  1. I would buy up the Japanese copies for you, but I know you'd only want to trade a box of microwave chips and a half a shandy for 'em! C'mon people, someone must have the CSC fliers scanned already for me, surely? Check the website for the gaps. Ta very much.
  2. Yes, I got one...blue label variant...has its moments doesn't it. Most releases that I've come across on the label are 'almost there', but not quite even to my ears (yes, yes, yes, I know I have no taste!). My fave and best release (ino) on the label (and you'd LOVE it, Russ) is the wonderful double-sider from Bob Marshall - 'You got me cryin'' / 'I'm gonna pay you back'. Both sides are excellent scene-playable uptempo Northern.
  3. ...but alas the Slade 45 hasn't got the frickin' excellent flipside that the Billy Floyd has, 'Time made you change (Your mind)', which is defo worthy of venue turntable action...great sax break. Come to think of it, one of the first (if not the first) 45's I ever bought was Slade's 'C'mon feel the noise'. Yes, I am proud of that fact!
  4. Another super-quick delivery...gotta love the EMS Post service Nice copy, eh?! I found another one last Sunday too...no factory sleeve mind...I almost left it on the shelf in disgust!
  5. Hi Spud, Sadly, my 'Collector's affliction' is as virile as ever...possibly worse than it used to be, as I have also been diagnosed with 'Japanese releases' syndrome and a rather worrying 'Funky Disco' virus too. However, when it comes to illness, Carl is still #1! Hopefully see you NYE at Soul Revolution...flights are booked d. -ps If anyone has any of the missing fliers that they could scan and forward to me I'd be most grateful...and Greg will buy you a pint in return, honest like!
  6. Interesting, the scratched in matrix is RN 1185-3. The flip, 'Yesterday' is RN 1185-2. The original poster has also re-mailed me saying that they were probably wrong and that it IS a 1st issue after all. Has anyone seen a 'second' issue, or was it just a stab at a price reduction, perish the thought?! Thoughts?
  7. Sorry Phil, couldn't resist it. Here's the other relevant pic that hopefully makes up for the 'surprise' of the look of the band:
  8. I think you would look quite dashing in that 'smock', Tone Stuart, on the other hand, wants the tassled jacket...he told me...honest like
  9. Your heroes...cool dudes one and all!
  10. Be safe in the knowledge that I am keeping a stocker and a WD in my collection too! Sad I know, but hell I'm sure you understand...you do, don't you, I'm not the only one am I with this affliction, am I?! You got your copy framed up, Russ...hanging in the toilet or shed?
  11. I'll give it a week or so...UNLESS...someone makes me an offer I can't refuse that includes vinyl I need for myself (I'd be so lucky!)
  12. I put £100 on it hopefully reflecting great condition/rarity/quality track! What did the Manship auction copy go for in the end a few months back...anyone?
  13. Had someone email me and say that the Jackie Edwards I was offering was a second press (yes they also made a ££ offer). Naturally I am aware that JA companies were fond of repressing some tracks several times over, on different labels or blanks too...but...imo this is a definitive Wirl 1st press. Any thoughts?
  14. Had a few mails about the sleeves to Japanese releases, so thought I'd share this one with you all. Very frame-able and a MUST for the completist Ladies and gentlemen, Mr.Chuck Jackson...
  15. Really, have received several today, but nothing from your goodself!?
  16. Ladies and gentlemen, I give you a few pages of cyberspace dedicated to the club that rocked London between 1999 and 2004...yes it's the tribute pages to the... Capitol Soul Club pics scans reviews play lists >>> PRESS HERE - THE CSC PAGES <<< Enjoy...we did
  17. I've just updated the Sales pages over on Anorak's Corner>>> PRESS HERE <<< Lotsa new vinyl / styrene / acetates all mixed up ready to go James Wesley Smith - Talkin' 'bout Women Billy Floyd - My Oh My Homer Banks - Sweetie Pie Magic Tones - Solid Hit Lucky Charms - Sugarhill ...and a host of other family favourites, unissued acetates and a couple of Japanese issues too (The Capitol Soul Club tribute pages are also launched today too )
  18. If you want any Japanese presses, drop me a PM...7" and LP. They will be cheap if the project is worthy!
  19. Try: >>> HERE <<< Enjoy and feel free to add.
  20. May I suggest you listen to them again? Similar yes, but they are quite different recordings right from the off.
  21. So, what is their album worth which features both sides of this suddenly indemand track, which has been a favourite amongst the Japanese collectors for many moons?
  22. He cut quite a wedge of discs for Monument, most of which are of no interest to a Northern collector...but...this one seems to have slipped under the radar. If 50% of the Northern scene like his 'My baby's back' (too slow for the other 50%!), I reckon 75% will love this one by him (the other 25% preferring slowies!). It is an uptempo-bouncy feel-good Northern dance track with a wonderful long instrumental break!
