  1. As stated no demand for a boot I've had both releases over the years. Was a massive record at Stafford when first played as trade Martin
  2. Keb played it around 83 84ish Dave and Rod prior to that more recently Tim brown, mick h and of course butch. And of course Richard was the first late 79 covered as Micky valvano, played the same night as the combinations c/u chessmen nurons earnestine eady and a few others.
  3. I'm sure it will top between 3500 & 4000.
  4. Only a handful of copies, yes agree in this age condition doesn't seem to matter for records like this to go for silly money. Must say I prefer a more mid tempo crossover sound these days. Easier on the legs lol
  5. I was gonna say that too old Dave Thorley spin
  6. There's a tune even faster than this I used to play covered up as Micky valvano and the C.O.D's by Rico Barr and Boston barristers in the 80's. Yea agree this was a little fast even back then
  7. Deon Jackson that's what you do to me
  8. Me too way to fast to dance to these days sure it will go for a few dollars
  9. The cod's. She's fire a record that's never turned up in quantity this old Richard searlings Micky valvano cover up had stood the test of time rarety wise with only a handful of known copies, what do you think this will fetch
  10. It was played on solar last Sunday funny enough
  11. Heard this on solar radio also been looking for it.
  12. Think it was a spare as Gary had the vondells off him at the same time.
  13. Think I have a playlist from the night in a copy of the soul sauce mag Chris fletcher used to write somewhere I check when I get home.
  14. Mick seem to think it was Dave Raistrick that found this as he was first to play it. Notts Palais nighters late 79 Covered as Bob Relf along with Elbie Parker c/u pookie Hudson eddy Jacobs exchange c/u Ronnie mcneir and a few others on the same night Regards Steve
  15. Will do I do seem to recall him playing an issue at the dome when I used to travel with him
  16. The issue label in the picture looks like a boot as the blue is to pale but I'm sure Mick H had a original issue of this and maybe Carl fortnum I'll check with them when I get home. I don't recall seeing any boots of this superb tune but nothings scared these days.
  17. Their best unreleased track by a country mile originally played at Stafford by guy Hennigan as the Del_phis let this torch burn. Was great to see them sing it live at the cleethorpes weekender a few years ago hairs stood up on back of my neck
  18. Going stir crazy guys and gals, missing your weekend fix of soul?? Due to the coronavirus. Well problem is solved we could have facetime allnighters or dj's could do live streams from home and you could dance in your living room or kitchen, you could email your requests.
  19. Perhaps we should all start playing home made cd, s no one would nick them run for Cover flack Coming my way lol
  20. Trouble is at some venues there's so many records behind the decks numerous boxes in many cases it only takes a few seconds for someone to lift some if the dj is distracted by someone asking for a request. The decks area should be a no go area like chalky said.
  21. Oops at work not concetrating lol
  22. Deffo original Steve silver ones were done by the owner of Castle records if memory serves me right. Kev Roberts best man to ask Regards Steve
  23. Anything by Mr womack is great but sadly home has been hammered to death over the last few years now prefer 110 Street or daylight as for xover oldies Bessie banks don't you worry. Barbara Hall you brought about a change. Sly slick and wicked surely, agree bad weather Inc awesome tune Regards Steve
  24. Hi Steve unfortunately this is what's wrong with the scene now. Too many wannabee dj's playing boots of overplayed oldies, and little respect for promoters who have served their time, and invest money trying to keep it fresh. Just look at Notts more venues that you can wave a stick at. Only two I'd attend probably same as you.
