  1. Good job I'm not bringing the missus then !! I have been going thru what Ian L will play, they're all Torch Originals, guaranteed to blow your shoelaces off
  2. Couple of blokes round our way had a MK I Lotus Cortina, the local police a Morris 1000, needless to say they never got caught - now I have a Triumph TR6 tucked away in my garage There's NOTHING like female feet marks on the roof lining of an old car Chris L
  3. With the Torch re-union now only days away, me and 3 of my buddies will be winging our way north-ish in comfort, staying at a hotel, able to afford a decent restaurant meal. Always wasn't like that, thinking back in '72 what I did for work and what kind of money I was earning, etc. In 1972 I was trainee estate agent, shock horror............. earning about £10 a week to supplement my vinyl thirst I worked in a pub nights if you have do an extra job that's not a bad one, my mates certainly thought so I was driving a very dodgy Ford Cortina MK I, the brakes once failed on the motorway coming up to the Torch, what an experience that was............... All my money went Martin Koppell in Canada, Record Corner Balham, Moondogs in fact anywhere (I think I still Martin a fiver ) no money for clothes or those type of luxuries Me leaving my house off to the Torch, what a dorky shirt, I think my mum must have made it out of old curtains or a table cloth. Aahh halcyon days, there was NOTHING quite like queing up to get in at the Torch I get shivers just thinking about it. See yers there. No tell us all WHERE WERE YOU IN 72 ?? Do tell.................................... Chris L

  12. Let me state for the record (pun intended) 1. I do not wear a wig or a false chest hair piece. 2. We will not be stealing any cars (these new fangled duddies are 2 tough for us) 3. There will be 10 hours of floorbending Torch sounds that will wake any hore up for 55 miles around. So there you have it, the truth, straight from the horses mouth (pun intended) Chris L
  13. PM me please Chris L
  14. Could you tell us about that "incident" as far as I remember Ian & Tony have always been on good terms, Tony happily agreeing to appear at the Mecca Reunion at Ians request 11 years ago. Plus I know that Tony has worked with Ian on other projects over the last 30 years and I would very, very surprised to know of any animosity, so please do tell us. Let's not forget that Ian was intrumental in getting Tony Jebb to actually step over into the Northern Soul scene, Tony of ocurse was more a Tamla/Soul saturday Night Mecca/Top Rank DJ, albeit a good one.
  15. Crikey !! I would think he's anything but "nonchalant" - if you know him you'll know he's a walking fireball Chris L
  16. No rude comments on your post, I'd file it under "non-added value", OK ?
  17. Mike It is yours and teams right to allow/ban anybody from your webforum, nobody would question that. What is a shame however is leaving this posting open that allows the replies hereunder to appear. None of them add any value (except Imber Boys "wibble") it is yet another platform to throw crude, rude comments at IL. Let's hope you lock this thread down soonest so that everybody can move forward with or without IL. Chris L ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Surprised it's taken this long. Inevitably there will be some people who will think that he still has a lot to offer and will be unhappy about this decision. However, as he's making noises about starting ANS up again those who want to keep up with his activities can do so without the usual impact on this site GODZILLA ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I'm not saying a thing, not even "I told you so!". I do think it's a shame we won't get to hear the other 398 now, I did enjoy that game Maybe in few years time? Northern Soul 2011, maybe!? Something to look forward to. TROUBLE ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- About time that --------------------was banned! Well done PAUL-S well, if any of his cronies (there are quite a few on here!) did what he asked, Ban them too.! BTW the meaning of crony(ies) pl -nies a close friend (Greek khronios long-lasting) Crony Noun A close friend who accompanies his buddies in their activities

  21. I have a couple of tickets for sale - please PM me, thanks, Chris L
  22. Aahh.............I suspect you're missing the point here. Playing to the gallery with the "Ian Levine" card ensures the writer of automatic "here, heres" from the AILB. Facts and figures are wafted out of the window whilst headline grabbing emotions rule. I'd rather watch Curling at the winter Olympics:whistling:
  23. Yes please Headmistress !!
