Sorry to hear Life lines taking a break not been to any since the move from the stables due to work commitments , but live and die by the ethos that Mick and Andy set out with . I did a revue of the second nighter they did at Sheridans it's on here some were will try and find it . but to me the musical policy never changed .It's just that over the years musical tastes have changed . Looking forward to see where the New venue in Nottingham will be in the new year

  15. totally agree mate might see you at the palias as the last good nites there were the mid 80's ones on a Saturday
  16. That's one of the point's I was trying to make Dave , the masses no longer want the northern scene driven by new discoveries their quiet happy listening to the tried and tested ,thank god that the modern/crossover scene still as the ethos of trying new discoveries and new releases , I for one cannot comprehend how folk can go week in week out dancing to the same records . surely at some point they must want something different , but each to their own i'll stick to playing something different always have always will.
  17. Hi Kegsy in reply to your question I was on about the whole scene . as Steve .g's stated is fragmented beyond repair , which I blame mainly on past big promoters bowing to the oldies fest. If said promoter's had grown a pair and kept all gerne's under one roof then the new discoveries would have probably been accepted more openly instead of a small minority of us who be it 60's 70's or up todate try and get these sounds accepted. There have only been a hand full of promoters willing to push the boundaries Ady with the 100 club ,Dave with Stafford Mick , Andy,& Chalky with life line ,the Burnley boys etc. I also attend the modern room at venues some blinding stuff played pity the mass's wont accept it . Their loss our gain .
  18. how about Harry Nilsson https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9evaJbSjHD0 you cant take your love from me was covered up as johnny caswell in the 80's
  19. OK HERE WE GO IT SEEMS THAT THE SCENE AS GONE TOTALLY CRAZY AND IT'S BEING DESTROYED BY TWO MAIN FACTORS THE FIRST BEING THE RIDICULOUS SPIRALLING PRICES OF RECORDS. REALITY CHECK PEOPLE MOST OF THESE TUNES HAVE BEEN ROUND A VERY LONG TIME AND SOME PEOPLE DONT REALISE JUST HOW MANY COPIES ARE ACTUALLY OUT THE EPITOME OF SOUND A GOOD EXAMPLE A CERTAIN SHOP IN NOTTS HAD MORE COPIES THAN YOU COULD WAVE A STICK AT, AND THERE'S PLENTY MORE LIKE IT AND TO TOP IT THERE STILL TURNING UP, DOESNT THAT TELL PEOPLE SOME THING ????? LIKE IT AINT THAT RARE . THE SECOND FACTORS SEEMS TO BE THE STUPID AMOUNT OF VENUES MAINLY PLAYING THE SAME 100 + SOUNDS WEEK IN WEEK OUT . FOR GODS SAKE WHY DONT THEY JUST HOLD ONE BLOODY NITE IF THATS ALL THEY WANT TO HERE . WHATS THE POINT OF 50 ODD VENUES ALL PLAYING THE SAME , YOU MAY AS WELL ALL GO TO THE SAME PLACE, MAKES SENSE DOSN'T IT ??? AS FOR THE RARER SIDE OF THE SCENE THESE VENUES ARE FEW AND FAR BETWEEN AND MOST ARE TO FAR TO TRAVEL TO THESE DAYS FOR ME DUE TO WORK COMMITMENTS . WHATS YOUR THOUGHTS GUY'S

Just been on ebay to check finish price on the d.c. magnatones only ever seen 3 in 20 odd years there's now another one up for sale that's two in as many day's perhaps its not as rare as thought
  22. WHAT DID YOU EXPECT pigs will fly before there's a decent program made on the scene
  23. it was a soul Sam spin way before Gary got it and yes covered as the agents
  24. And that's why the scene's in the sorry state it's in to commercialised promoters only in it for the money ( not you Maryam) we know who im on about and the curse of the casino have all dragged this scene down and apart . Good luck tonite I hope they do a better job than previous attempts
  25. great Sean your right the windmill Rotherham was a great venue on a sunday I used to travel up with Rob Smith and George you used to play some cracking modern tunes along with Steve Mannion if I remember right regards steve
