  1. You're all talking rubbish, Richards Marks - Did You Ever Lose Something is far & away the best on the label (and the funk side's pretty strong too).
  2. Seldom-seen Detroit rarity for sale, at £250. It's up on my website with a photo & soundclip: www.concourserecords.com cheers, George
  3. Website updated: www.concourserecords.com Differences on Mon'Ca Mixed Sugar on F.G.S. Silky Vincent on Hook-Up Henry Boatwright on Genesis Natural Love on RSP etc etc. cheers, George
  4. Big list just up, ending Friday - copy & paste the link: https://shop.ebay.com/concourse*records/m.html?_nkw=&_armrs=1&_from=&_ipg=&_trksid=p3686 Soul on pages 2 & 3. cheers, George
  5. Ultimate Ovation - Hello Baby on the same Aquarius label is also pretty good, if not quite in the same category as the Domestic Five or Soul In-Pressions. Does anyone know if there are any more than the four releases mentioned so far?
  6. ...and plenty of good cheap records too. ww.concourserecords.com PM or email ruralconcourse@yahoo.com to reserve, or use the credit card checkout. cheers, George
  7. Finishing very shortly.
  8. This lot ends on Tuesday night: https://shop.ebay.co.uk/concourse*records/m.html?_nkw=&_armrs=1&_from=&_ipg= I can't get the link to work properly, but copy & pasting should do the trick. cheers, George
  9. I sent a letter to Mr Whiteside when Rob asked - I think the album is a good listen, like a more interesting Stevie Wonder LP, especially the previously unreleased track I Want To Show You which is a good dancer & really should have been put on a 45 instead of repressing Try Me. And the sleeve notes were awesome.
  10. Dewey Jeffries has gone too, but some blinding records still there!
  11. Thanks for letting me know - it should be working fine again now. Headlines, Roy Porter, Endeavours, Hot Ice Company, Fabulettes & King James Version are sold, but there's still some really nice stuff up there. Please email to reserve rather than using the credit card system if possible.
  12. Lots of decent soul & funk stuff just added: https://www.concourserecords.com Please email to reserve, rather than using the credit card system: ruralconcourse [at] yahoo.com cheers, George
  13. It's an old Pat Brady cover-up from the early '80s, isn't it? I'd like it a lot better if the vocals didn't sound so white, but the funk side still holds up pretty well.
  14. second batch ending in a few hours.
  15. first batch ending tomorrow.
  16. Really? Sod it, I'll keep it then.
  17. Joey Irving clips - CAN YOU HANDLE ME GIRL: https://www.ithinkmusic.com/samples/samples...andlemegirl.mp3 WHAT HAPPENED TO THE LOVE WE KNEW: https://www.ithinkmusic.com/samples/samples...eloveweknew.mp3 Best offer is a meagre $550 at the moment At this rate, it's not going anywhere.
  18. I just added a few more nice ones: Collaboration on Mohawk Betty Lavette on Epic James Wayne on Key-Lan Matt Covington on April Gene Taylor on Minit Billy Butterfly on Positive Magic Pure Pleasure on QC
  19. CONCOURSE AUCTIONS Kool Blues on Capsoul Free & Easy on Pokoe (unknown modern soul from Surinam) Apple & Three Oranges on Sagittarius Jus'Us on Verdam Allison King Funk on South Funk Ent. (dancer from Houston) Gaylords Power Union on Trex (!!!) And lots more, all with audio. More going up later. CONCOURSE AUCTIONS That's if you can trust me, now that I have negative feedback because some idiot's 12" got lost in the post and he didn't even bother to let me know about it before tarnishing my reputation cheers, George
  20. This is a fundraiser for immediate paypal credits, hence USD pricing. I wouldn't be particularly happy to see any of them go, so leftovers will go straight back on the shelf once I've hit my required total. No holds, first come first served. I'm taking bids on the two for offers until Thursday night. Joey Irving: Can You Handle Me Girl / What Happened To The Love We Knew (Vincent) EX serious offers His rarest and arguably best. Massive funk/crossover, with an equally great morose midtempo flip. Only a small scattering of copies are knocking around in collections. Walter Washington: Mary Jane / Goody Man (Power) EX, close to M- serious offers Severely rare and hard-as-nails double-sided NOLA funk monster feat. Eddie Bo & co. James Monroe: Frontiersman of the Galaxy / Funky Lady (Magic Touch) M- $375 Top quality funky modern with much atmosphere, current play for Dave Ripolles etc. Fabulous Moonlighters: For Granted / I've Lost Again (Blue Eagle) M- $200 Brilliant uptempo funky Northern from Indiana, had a few spins at Stafford and getting some action again now courtesy of Wrighty and the Rustler. Solid deep flip too. Sensational Little Doc & his Rhythm Express: My Precious Love / Mellow Dreamin' (Music-Go-Round) M- $125 Lovely crossover / ballad from the same S.C. team as Paul Burton etc The Poets Of Rhythm: Hotpie's Popcorn / Pt.2 (Hotpie & Candy) EX $90 Their first ever release, strong uptempo funk & obviously hard to find nowadays.
  21. Have a look: https://shop.ebay.com/merchant/concourse*records cheers, George
  22. In his book Mystery Train, Greil Marcus has a chapter called Sly Stone: The Myth Of Staggerlee, which is decent reading for anyone interested in the subject.
  23. Cheers Mark, I'm ok thanks. I try and "price to sell, not to sit"...
