  1. The Four Larks - Groovin' at the Go Go - Catacombs - Wolverhampton. 1St "real" Northern Soul record I ever heard.
  2. Not really sure how a 2500 record becomes a 1600 one, a record is worth what it sells for, there are no fixed prices. Just seen a Joanie Sommers go for £350.00 and David & Ruben for £210.00 about what they'd go for if they were shipped "normally".
  3. Thing is if you pay import duty and need to ship the item back, then generally you'll not get that duty re-imbursed. There is a way but you'll need to know someone in shipping to walk you through it. My advice is try and change the sellers mind and get him/her o ship themselves at a low customs value. If it can't be done and it's an expensive record, walk away (unless of course you don't mind paying).
  4. What's the connection to the Ebay Global Shipping program ?
  5. An enormous talent, a part of that Chicago soul scene, singer brother, mates with Mayfield and all the Okeh/Dakar/Brunswick gang. We wish him well.
  6. 18 months on and it all looks very different now
  7. You really have to check before bidding, that Ebay Global Shipping is real garbage and most sellers have no idea how it impacts their final price. I have been able to get most sellers to change it, even completing the customs forms on line for one of them. There are diehards though and you have let go and allow someone else to pay the import duty. I wanted a record and just before finishing already it was totaling above $150.00, about 25% of the value of the record. Always contact the seller and offer to help him/her, explain what it means to them not to use it. Good luck.
  8. 1 day to go............. a few more............ MINT
  9. Comes from Monarch pressing plant in Los Angeles, hardly likely knowing those guys.
  10. Wasn't aware that there was a NS scene in Spain and Italy in 1978. I assumed it was down to some TV program or film that got their release but the UK 1978 re-release also makes sense. Was it issued anywhere else ? Canada, France or Japan ?
  11. The white demo is Italian and the blue issue Spanish. Both released in 1978, hardly the peak of the Mediterranean Northern Soul scene, anybody know how these got to be issued at that time ? There were 60s Italian Cameo releases but there doesn't appear to have been any in Spain.
  12. I know a bloke that puts dishwasher rinse on his records after washing them, he then wipes it off with a cloth. He says it gives the vinyl a good shine.
  13. A couple of Minters 1 day to go.............
  14. Interesting, it was basically a 2 person bid, often makes for a high unrealistic price.
  15. Fairly Liquid or Draft, warm water, soft cloth to dry, works wonders
  16. That surprises me because the RCA Victor/ABC issues seem to go for a lot more than the the white demos.
