  1. I take it that it's a grapevine demo your looking for as no us demo was unreleased until r searling got a rca acetate,
  2. You could be right mate I also have the alt take of delegates of soul
  3. Top tune had this around 14 years since Andy Dyson & Mick H played it at lifeline niters
  4. Hi Len I'd did that in furlough can't beat bit of star wars, also watched all 4 ip man films stay safe mate see you soon
  5. I'm sorry if I upset anyone but there seems to be a lot of selfish sods about who just want to make money, put on a venue and sod the concequences. I too want to attend venues again I've danced since I was 14 and love djing, But I'm not prepared to pray on other's weaknesses. We're all in this together, the more we mingle the more chance of a second wave. Let's just all be sensible do the right thing we can hold out till the new year . I too have seen umpteen photos on social media of folk dancing. Greedy Promoters and weak management for not enforcing the rules should pull the plug if they dance. We've lost too many already. The government should have brought the new restrictions in straight away not leave it till Monday, as for the fines they should be instant, not friendly warning then fined if caught a 2nd time, this just shows weakness on governments behalf. Anyway rant over stay safe,
  6. Gary got it same time as he brought both moses dilllards Sammy sevens and Richard Anthony and couple of others of him
  7. Chalky it was Richards Ernest mosley then Gary Rushbrooke brought it off him,
  8. That was my point, total fake but like stated not mentioned in sellers discription, knwe it wasn't real but thought would point it out to anyone who may have thought otherwise. Luckly I have been privileged to know 2 djs who have originals. Mick H and Gary Rushbrooke, when he got it off Richard, always wanted a copy.
  9. Just scrolling on evil Bay and came across this Del Tours sweet and lovely to my eyes this looks like a boot label wrong type and wrong colour to start with, run out groove looks to big as well. Doesn't state its orig but I'm sure some unsuspecting soul will pay stupid bucks for it.
  10. My time started at school Beeston fields in Notts I had 3 top mates a year or so older Tony Clarke Glyn Sissons and Tommo (Notts) they would bring records to school with portable player and we'd spendunch break in the annix dancing, my first venue was a Friday soul night called Colemans in Nottingham, you went there before we could go to the legendary Brit club. From there I attended the Casino every Saturday from 74 till the first last night, along with Mick H. and a few others, after the casino shut it was Clifton Hall, St Ives, cleethorpes, Stafford was the Turing point for me musically as a Dj. I had previously had a massive oldies collection which I decided to sell, as I'd always like dancing to the newer discoveries, so I broughtoads of Stafford sounds and lots of unknowns at the time, still buying u knows now, as for venues after well stayed with the nighters up till around 3 years ago still do weekenders, but as years march on prefer a good quality soul night, with a bit of everything,so can't wait to get going again. Regards Steve
  11. That makes 3 it started when R. W. Aloud the bloody TV crews into the casino. That caused many true soul fans to leave the scene, so they missed out on Stafford. Unfortunately, some returned to the sideshow now touted as the soul scene. I been on the scene since 74, unfortunately to young to attend torch and wheel, but the scene I joined was totally different to today's new sounds were accepted not scorned upon. As for the virus time will tell,
  12. Totally agree mate the 80,s soul scene was a far healthier place, oldies where on the back burner at most venue's very few div, s wannabees about and new discoveries were accepted by most, ow day's new discoveries are treated with distain by the masses, funny thing is if it wasn't for the soul fans of the 80's there would have been a scene for the wannabees, divs etc to attend now. As for the situation now well we just have to stay safe and bide our time, hopefully the better venue's will prevail till then we will have to dance in our kitchens. Ps great 100club set the other week Russ
  13. Sad news indeed superb artist first saw him with the ric-tic review at Notts palias early 80"s, such a humble man Thanks for the memories Rip Lou
  14. View from brownsea Island Dorset
  15. There's only 3 people who will ever know, the buyer the seller and the Inbetween man. Wouldn't surprise me, as people seem to pay any amount for shagged big money record's. So in the grand skeem of things £100k for a decent copy of DILY is believable
  16. So what the score just seen this listed on discogs for. £325. 2014 drizabone remix I brought it for £10 when released , thought there was loads about. Also seen it fetch £200+on ebay why so expensive for a relatively new release.
  17. I gree with you Andy good luck to him, he obviously loves the record for me it was a great record at the time but unfortunately has been hammered to death at venues since 77.on another note does this set the precedent for the asking prices to spiral on the likes of mello souls, Lester Tipton, Eddie Parker, Don Gardner. Etc. Your average collectors are being priced out the market, by things like this. But good luck with his Investment
  18. https://www.harboroughmail.co.uk/news/people/its-finding-holy-grail-harborough-multi-millionaire-spends-ps100000-worlds-most-valuable-motown-record-2934113?amp. Jaw dropping amount the world's gone mad. I'd sooner buy a holiday home abroad
  19. Keeping up with the joneses
  20. Not available neal I wrote to Daptone sometime ago there's no plans to release it in the for see able future. Regards Steve
  21. One of the best videos on you tube, what amuses me is that most of the passing people haven't got a clue who this guy is and probably think he's nuts. Would have loved to have been there.
  22. The first night Jimmy wensoria played this at Notts Rock City in 85 it blew you away. Not sure it's vocal in perfection though, seems more like a warble in his voice which seems to be the norm with many of today's artists. Perhaps he was ahead of the Times. Still a superb tune, and floor filler a rare nites.
  23. Can't wait gilly count me in for a copy Steve
  24. Seem to remember hearing it to maybe on soul galore,
