  1. Seem to think read a snippet somewhere that the colt 45'd where indeed one Steve colt whom also had a release on RCA
  2. Just a heads up apparently a well known former promoter is being persuade for stealing records from several record shops in the states. I hope this does not have any repercussions on fellow Brits visiting the shops. How the hell this guy thinks he can get through security at the airport I don't know. I'm sure the appropriate authorities have been informed . Comments guy's and gals
  3. Defo boot if it's styrene both originals I've had have been none styrene and bell sound stamp
  4. The group had one rockie Robbins amongst it's line up .He has just released a new single " good life" on passion records and is appearing at the jazz cafe in London on Sunday 10th March

  9. It's The Carltons " ooh baby " argo
  10. My point exactly the main stream side of the scene as now become a massive joke. and sadly yes we disassociate ourselves from it as it's not what the scenes about
  11. That's my point I don't mind oldies as long as they are not hammered to death , most whom still like to hear new sounds can cope with that , it's the one's whom just like oldies that can't cope they forget all the sounds they like we're once newies. Which is a pity I would like nothing better than to see the scene reunited like it used to be .It saddens me to see the splinters in the scene.
  12. I do agree with most of what you say but a good dj should have the balls to not be afraid to empty a floor . Every record ever played as been a new spin at some point and many have emptied a floor before becoming huge records .just because the floor empties people think it's the end of the world .And if the djs good at his job. Be it a large room or small should be able to bring it back
  13. In theory great idea But we all know it wouldn't work. The div's clownsuits handbaggers , would never accept or appreciate rare, rarely played, crossover or modern , anything apart from their previous overplayed played out hammered to death 500 would not be accepted even for a hour. Hence multi room venues.
  14. Norma Jenkins & Larry & the hippies are actual 60's recordings Norma Jenkins being a mega rarety on maltese and Larry & hippies an unreleased side from toddlin town. The illusions tracks been Taylor made for the northern scene using exus trex as a backing track. I doubt it's legit as well knowing who's behind it.
  15. Yes rick that's right I also brought it as a new release after my step daughter heard it on a u.s.a.f station .she was dating a us airmen at the time. Wonder if the 7" is the radio edit version. The only one you could play out .
  16. No 7" to my knowledge did look for one a while back great tune . Did a pretty good version of love is alright. Too
  17. Wanda Mcdaniels" Gangster boy " class ohio sister soul .not your stereo type northern or modern .left field oddity pushing the boundaries typical Sam
  18. Johnny Hampton not my girl class detriot . Sam as been a big influence on my musical tastes along with searling .butch .Ken. guy. Mick h .Andy Dyson and a few others. And in general what Sam plays now the rest usually end up playing as oldies. Remember when he first played flame & king .what's this shite folk used to say now every oldies dj hammers it to death. Long may Samsung influence reign
  19. Superb list just up my street love the cover ups as well:-)
  20. Not heard it yet mate he told me he'd got it a couple of weeks ago at dab of soul.
  21. So is the servicemen acetate Mick H has on the servicemen c d ??

  23. Here's the best Leroy Taylor " not the marrying kind"
  24. To true if the masses don't appreciate this there's no hope. When ever I see butch he knows of what I'm gonna ask him to play. . This little beaut .my musical tastes may have mellowed over the last few years .to more crossover and modern but get this on the decks and I'm there full on ripping the floor up.
