  1. I went through the Paul For Music stock back in the late 80's...I recall Paul and David...I was their Charly Records rep at the time. I also recall the unopened Chess labelled boxes, including Dells - Make sure...if you grabbed a x25 count box out of a x200 main box then it was me who split it open! Like you I didn't get much out of it...I did however get a nice bunch of UK label 45's from a shop just off the Old Kent Road (not far from the Charly offices)...all mint and unplayed...including Roy Hamilton - Panic, Shane Martin and mutiple copies of various other bits and bobs. This would've been back in the mid 80's. Happy days when i was a knight of the road travelling up and down the land having to go to record shops as a job!
  2. Oddly enough it took me 5 years to get a Japanese 7" of this one...also from Japan...odd that!
  3. I'm a big fan of this track...pure Northern Soul at its uptempo best...cracking dance track...recommended to anyone if they don't know it! As Ernie states, never been a biggie due to the fact that it has always been easy to find/dead cheap...and don't ever see that changing. Mind you, it has taken me 5 years to finally track down a Japanese 7" of it...I was delighted...did it come out in any other countries?
  4. Chucking my two-penneth in your honor:I did St.Ives albeit later than when said disc was first exposed (curse me for being soooooo young )...I got the c/up info from the guy who first turned it up (in Watford!) and sold it on! If the concensus is The Sparkles I'll be more than happy to amend my infamous cover-up list!
  5. Also need these: Spooky & Sue - I've got the need - Negram JJ Barnes - Day tripper - RicTic WDemo JJ Barnes - Real humdinger - RicTic WDemo Edwin Starr - Headline news - RicTic WDemo Al Kent - Way you've been acting - RicTic Demo
  6. For reference: it was just about in every sales box and on every sales list for £8 and less during the 80's when 100's of copies turned up...along with the Chuck Danzy & Lonnie Lester 'Ain't that a shame' 45 also on Nu-Tone...also a great track but not as Northern as YCG.
  7. Am happy to trade any discs within the x8 pages of sales discs on my site: >>> Sales Pages <<< Many thanks for looking!
  8. Thank you, squire...thoug it looked mighty fine on Japanese London Sticking with the fella in question, I love his, 'Give me more time' on UK Oriole...fab tumbling R'n'B
  9. Tangent...saw an LP by him the other day...asked the seller about it and he said it was Blues. Didn't have time to play it, but I was surprised and expected it to be a mixture of R'n'B/Pop/Ska? Did he do a Blues style LP?
  10. Never seen one over here Mind you, never say never and I look forward to one day unearthing a box of 'em
  11. My last copy I let go for £75 albeit was a whole 5 years ago now By the way, the version on the Kent CD is a touch longer than the released 45
  12. Off on a tangent...what did the Jimmy Armstrong go for which was also on the 'Bay at the same time as RayP?
  13. #6706 as ATS is the straight (and best) instrumental take of the infamous backing track to 'Moonlight, music and you' and its many forms. Beware though as some copies are mis-pressed.
  14. Agree with the Ferrett...overdue further needle-time...superb quality track that folk should hunt down for a listen, should they be unfamiliar with it
  15. Quality...lotta mileage left in this one...imo. Fabulous vocals, swirling organ-work...solid brass arrangement...yup like this one!
  16. Absolute classic Northern Soul...superb...anthem-like...love it
  17. I think this would possibly be more appropriate...say it with me now: ダソスフロアにようこそ

  19. At a guess you'd probably like this one as well...but alas I've never seen another copy...pretty ain't she
  20. Superb and Soulful...good price...recommended
  21. Always had a soft spot for this one The stock copies are indeed tough...I have a spare WD for £30, which I think is reasonable
  22. It was actually the 'Ross Robinson Orch'...both Keb and Guy played it at Stafford etc. I love it...pure Northern dance-track instrumental...but the needle on the Soul-o-meter hardly moves
  23. For reference: Jerry-O - Karate Boogaloo / Funky Boogaloo - Stateside Japan 7" ...and also on a Japanese Stateside LP comp too. Always LOVED this track!
