i agree. most of the records on the northern scene are way overpriced and not that rare IMVHO. as a bit of a collector/dj im currently on my 3rd copy of bernard williams and sam dees. I sold my betty lloyd for £50 when it bottomed out some years ago ive never got round to buying it back mainly coz i cant afford the £300 to buy it back and i wouldnt pay that for it anyway. if you have stacks of money you can petty much buy 95% of the records ever played on the northern scene.my own experience has told me that youd get them in a couple of months and the rarer ones would follow within a year dave

1900 yesterday reached number 34 on the US hot 100 in june 1970 ive only got the betty everett lp on UNI..............miles better anywayIMVHO used to get played at virtually every "PITCHES" do circa 1994/95. i never missed one never really been a do in rotherham as good since. bout time those days came back dave

looks like a jamaican release to me from the type face. some calla releases came out on jamaican stateside.ive got jean wells "with my love"on stateside.i wish i could scan it and post it up but i aint got the knowledge yet dave

bernard williams went for nearly $600 2 weeks ago on ebay..... dont think its any commoner than say sam dees "lonely"or betty lloyd.john got £500 for sam dees other week didnt he? dave

roy haggins was a very good impersonator then. better than spyder turner IMVHO was it roy singing with the vows or another morris impersonator dave

not morris chestnut on the soundmasters .and it says his name on the record well it does on my copy any way. and whats that old saying."believe half of what you see and none of what you hear" .id sooner believe what my old 45s tell me rather than someone relying on 40 year old memories when they probably cant remember what they had for breakfast dave

youre my life is the "A" side of gonna find a true love. which while this sell for £150+ its only on the issue but its not rare. the demo is youre my life on both sides and is around £15. spread the news is the "A" side £20 for the demo and £25 for the issue. spread the news issue is rarer than the youre my life issue. youre my life made the r n b top 100. hope some of this info helps dave

was issued in 1970.they stopped doing black in the fall of 69 so i doubt if there is a black issue. the blue one is hard enough dave

i take it you need a copy of i can take it all. thought id give it a bump for you sorry i only have my own copy. i did sell a spare for £30 last year but its not common these days dave

hi all. yes working 12 hour days and working away from home most of the time means that i dont spend much time on soul source. also i dont have the knowledge about scanning labels and posting them up. i dont seem to have the time to educate myself in this way. i appreciate that some people dont use or have never heard of soul source. they dont know what they are missing. back to the job in hand.the scan marc forrest put up was deffo not right. i`m not saying marc did`nt have a real one for sale.but the scan was the same as my copy which as far as i know is a boot. the original is more orangey than bright yellow. the writing is not blurred. on this copy it was. also on this copy,look at the sunstruck logo. i thought there were three of them. on the other hand.it could be marcs scanner or better still I thought i had a boot and it may be a real one dave pinches of the pinches twins ( south yorkshires best kept secret)

im sure the vocalist on all the northern offerings was i guy called jay proctor jay traynor was vocalist on the early jay and the americans records but left for a solo career in 1963. "come a little bit closer" is not bad for a pop northern tune dave
