  2. In decent condition please....................
  3. Just take a look at the amount of re-issues put in 1969, you can't ignore it/them............
  4. Whatever it was Ady it was a fascinating period all the same, all these people not knowing each other, all trying to get records that were "out of print"..........
  5. I would put 1969 as the "departure date" there was an awful lot of re-releases back then, as the US turned away from Stax/Atlantic & Motownesque to protest tunes. I remember pouring over a UK releases book at our local record store and ordering stuff, I now realise they were not the original mid sixties issues. I would love to start/have a list of original UK releases and their subsequent re-release before Mojo & Contempo stuff. NS didn't happen overnight, it was a ground swell, all that I know tells me its origins can be dated to 1969. Chris ps : the Contempo release of Johnny Williams plays a damn sight better than that hissy Bashie..............
  6. I never "got" this one : George Lemons - Fascinating girl.............
  7. 1969 - the UK's love affair with soul music becomes a national trend forcing UK labels to re-issue records from the early to mid sixties : Fascinations Statside/Sue Spellbinders CBS/Direction TMG later numbers - re-issues Doris Troy CP/Toast etc. etc. Proving without doubt that the UK soul scene is (was) driven from the grassroots.
  8. Issue rarer although that west coast one (see pic) is pretty rare too. They do go for £300.00+ mainly because they don't come often up for sale.
  9. Always thought that Canadian issues were great...............
  10. After a few years of trying to get a decent example managed to at last buy this Rotary watch, it's exactly the same as I got for my 21st birthday. I think I binned that one sometime in the early eighties And here she is.............................. Me wearing it in July 1975 Also just bought this probably for resale, looks better than pic...........
  11. Guess this must be the original then..........................
  12. We had an old MK I Cortina and Beetle
  13. Yes, what's the relevance to the thread ? it is a rocker cafe (or was) motorbikes, leather and the likes. Funnily enough we'd pass it every time we came op north for a NS event. Whoops !! Just seen the reason, 100000000000 apologies...................
  14. A very rare pic of the London lot heading up North of a Saturday afternoon........ Looking so cool..........................
  15. I got to meet Jerry Ross, he looked like a retired auto-worker out on a retiree's outing..................
  16. Maybe if C-P weren't farting about with a played out Chubster then they could have promoted the heck out of it and it would been a big hit (but then we'd not want would we ? ).
  17. Christine Cooper trivia, she dated Eddie Holman.......................
  18. Yes he did 71/72 recorded there too..........................goes to show, you just don't know............................
  19. You just have to see the spoof movie called "Black Dynamite" made in 2009 looks like it was filmed in 1973 based on John Shaft............
  20. SABAM are very powerful and tough organisation they nearly shutdown the whole Belgian TV system some years ago over author rights, having said that if you pay them they'll allow pretty much anything
  21. Cool........................
  22. The Minit release comes from their album "Sweet Soul Shakin'" there's a version of the Tempos "Countdown here I come" not surprising the 2 groups intermingled under the auspiciousness of the intrepid Bobby Sanders. Neither are like the Canterbury productions, same choons though.
  23. I get the impression that this a Germany only single release I couldn't see it on the UK or US CP discography, what were they thinking ?
