  1. Libra was covered as mystic moods remember that night well
  2. No there was that but was another as well
  3. Soon be Saturday roll on for another top night of quality dabtastic soul with great like minded people, the east coast comes west See you there Steve
  4. Seem to remember an article on the casino 1979 maybe 1980 in the daily mirror, seem to think it was centre spread. Called dance baby dance or something like that. Anyone remember it or any info
  5. Bootlegs were white and styrene sounds like you may have a boot with a photo copy label on you can split side if the other side is white
  6. I'm sure if you contact John Poole or rob wigley they'll be able to give you the exact artists and dates
  7. Garth think he was from Newark way always used to go down the brit in Notts mid to late 70's
  8. No footage to my knowledge and attended most events there from 74 onwards. I've got loads of photos I'll have to load to gallery at some point Regards Steve
  9. Now do you mean Tony curlew curly to the Notts crowd
  10. Could Janice actually be janeen Andrea Henry??
  11. Andrea was I deed ja Neen
  12. Possibly the best dancer the scene has seen free flowing relaxed great foot work spins in time the works and like said a top man too.
  13. Agree with Frank Beverly Hmv used to knock them out at a £5 in the late 70's In Notts
  14. The only way you get it is like we did when we first went you stood you watched in awe and felt the rhythm and beat and off you went, and we had floor etiquette you bumped into someone you apologised, now days you get verbal abuse from some quarters. Like most on here I pick and choose which venues I attend with like minded people and steer clear of the money making retro side. As for giovanni bless he tried mind willing body said otherwise. As for radio 2 well 40years+ too late
  15. Why do these people do this that's what I want to know
  16. Who ever started the revival wants shooting theyve totally split the scene, and the scene as we knew it will never be the same. Gone are the great days of the 80's early 90s hundreds of new records being played and yes we wanted to dance and hear new stuff. Great times and proud to have been a part of it.
  17. A merry Christmas to all members and a prosperous new year
  18. If you listen to the cd cut it crackles just like the acetate
  19. I'd say that the someday the sun will shine was done of a cut off Carl fortnums acetate. Definatly before Carl got it though I've had the cd for a bout 16 years.
  20. Both were played out at the lifeline allnighter and other upfront venues several years back. No way does this sound like Bob and Fred to my ears. Bob and Fred sounds more like a sidra production, hence why it was covered up as Ronnie and robyn. As for Eddie Hughes and Don hysong Eddie Hughes wins my vote sounding more soulful.
  21. You got me hummin superb release on salsoul
  22. If the masters were destroyed in the fire then perhaps any collectors dj, s with original acetates should lend them to ace/Kent for remastering for future reference or release. As we all know viynl and acetate recordings don't last forever.
  23. He does a superb unreleased version of the Esquires you've got the power
  24. So not heard this since Stafford the instrumental to Sweeter than the day before. Massive for Guy know it was acetate only any other info guys
  25. Just to lighten the mood here's a story that you can will make you both laugh and cry about said record. When johnathan woodliffe obtained said record. He couldn't resist showing it to everyone on the coach to cleethorpes. Several people took it from its crisp white sleeve to check it over, eventually ending up on the back seat with Rob Smith. Whom proceeded to turn it on its side and said single fell from the sleeve and rolled the full length of the coach into the foot well of the door the look of shock and horror on everyone's face was priceless. Fortunately the said sound lived to be hammered to death.
