yes its true to say that at a tenner id buy 10 copies and keep one meself coz ive never
had one. if they dry up which at some point im sure they will it might creep back up a bit.
but i really cant see it hitting the four figure perch it once sat on in my lifetime or my
great grandchilds lifetime either.................................and they aint born yet
dave
yes as far as i know its on italian rca only. available in a nice picture sleeve. i had a issue
and then found a nice white demo.its maybe a little on the long side but when ive played it
always gets people running to the decks. is the lp version a different take?
dave
top tune for me. was a bee original just gets it though.I think biondi`s vocal on was a bee is
better. i got a 45rpm 12in from italy but am i right in saying it came out in the uk as well
dave
sorry if my post was missunderstood earlier but i thought it was clear. but it does seem to me
to be one of the most requested along with jesse fishers "beginner" on this wants forum.
jesse fisher is a £25 record but sold on the bay for £80 only last week. this thread already has
three people queing for a copy of darrow fletcher and a couple of months ago spot was offering
£100 for a copy.like i said it all boils down to demand and not so much the rarity. remember
frank beverly on sassy or the four perfections on partytime. these records fetch ten times
what they are actually worth. i do have a darrow fletcher mint as well but i wouldnt sell it
for £150
dave
the becket label is the same as garfield fleming classic 80s dont send me away
isnt it. going back on topic, my balloon is great i think if not similar to here i go again
another atlantic one to watch out for..........archies in love
dave
hi albert
for a nice french copy in picture sleeve i would rate it around £50
im sure it came out in a couple of other european countries. I bought a nice
usa decca demo back last year for £15 which i thought was a snip. originally
had it on uk brunswick. hope this is of some help to you
dave
heyup malc
it made no 65 on the us pop charts and is pretty common in the states. I bought a half
decent issue for 99cents although i would like to add that a white demo would be nifty
and the uk copy is probably one of the harder red atlantics though not mega money
the flip side ` if this is love ' is actually good underated northern
dave
hi all. firstly i would like to say all the best for 2008 to everyone on this site.
happy new year
right then. tips from the back of my box. I noticed brief encounters what about love
made an appearance twice on last years list and i played it at the friendship the other night
so heres five that im going to play more this year given half a chance..........
1 original drifters - just let your heart be your guide - sounds south
2 modern image - gypsy - philly 76
3 tripplet twins - gonna change - magic touch
4 the chaumonts - when you love someone - baysound (use to play it b4 and i`ll play it again)
5 basic black and pearl - making of love - wam
some oddball sounds but i love em
dave
hi all
clem did a fantastic version of " i dont care what people say" on emi in 1974
original version of the carl douglas lp track played recently. althoughin my experience
its fairly hard to get. cant say id heard the clem and the foundations tune til john auctioned
it.
dave
must be my taste in soul tho and i can never get past mediocre in my opinion of this tune
if i had £1000 to spend there is 1000 records i would buy before this.......average at best
rarity b4 quality.
dp 1 of 2
just had a quick look. this guy probably woundnt know a soul record if you
hit him round the head with it. a bad situation to be in if you sell records
dave
it made no32 0n the national r&b charts and bubbled under the hot 100 pop charts.
thats why theres lots of issues green and yellow kickin about. from my experience
in the 80s and 90s there were boxes of the green ones turned up and e few yellow
ones tho i never saw these in multiples. i do think the white demo is a nice piece tho
dave
as we all know on the soul scene. A lot of records might not be that rare but its the
quality of the tune and the demand that creates the price tags. maybe this guy doesnt
like soul or has made enough mistakes to be very bitter about it all. every genre seems
to have collectors dedicated enough to get their hands in their pockets for records that are maybe
not as rare as some people think. you only have to go on popsike and look at the pistols
god save the queen on a&m and theres been a few on but it always goes for a stack o money
