Shirley Ellis - Soul Time
A very good question, about 3 - 4 years ago you could buy one for less than a fiver now they are about £20.00+ a throw depending on the issue. An EX original US Columbia will cost around £15-25 and the US re-issue not much less. On original UK CBS 7463 about £25.00 or more and the later CBS re-issue about £15 - 20. I think mine's on Australian CBS, would need to check. If you want to buy one be patient, shop around, go for the early UK CBS issue with the 4 spoked centre Good luck.

"i'm Gone" On Ebay
I seem to remember Nigel Martin having either 2 or 3 copies of circa 1973. His dad was a pilot with Canadian Pacific and used to do the records shops for Nigel. I thought that they came from Martin Koppel, anyway the story is his dad should have gotten "Love you baby" but the shop owner only had "I'm gone" so he bought them. Nigel used to get people writing to him, coming round his house and was approached all the times at venues, all begging to buy one. Ask Martin K if he remembers Nigel and/or his dad ?

Buying Multiples On Ebay Bin And Combining Postage
Yes I know it's real screw up. If it's a seller who reads his messages and acts on them you can usually mail and tell him which ones you want and he'll invoice accordingly. What I have done is pay the shipping charges on all of them and get seller to refund, done this about 3 times.

Skimming On Post! Since When Did 1St Class Signed For Cost £5?
Sellers don't actually "charge" for postage, they price it up and the decision to accept it or not is the buyers'. I always add it to the price of the record and make my decision on total cost. Buying from the US can range from $10.00 and anything up to $28.00. If it's the latter I always challenge it and ask for an explanation, usually they'll come down, I quote the USPS website calculation. UK postage costs are pretty good, perhaps only bettered by Holland and the US. Paying up to about £2.75 for a 1st class signed for (remember there's £50.00 insurance included) isn't extortion and anything over that value should go special delivery at about £5.50 - 7.00.
