  1. Danny Woods was never booted in the 70s. Like chalky says can see labels been glued on. More fool the people buying them. There's enough information on originals and boots out there now. So no excuse for the ridiculous prices
  2. Mines already on the skeggy weekender has been for a while
  3. I stand corrected lol should have known I ask Carl for it enough times
  4. Deon Jackson is a 10' acetate Carl fortnum.. There's also another unissued track by him " the power of love" same as the esquires on wand. But slightly faster and better production Imho

Defo home made job. Tony Clarke from Notts is a massive mirwood fan he has every release on issue and demo and there was never a demo of this. Took him years to collect them all.
  6. I'm sure Kev will be able to shine some light on your question. Yes essential at the time for the new intake of youth around that time just getting into the music. Good mix of tracks too. From classic oldies to more obscure lesser played stuff.

Chris King soulsam . Seem to remember Rob Smith being on too. Will check echoes from that time. I'm sure nev wherry was on at some point. First met Rob wigley there.
  9. Think you're right chalky. And just because their sentenced doesn't me someone else may be running the operation for them.??? As for Burnett well like yourself I know that name well. Maybe a coincidence but instinct tells you otherwise. Time will tell. As you stated they did sell some legit stuff.
  10. Tell that to all the modern and crossover guys I'm sure you'll get a favorable reply. Each to their own. But do you even like current plays??
  11. I can see your point guys very true re different musical tastes change by the time the last night came I'd done my time from 74 it just left a bitter taste. Spent nearly every Saturday night there never attended the oldies night. If people had stuck round towards the end they would have realised that most of the new tunes coming through were the start of the next generation far more soulful than some of the stuff played between 77_78. In a way I was glad we were fooled that last night for many of us was the start of the dark years and the hundreds of quality tunes that many eventually missed out on. and still refuse to accept today As for the casino it was good while it lasted. Made loads of life long friends from near and afar. As for the media at the casino it wasn't really needed all it did was make the public more aware of the place and highlight the drug problem. Which I should imagine went down a storm with the local plod. You can imagine police hq. Right guys there's gonna be hundreds more drug taking teenagers heading our way we gotta close this place at any cost. Or something along those lines. Any it came we saw we went. We moved on now days I'd sooner listen to a cheap semi known or unknown sound or even some of the fantastic new releases from the States. Long may the scene thrive which ever path you choose.
  12. The very same person whom started the casino was also responsible for its demise. With ventures into the charts TV crews and a final night that never was

  24. Totally agree I would much sooner have to travel a 1000 miles to listen Butch than have every wanna be soul nite dj thrash them to death. Without tunes like this the real soul scene wouldn't exist
  25. It may be guess work and theories like most things that are discovered are to start with. You have to sift though hearsay rumours etc and eventually end up with the truth . A little detection
