  1. I wrote an article about the group in Kev Roberts Togetherness magazine, I'll try and find it.
  2. This was the very first record I heard when I knew it was a Northern Soul one, the Catacombs, March 1972
  3. Iss The issue is the rarer of the two records. Demos go for anywhere between £100 - 120 and issues £150 - 200.00. A record well worth having.
  4. Thanks always fancied myself as an "elite"
  5. Depends on when in the 70s, from 1970 to 1973 not very big, I can only think of about 10 venues and not all of them weren't open every week and not all nighters. I guess it became bigger from about 1974 onwards once Wigan had established itself.
  6. I suspect that these high prices are due to "Bobby Weekend" DJs who can afford £100 but not £1500 for a record. Surely most people attending these venues will know that the DJs don't own these rarities ?
  7. OK got it, ah well
  8. My MFP doesn't have any dates on it.
  9. Thanks, have 2 copies on London looking for C-P or P.
  10. If it was in Aptil B & S then the article would have been written well before that date. I couldn't find any dates on the MFP album, maybe it was released before '74 ?
  11. Guess we'll never really know, some 40+ years ago
  12. Sorry won't make offers seller must give a price, good luck
  13. US or UK, condition not paramount, should play OK though, thanks. Don't ask me to make an offer, please give a price, thanks.
  14. This appears in "45Cat" for the single : Notes A release date of 15 Feb 1974 is given in booklet 'The New Singles' No. 512 B-side previously issued on Stateside SS 381. A-side was a previously unissued recording from the same era. Not familiar with "The New Singles" wonder if they got it wrong. The Isley Brothers - Tell me it's a rumour was released on a single after interest from Soul on Rocks album. Can't see why this would be different. Ah well, I guess anything's possible.
  15. It really is a good album, you can get one for less than a fiver, great for someone just getting into the scene. Just A Little Misunderstanding First I Look At The Purse Can You Jerk Like Me It's Growing Baby Hit And Run It's So Hard Being A Loser Can You Do It? Determination It Must Be Love Don't Let Her Be Your Baby Shake Sherrie Do You Love Me?
  16. Me too.............
  17. Torch closed in 1973.
  18. Taken at Portland Bill The sea shall not have them..................
  19. I see one went for about £65.00 on Ebay in January, so should be do-able under a £100.00
  20. Could someone put a scan up of this ? A drillion thanks
  21. I'd be interested to know that too, haven't seen any for sale anywhere. There are some 2nd hand ones on Ebay. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/CARD-7-RECORD-SLEEVES-PLASTIC-LINED-X15-NO-WRITING-/141563651280?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_3&hash=item20f5d9e4d0 https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/CARD-7-RECORD-SLEEVES-PLASTIC-LINED-X25-MOST-HAVE-WRITING-STICKER-STAINS-/141563644939?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_3&hash=item20f5d9cc0b https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/CARD-RECORD-SLEEVES-7-PLASTIC-LINING-X32-MOST-HAVE-WRITING-STICKER-STAINS-/141563648124?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_3&hash=item20f5d9d87c https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/CARD-7-RECORD-SLEEVES-PLASTIC-LINED-X25-MOST-HAVE-GOT-WRITING-STICKER-STAINS-/141563643064?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_3&hash=item20f5d9c4b8
  22. I've used these for years with no issue, fast dispatch. https://www.covers33.co.uk/
  23. Thank heavens for that John !! I though I was losing my marbles or at the time, some sort chemical imbalance At 1974 people just didn't play 12" Albums, unless it was a very special "can't get anywhere else" thing.
  24. I'm sure you've got your facts right but I don't remember it being like that.
  25. If it's a boot put it on Ebay with a starting price of £49.99, should sell for about £200.00 going on today's prices
