  8. So. just to recap then. this record is worth between £200 and £1000 basically nobody has a clue . good record, a bit too fast for today tho` dave
  9. used to see it in the 80s and 90s from time to time sometimes with reversed labels for as much as £200. Saw one recently for £600. I aint heard it out and about in years top tune tho` dave
  10. tho its very rare. the sound quality on the turbo release is worse than the p vine reissue. I bet the producer never worked again. im sure an original went for about £300 on the bay. the p-vine must be £60 by now. At least 5 good tracks for me. I dont want to lose you, sweet memories.............luvly wasnt dont take your love c/up as darrell banks ... who was long dead by the time it was recorded eh dave
  11. certainly heard a lot worse dave
  12. seriously folks. im not opposed to a bit of popcorn. ive picked up the odd cheap piece here and there but outside of northern i seem to buy more 70s and crossover types. honestly dave howard just dosent do it for me. ive heard better records by frankie vaughan and johnny mathis dave
  13. I think the only connection between belgium popcorn and northern soul is the fact they stay up all night to dance to it. surely it dosent mean it has to be played on our scene. the young uns are currently doin all night raves. hope this dosent cross over to northern..................or has it already dave
  14. hmmm. 500 copies. this record came out 5 years ago and up until last year you could get it from blow up for £4. been 3 copies on ebay in the last week. havent been that many joe jama or george lemons this week. I bet theres a few more than that about. I reckon blow up pressed up 5000 and of course theres the cd single to contend with dave
  15. seen a copy of this a while back fetching similar money i really dont understand what its all about . they say northern soul is a broad church but christ they are pushin the boundaries sooner listen to engelbert humperdinck dave
  16. not ganging up on you chalks but its not the greatest record in the world. would be two grand if it were better....... if yer know warra mean dave
  17. iknow which tree tony rounce is barking up. as our bry says, midnight is 1978 when co co represented us in eurovision. cheryl baker, who was in bucks fizz also sang on that........ i`ll get me coat
  18. bought "a new day" from tim brown a couple of weeks ago for £20. mint as well. whats that all about then dave
  19. it also came out on a uk compilation in 1991 on columbia records called "soul souveniers" my wife got it for me for christmas that year. but the chase was on for a 45. I was quoted at £10 for it. it took me 4 years to find it and ended up paying £30 for it. seems to be getting a lot of spins of late an ive seen it for as much as £150 . just shows what a few plays can do. Might play it at ponds forge t`morrer dave
  20. lp is "all the way live". cheap as chips. bought mine for $3 as a buy it now on ebay im sure there were other copies too. the 45 is a bit more expensive innit dave
  21. just recieved the wilson williams faith will bring it it home on abc from u girth. bloody marvellous tune. keep up the good work mate davepinch (one of two)
  22. thats pretty much my point. didnt say universal joint was a poor version.as you say girth not a lot in em. but i`ll stick wi j.r and sell t`other an put cash to summat else dave
  23. I used to play it in the early mid 90s and it always cleared the floor for me. ended up selling it to john manship for £400. recently john philips had one for sale at the last wilton for £500. rarest on the label but maybe not as in demand as say kenny gamble dave
  24. £40ish i would say. got a green un mesen dave
  25. i think its been on the bay 2 or 3 times and not sold for a fantastic amount and collectors and dealers always struggle to sell at £300+. perhaps this is because J R Bailey on calla was a top 50 r n b chart record and more readily available and a better record as well. maybe £200 a fair price dave
