tunes are going to end up in the , this was worth a 1K 2 years ago offers over £200 , it is a reality .
  4. Very confusing , I thought it had 3 tracks too
  5. I can only guess that the felt pen/ black marker that I removed was possibly not a permer marker , and perhaps the length of time the black ink was on the label ? I'm not a scientist but do like to experiment, but would never touch a white label say a demo copy for instance . I can only apologise but it did work for me , unfortunately I haven't a before & after of the Bobby Williams on Action , that I purchased fron Joe Dunlop , but I forward them to Joe , whose response was it looked like a different record , but it was the same , I will dig it out and post .
  6. From the very early days , when we where young , apprentices both in jobs & the Northern Soul scene we all at some time bought boots , reissue's, along side any originals we could afford which where a lot cheaper, long before the internet etc , it's a wonder any youthful types would want to engage with a scene , with the price of records these days , when downloads and boots are so much cheaper . It probably appears to the younger generation that they're not buying a record , but a piece of art from Sotheby's, and they simply can't afford it. Or am I overthinking it , by the way I bought a copy of the reissue because I thought it was legite & £9.99 Inc p+p .
  7. Could it have anything to do with the amount of boots already sold , or reissue's and the younger generation are happier paying a tenner for a copy ?
  8. That's the feature regarding the dodgy DIY test kits , only it was a reporter talking about and doing a test , ( probably pre-recorded ) , the point I was trying to make was Tim & others have like myself , had blood test to determine the PSA level by a professional nurse or doctor, results from a Lab ,then a physical examination if required , followed by MRI or biopsy and treatment , do not rely on the DIY kit .
  9. I've had tests over the last few years , the physical type but never had a PSA test , but on the way to work yesterday on BBC Hereford & Worcester , there was a feature berating the testing kits & saying that just like the Covid testing kits , the majority give a false reading , their words not mine. It will be on the BBC iplayer if anyone wants to hear it , yesterday's breakfast show , normally Tammi Gooding , but some Guy is covering her slot this week .
  10. I'm not sure , doesn't appear to be this one has 3 tracks , is yours the official release?
  11. Is it only available from the U.S. or is there any UK stockists ?
  12. What's the reaction to the B- side , Too Little Too Late , is it AI or a genuinely written & produced tune , It's definitely worth a listen & aimed at the dancefloor.
  13. Marvin Gaye , Little Darling .
  14. What a bloody awful week of sadness & loss RIP Angie Stone , sincere condolences to family, friends, & fans
  15. Hi Dave , Have Pmd
  16. This was a favourite of mine & still is , sold a copy to Adam Buchanan whilst he was actually DJing at The Nottingham Oddfellows Allnighter in Leicester on a 12" single , it was his next tune on wonderful.
  17. There was a guy based in the south , who sold via eBay , Folkestone rings a bell . Anyway considering how he made them by hand they where , a thing of beauty. 3 pieces of very thin craft style card , cut by hand using a template I would guess , then very meticulously glued together, two tone record sleeves in most colours , & not that expensive either . He sold them by the dozen too , & they will fit an inner sleeve & record easily. I used them to identify a certain artist in my filing system . Here's some in action .
  18. Had the pleasure of seeing her sing it live , no not on the Northern Soul scene , darn sarf as they say , when she was touring & promoting it , didn't need much promoting, sheer class RIP Gwen
  19. Ever since the SCENE , Northern Soul that is , there have been an abundance of records from all music genres , mixed into a soup that is classified as Northern Soul , not every record or Artist is to everyone's taste , not every record is Soul , but after nearly 56 yrs ? it will never satisfy everyone, no matter how good or great a tune is , we're always striving to find the best , undiscovered, rareity , B side , unreleased, lost in a vault , never finished or whatever, it has got worse over the years , but if we all liked the same we wouldn't keep searching for the illusive, but for a b- side as is usually the case it hits the spot , good luck with the auction
  20. Today's Guardian has a feature on the passing of Jerry . Jerry Butler, soul hitmaker and Illinois politician, dies aged 85 https://www.theguardian.com/music/2025/feb/21/jerry-butler-iceman-soul-singer-illinois-politician-dies-aged-85?CMP=share_btn_url
  21. Not wanting to gate crash but on the site that you've posted it also says that Henry Farnborough the last surviving original member of The ( Detroit ) Spinners also passed away on Wednesday, also aged 85 . RIP Henry . As everyone as said before me , Rip Jerry " The Ice man " Butler not just a great singer but a very helpful politician too .
  22. More Louise Lewis , Wee Oo I'll Let It Be You Babe , good gear , right time , full floor , nuff said .
  23. Thanks for the info , I bought some of these last year , couldn't remember for the life of me where & who , just ordered 2 packs 1/2 price or less , I know like most UK cardboard sleeves are definitely getting smaller , but these do fit just gotta be careful when putting them back in the cardboard sleeve , after all the vinyl is precious.
  24. Thanks DLP , for the response, I often wonder why anyone uploads to say YouTube, & put up footage from years past without the true musical backing , especially when there's a live act obviously playing in the background, still great footage , I'm amazed that nobody has yet come forward and recognised their Mum or Grannie . ( Mods move to the topic 1960s UK Mod / Soul Clubs if in the wrong topic )
