  1. The label's owner's cat's name was, 'Lizard'. (My WD is exactly the same as Godzilla's...and yes I've also seen large font copies of stockers...but never as a WD.)
  2. Have sent youa PM, Vince I may be in Japan, but it seems the courier sevice I use can usually get a disc to a UK doorstep within 3 days...or less!
  3. 'One way love' came out on two different labels...the Eye label release has TYG on the flip, whilst the rarer label one doesn't. Not sure about the Zells connection, mind.
  4. One on my list for a mere £10, along with some other Lou Johnson 45's on Big Top and Big Hill. >>> CLICK HERE <<<

  8. What a super super super track and rare rare rare too! Congratulations in advance to the winner. Loadsa mileage left in this one.
  9. Nice one! I recall many, many moons ago - a good friend of mine went to get an obligatory Northern Soul fist tattooed on the top of her arm. On first revealing it to me, still fresh, we both thought that it looked all right...but...on the second glance I suddenly noticed a slight problem...it had five fingers and a thumb. Oh dear! How do you break that gently to a good friend?!
  10. For reference, the Decca release of this one is a totally different take. Both good.

  12. 909: You little Devil - Phil Flowers Awesome grinding Northern R'n'B. £40 on my site! Recommended.
  13. Last year I found a copy of Wilson Pickett on Verve...in Tokyo...with 'Andy Rix' scratched into the deadwax!
  14. How about a spiffy Japanese copy for a mere £25 + P&P I seem to recall my Redd Coach stocker being light blue?!
  15. The vocalist is Marcelino 'Junior' Morales. Bobby was playing trumpet at that stage of his career. The original Fania LP it appeared on is called, 'Let's turn on'. Oddly enough there is another good track on it called, 'Keep the faith'! This really was a MONSTER spin and helped shape the scene and really pave the way for other Latin sounds. (To the disgust of some folk!) LOVE IT!
  16. Slightly after the first bunch of Charly things that included RoscoeS etc. If it really matters to anyone!?!
  17. This isn't an 'ultra rare' disc by any stretch of the imagination...plenty of copies in collections, though £500+ is fair enough...imo. There are also two different label variations with regards to font and shade of label colour. It may not be hard-driving-stomping Soul...but it is VERY Northern...imo.
  18. What's the pic on the sleeve of the Aussie release look like? Is it yellowish with dancers on it?
  19. This is rare on the local Detroit label release prior to Checker....it is also a different take. Great Detroit male-group transistional Soul. Recommended if you like that sort of thing.
  20. For reference, as I'm getting plenty of emails about them...both the Four Pros and Mixed Emotions are sold and long gone. Plenty of other choice titles to be found on the sales pages, mind!
  21. Allow me Nick...they are the same recording. There is also an original 10" acetate floating around somewhere. Also worth nothing that Calvin William's version on Northern De-La is different (later?) recording and is very Lo-Fi and worth avoiding...imo.
