  1. I shall be looking out for more like it in the future.
  2. Almost certainly Jamaican, I'm sure some work on the internet will produce some results. Stax records were pressed by Record Specialsts in Kingston, Ja.
  3. I've seen dark blue ones but the text has always been black, not seen silver before. These two are Jamaican.
  4. You'll find it easier to get one on Swan.
  5. Probably a UK pressed for some sort of DJ use, as I said not a major valued item, certainly unique though, good luck.
  6. Hi Pablo, not very much, I would guess about $20.00 tops. I saw a couple of these on Ebay some while ago, the seller asked quite high prices but neither of them sold. Could you post a scan of the labels ?
  7. I'm not 100% sure but I think it was Nigel Martin who brought it to the Torch in 1972 and sold it to (maybe) KM for £50.00.
  8. When were they for sale at 60p each, the 70s or 80s ? It went for £50.00 at the Torch in 1972/73.
  9. Any idea who's actually doing it ?
  10. This a Monarch pressed record with 107892 vocal side, 107492 on instrumental side. Is in styrene with a stuck on label very tough to tell from an original in a dark room ! You don't see a lot of these for sale, probably rarer than original !! Monarch pressed circa 70s An original
  11. You might even find it on one of those yellow Constellations Well worth tracking down "I'm just a fool for you" - normally for under a tenner, pure Chicago soul, Luvva Lee................
  12. He'd be able to buy lots from Ian then
  13. I know Simon Soussan befriended Arthur Wright, perhaps from that ?
  14. Guessing between £2500 - 3000 ?
  15. Dreadful sound quality, only good for the bin........................
  16. None of the above sorry not into "beat ballads"
  17. PM me if you want his e-mail address.
  18. Checked Popsick and saw 7 demos & 8 issues, way, way back it was all demos, you'll find that the issue generally goes for more money, usually a good Litmus test. That story BTW came from the arranger, the legendary Arthur Wright, who coincidentally later worked for the LA Motown office.
  19. I just had a message from Ian Levine who was incredibly proud of the list. He wants to publicly thank Mark Dewell and says how proud he is of that selection at just one pound each. He also says that the new stuff from Detroit is quite different. If anyone wanted a new soul pack who had one previously, then it would be at least 80% different to the one they had earlier.
  20. It's an original, was recorded in LA with Monarch just around the corner. Here's some trivia, the recording session started at 11.00pm and finished at 03.00am, was being played on the radio stations and going down well, then in steps Berry Gordy who told Fat Fish to pull the record or face a law suit, Gordy said it was plagiarism, sounding like "Just a little misunderstanding". Having just won a case against Curtis Mayfield for "Can't satisfy" they couldn't risk the business and did pull the record. Thats' why issues are harder to find than demos. Not a lot of people know that
  21. Diggin Dave has a copy of the Snake for sale, autographed by Al Wilson for less than a tenner.
  22. Original issue came from Monarch with delta 64378 in styrene. There is a later "re-issue", I think it has instrumental on B side.tritriangle" 64378, "MRangle" 64378, "MR
  23. That's quite a list
  24. Or buy on US for about a fiver......................... https://www.ebay.com/itm/Northern-Soul-45-AL-WILSON-When-You-Love-Youre-Loved-Too-Who-Could-Be-Lovin-/271946494870?hash=item3f51463396 My guess it's some who read that The Snake is a top NS sound and that NS records are rare and worth a lot of money, put 2 and 2 together and bid £250+ for a 25 quid record.
