when i was 16 i used to have relatives in manc, and spent all my money on clothes and records when up there visiting,and for a while working , and for me soul and the now mcdonalds /coke advert vehicle that is football was interlinked cos both were frequented by the same people , you just felt at home amongst your own ..we used to leave gloucester on a friday and get back sunday evening ...and end up in the local shit tip club... who had "chairman of the board , edwin star stylistics real thing " etc on regularly.... soul was mainstream in many ways , chart artists also had tunes only the soulies knew , it was great ........... but move on.... its gone..............when there is never a record i havent heard that i desire on e bay or in someones set..............then .....i may .just may wanna go out and listen to records i have heard 100s of times before ...........what this thread is about i know longer recall or care .........not used to bein in on a saturday...cheers ez

i try to do the same ..........its the hunting i enjoy, buy low sell high,................ doesnt always work but many friends of mine are expert in this regard and i have learnt from them.................. .......... people like me can get the occasional spot, mostly early on, and thats perfect cos we dont have the depth of collection or experience to dj regularly in a big room niter at 4am ...................but hopefully can add something differant to start a niter off in an interesting way...........cheers ez.........

always something to find,,,,,,,, ,you lot amaze me with your dedication to finding the records you do , and your knowledge of the history of a particular recording and the circumstances, personel etc ,,,personally i think its the unknowns that are more interesting, especially as i spent 30 years not even looking and would love to find a belter to knock you lot sideways..... .............,fat chance ..still looking ... its not the money ...its the "wow what is that ? remarks that are priceless to the record hound .................. but a thread like this encourages us all to keep hunting, if i had found the record discussed i would sell it..........cos we know the tune ...........it will always be a .wonderful recording and ...im sure the buyer will cherish it as i do all mine , regardless of monetary value ..regards ez................

this may help ........... regarding the latest new run of rockabilly/ blues type things.........................the price is the same for almost all of them.., there mint ...............and cheap .......thats the big give away ..........and the same sellers list them in batches ussually ..................................loads on offer if you type in" blues" in vinyl records search on us e bay .....the older repros are ussually i think, old store stock so mint and cheap also.......some sellers mention the fact there repros ,some dont ....look in sellers feedback, see how many of any one item he has sold also .......ezzie
