Totally agree chalky great to see Anthony and his carer's with such a great relationship, great to see his enthusiasm reminds me of when I first started, As for the 3 Nottingham soul clubs he visited. Coming from Notts myself having been on the scene 46 years I can safely say I didn't know any of the so called soulies. I wish Anthony every success and if he's visited groovin in Derby he's on the right road.

Getting to nighters
Once walked back from Stafford to Nottingham with 4 others after our lift decided to go home at 3am. Worst thing was I had my dj box with me as I was running the Notts palias soul nites. We did that then went to Stafford. Got back home around 5.30pm and was out again to dj at the polish club Notts on the Sunday night. Those where the days

Keb played it around 83 84ish Dave and Rod prior to that more recently Tim brown, mick h and of course butch. And of course Richard was the first late 79 covered as Micky valvano, played the same night as the combinations c/u chessmen nurons earnestine eady and a few others.

Only a handful of copies, yes agree in this age condition doesn't seem to matter for records like this to go for silly money. Must say I prefer a more mid tempo crossover sound these days. Easier on the legs lol
