So, there I was thumbing through the shelves when I reached a clutch of Ric-Tic releases. I stopped at Edwin's "Agent Double-O-Soul" and recalled a Manship auction when John had a copy up for grabs of "Agent OO-Soul". He had noted that the matrix code ended with an "A" ... ZTSC104309 1 A to be precise, with the flipside being ZTSC104314 1 A...thus reflecting it came from the initial batch. Now, the copy I have (pictured) has the "1 A" on the main-side, yet "1 D"...odd that it had reached the 4th plate for the flipside yet were still using the initial plate for the main side?. Then I realised that the disc is actually on styrene not vinyl, so it would have been "injected" and not "stamped"...so the plates (not stampers) should've lasted a longer. So, what happened to the A, B and C plates for the instrumental...did they all get damaged?! So, sticking with this release only, who has which title, on what colour of label and matrix code combinations then...and apologies in advance for possibly the most Anorak question ever

Not my usual stuff, but currently have these two RARE Elvis Presley discs in my possession and up for offers...maybe someone on here moves within the R'n'R circles that appreciate the rarity of these two Elvis Presley and Janis Martin "Janis and Elvis" - 10" LP RCA, South Africa Janis Martin was being billed in America as "the female Elvis", so someone at RCA South Africa thought it was a great idea to release material by her and Elvis himself on the same record. However, Elvis' manager, Colonel Tom Parker somehow got wind of this and blew his top, #1:“NOBODY performs with Elvis!”; #2 it was called "Janis and Elvis" and not "Elvis and Janis"! Therefore, there was an immediate recall - apparently it was released on a Friday and pulled on the Saturday meaning very few copies remained in circulation…making it one of the world’s most elusive Elvis collectables…Janis Martin didn’t even know it was released! Condition: Playing surfaces: light marks and scratches, but no major defects…no skips/jumps. Labels: clean with some spindle marks. Sleeve - front: excellent…no ring-wear, creases, tears, stickers/marks or pen marks. Sleeve — back: excellent…slight creases from disc shape, no creases, tears, stickers/marks or pen marks. Nice on US Goldwax of course...classic album...but out of curiosity what's a UK Stateside copy go for nowadays?

With fear of writing too much, here I go: This is it...the rarest Japanese Northern Soul 7" there is: Willie Hutch - The Duck / Love Runs Out - RCA Japan Tough on a US Dunhill WD, very rare on a US Dunhill black stocker, a Holy Grail on French RCA...but on Japanese RCA it is the stuff of legend...in fact it was totally unknown to the Northern scene until I revealed its existence within the last few years. Yes, this absolute 100% classic double-sider...one of the best full-on Northern double-siders ever...gained a release in Japan during March 1966, though I doubt it even hit shop shelves, as you can count the copies known on one hand...fingers only! The labels are near mint...matt black with silver text...and it has a tri-centre so it looks like a vintage UK release!! In fact, apart from the recently found Darrell Banks stock copy this is probably the rarest Northern Soul 7" in the world to have a small-hole centre! It also boasts its original full-colour info sheet and the original factory sleeve is also near mint. The sound quality is perfect and the quality vinyl press only has a few very light marks on it...plays mint both sides. This disc has NEVER been up for sale on the Northern Soul scene...and may well never become available again as the only other copies are firmly glued into the top Japanese collections.
