  1. Place a free ad on SS in the Wants section, best know how much you want to pay. Looking for a UK or US copy (or Dutch) ?
  2. Thanks, I assumed it was something like that.
  3. I have to assume that the Philly Groove is a legitimate re-issue however when I heard it didn't sound the same as the orignal Mercury issue. I see there's an issue on Monumental, pressing ? Thanks Chris
  4. Love the shirt..................
  5. Spoke to him in 1998 when I was in LA. He had become an orthodox jew and turned his back on showbizz and nicking records.
  6. True, if you filter "Northern Soul" on Ebay about 5000 records pop up
  7. Could some kind soul track and publish the end prices ? would be interesting to see what they reach, some are quite high already. Would do my self but am travelling Good luck !
  8. Thing looking much better, just spoke to him, he said "Just a minute, let me put my fag out and finish this bacon buttie" He's back home and pointing in the right direction.................
  9. You're right what a cracking set...................
  10. The scene was built on dancing to uptempo Motownesque records, fill or empty the floor, latter not required thank you.
  11. No Pete there is, you and had a discussion about it back in the old KTF days, I've had the sh*tty vinyl one, still have an original and have seen the gold coloured one. The styrene re-issue looks just like the original but the run in and run outs are wider.
  12. I used to have one years ago, I paid £15.00 for it wasn't aware it was a re-issue.
  13. Looking for a pressing of Duke Browner, on that styrene version pressed by Monarch. Runout number would be in the 100.000+ region, not sure it's 101.000 or 104.000. Many thanks Not that vinyl one with the p**s poor sound quality or that gold Liberace one..
  14. In the early 50s and closed 1969 (I think)
  15. Made it to the Flamingo, it wasn't really a soul club like the Wheel or such. They'd play some soul records, UK issue stuff but most clubs in the London area did that anyway. There were a few other clubs that would play soul but no real "soul club". Make no mistake the UK soul scene is and always will be a northern affair, as someone once said "Northern Soul doesn't travel well". Scariest club I ever went to in London was the Alphabet Club, only went twice, reckoned I wouldn't make out alive a third time
  16. My internet radio station is just playing "Ordinary Joe", nice...............................
  17. Heart trouble ? Get better soon Mr Rivers................
  18. Cheap, must be worth more..................
  19. The New Jersey lot.
