  1. Drop it on a hard concrete floor. If is shatters into pieces then it's styrene if not it's vinyl
  2. How far apart are they in terms of release date ?
  3. I know if really want an original you need to buy that MFP album (be the £3.00 you'll ever spend on records) It came out as a pukker TMG single in 1974, I've had lots pass through my hands. But I came across this copy and it looks different than any I've ever seen. Did it get a later release ? a sort of re-re-lease ? The text looks different and larger but it does say TMG886, always thought that they issued a number number, usually higher when re-releasing a TMG single. This is how "original" 1974 release looks like. Any help, comments, advice, etc welcome.......... This one doesn't feel "right"
  4. Yes it is.
  5. Chubby Checker on UK CP = £886.00
  6. You can do that once or twice but Ebay aren't stupid, my niece did that and Ebay kicked her off.
  7. I know there's quite a soul following in Chicago, mostly young blokes. Dave Moore on here should be able to hook you up with 2 DJs who do a fair amount of soul events. Also try this : https://www.facebook.com/groups/210339159015411/?fref=ts Good luck
  8. I've had a few of these they were all styrene, if you have one then 99.99% it's an original.
  9. Then you should say so, wasting my time, I should send you an invoice !
  10. There is (or was) a bloke selling them on Ebay with a scanned original issue label that was glued onto one of those repress ones you can buy for £5.00 off Ebay.
  11. Yes
  12. Aaron Darcy, on 10 Feb 2015 - 04:18 AM, said: If that's true not only would he have to pay Ebay's fees and I reckon that's in the £1000s now and even if he cancelled every sale to get his fees back wouldn't take Ebay to sus that out. I actually bought one of his records and I have to say at a fair price, I was, going on historical bidding, expecting it to go for far more. But as the questioner asked "how do you know that ?"
  13. Very nice !
  14. There's also a rock version by a group called Flint. It's not bad, a bit E.L.O. come Gallagher and Lyle.
  15. I guess coming runner-up isn't bad at all, after all NS isn't everybody's cup of tea, especially darn South where a lot of people live and have never heard/understood NS.
  16. An American seller told me that he now sells to Brits who've just started collecting NS records. He says that they all own JMs book and bid according to that, or even more.
  17. Have to say this guy does get great prices for his records. I paid less than £100 for my copy, last year.
  18. Right got it. Don't really mind what colour label is as long as it's an original. I did see an orange one for £125.00, albeit sold some years ago, nearly treble in price in 4.5 years ?

  20. according to Pipsqueak you can pick one up for about £100.00
  21. Looks like £100.00 nowadays ?
  22. Bought a £33.00 record from an Ebay seller, he charged £5.00 for 1st class signed for, I knew that before bidding and bid accordingly. I did mention twice that I thought the cost was excessive, here's his reply. "Some records had to be posted special delivery and in that case I had to put my own money towards the cost. I new settings the p&p at a fiver would help cut my losses. Besides you new it wss a fiver before you bid so a little late to complain. On top of the postage there was cost for mailets stiffners my time and effort packaging. Petrol and finally 13.4 % ebay charges. Please don't bid in my future auctions if you are going to complain afterwards" He could have said nothing, said he'll take that into account next time or send a snotty ? Luckily the record was for a friend who was out of the country, don't we'll be buying from this guy anymore.
  23. I was afraid of that, any advice welcome.
