Skimming On Post! Since When Did 1St Class Signed For Cost £5?
I ask £2.70 signed for 1st class, with 2nd record free then only 0.50p per record thereafter. I've have had some real humdingers over the years. One bloke wanted £7.00 for a £10.50 record, when I asked why so high he replied "packing materials, my time, fuel for car to post office, tape, labelling and passing on of tracking number"....... Perhaps best was a person who agreed I could go and collect item or have it shipped for £20.00 (wasn't a record) I bought it and asked to come and collect (3 miles from my older brother) he said he'd reduce "shipping costs" by £8.00 to £12.00, I told him to stuff it.

Thee persoon who bought the Chalfontes must have absolutely no idea wat values are. It also means that were other people bidding over 300 quid too

You can't compare with the Frank Wilson, besides there were more things involved in that sale. You can however compare with Don Gardner, Larry Clinton, Del-larks, et al, not many people who own them got to be well known on the scene like Kenny did.

If the bloke bought it to DJ with, first very risky being on styrene we all know how fragile they can be and secondly and more important is that economically it doesn't make sense, you'd have to play it as a DJ every night for about 3.5 years !!

No matter how great a record is I would have a tough time parting with that kind of money, even if I was a millionaire. Talking to a ex-collector/seller who said, and he was right, "it's a never ending thing, where do you stop ? you just can't own every rare/great record unless you are a millionaire" I have to say I would have thought that the amount of buyers who want to pay over £5.000 for a record must be a diminishing number as people get older other priorities rear their head and owning £50 -100.000+ of vinyl doesn't seem such a good idea.

Record Started Jumping
Thanks Mark (I think ) just checked, I used a Stanton DJ Pro 500AL, the booklet says the tracking force is 2 to 5 grams. I guess I'd better go and learn up on what that all means and how I should set my decks up proper like. Right, be back in about 2 years then !!

Pete I always thought once in the 70 and then again in the 90s. The 70s one looking more like the original.
