  3. Sunny, you smiled at me and really eased the pain. The dark days are gone, and the bright days are here, My Sunny one shines so sincere. Sunny one so true, I love you. Great words from a great singer, as someone already said here Love, love, love epitomises the early Northern Soul scene as does You want to change me the later years. By all accounts a great person. I remember some years ago at a NS venue coming across a UK Philips copy of Love, love, love.......................for a £1.00 !! I thought at the time what a piece of wonderful music for a next to nothing cost.

10-Alan Day, Martyn Ellis and Tony Jebb djing live at The Torch CD £?? Considering its a live recording from 1972 done on a small cassette player then transferred to CS, I for one was expecting a muffled recording however it sounds remarkably clear. 15 mins of Alan Day 30 mins of Tony Jebb 40 mins of Martyn Ellis The sheer excitement on pressing the play button on this piece of history was immense. Not only did I find myself waiting for each sound to come pounding out of the speakers with the excitement of a six year old on Xmas day but the piss take and camaraderie that was prevalent at Hose St is there for all to hear via the DJ exchanges, hardly any noise from the dance floor just three iconic soul dj's doing what they did best. Copies of this wonderful piece of history will be available on the day for £5 each ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ This will be the best £5 you ever spent - if you went to the Torch you'll get the most severe shivers down your spine - if you didn't then you'll get a real feel how the place was - what stikes me is how young we all were - don't think (apart from KM) anyone was over 20 years old.

  18. Does anybody have Chris Kings set ? (no cheeky remarks like 'next years ?' ) Thanks
  19. Well the real question is would all those Motownesque soundlikes been produced had there not been any Motown. The answer is yes, may have sounded somewhat different, a lot of soul music isn't/wasn't Motown.
