  1. Dreadful sound quality, only good for the bin........................
  2. None of the above sorry not into "beat ballads"
  3. PM me if you want his e-mail address.
  4. Checked Popsick and saw 7 demos & 8 issues, way, way back it was all demos, you'll find that the issue generally goes for more money, usually a good Litmus test. That story BTW came from the arranger, the legendary Arthur Wright, who coincidentally later worked for the LA Motown office.
  5. I just had a message from Ian Levine who was incredibly proud of the list. He wants to publicly thank Mark Dewell and says how proud he is of that selection at just one pound each. He also says that the new stuff from Detroit is quite different. If anyone wanted a new soul pack who had one previously, then it would be at least 80% different to the one they had earlier.
  6. It's an original, was recorded in LA with Monarch just around the corner. Here's some trivia, the recording session started at 11.00pm and finished at 03.00am, was being played on the radio stations and going down well, then in steps Berry Gordy who told Fat Fish to pull the record or face a law suit, Gordy said it was plagiarism, sounding like "Just a little misunderstanding". Having just won a case against Curtis Mayfield for "Can't satisfy" they couldn't risk the business and did pull the record. Thats' why issues are harder to find than demos. Not a lot of people know that
  7. Diggin Dave has a copy of the Snake for sale, autographed by Al Wilson for less than a tenner.
  8. Original issue came from Monarch with delta 64378 in styrene. There is a later "re-issue", I think it has instrumental on B side.tritriangle" 64378, "MRangle" 64378, "MR
  9. That's quite a list
  10. Or buy on US for about a fiver......................... https://www.ebay.com/itm/Northern-Soul-45-AL-WILSON-When-You-Love-Youre-Loved-Too-Who-Could-Be-Lovin-/271946494870?hash=item3f51463396 My guess it's some who read that The Snake is a top NS sound and that NS records are rare and worth a lot of money, put 2 and 2 together and bid £250+ for a 25 quid record.
  11. Bobby Sanders told me the owner of Canterbury records was the son of the co-owner/CEO of Mattel Toys Elliot Handler, a plaything he'd bought for him.
  12. So really what you're saying you haven't got a clue, fair enough................
  13. When you bought some what were they like ?
  14. He told some great stories (as only he could) about Canterbury.
  15. £255.00 classic !!! https://www.popsike.com/Al-Wilson-The-Snake-Liberty-45/381102786527.html
  16. I've seen a few of these 1970s boots, they are very tough to tell from the original.
  17. Ian stuff comes from a dealer in Detroit, I know that for a fact, I shipped them for him.
  18. Still 3 days to go........................... https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/60s-Northern-Soul-AL-WILSON-The-Snake-ORIGINAL-UK-LIBERTY-EX-/201397561913?hash=item2ee43aea39
  19. The picture is the same as the album cover, although I actually notice the page is promoting his 1st single.
  20. For me Duke Browner - Crying over you, snapped in two, sold on Soul Source for £30.00. I do hope buyer was able to make some playable record from it. /forums/topic/322041-duke-browner-crying-over-original-£3000-read-on/#comment-2144299
  21. Original US please. Thanks
  22. Oh yeah have a publicity poster for Chris Bartleys album where he's gazing into the eyes of Sandi Sheldon, signed by both. Will tray and dig t out.
  23. I've seen the rise start from about Feb/March onward. There used to be a time when buying in July and for sure August you could get a bargain, those days seem to have vanished. I tracked about 30 records on Ebay last night, they went for "silly" money, looks like we're back to 2006 pricing if not more, must be a younger audience rather than old soulies. Hope it stays, got 2 big batches to sell later in the year
