  1. it certainly is mark. ive heard better but ive certainly heard worse. i havent got my lp to hand but its on uk liberty from 1968 and also has run like the devil also done by kenny roberts on uk pye and a load of motown covers, all decent if memory serves ps lp on us imperial and well worth pickin up cheap dave
  2. its in johns price guide for 50quid but if you shop around you shud get it cheaper. for instance i bort one on ebay recently for $27. but in the last 12 months alone ive been beaten at least half a dozen times. but $27 for a nice clean issue is a steal in 2008 dave
  3. its the b side of release me. i grew up with it. my mums younger sisters were always playing it and dancing to it when i was a kid .................. i still love it and played it only last week at home while having a vinyl fix dave

  5. i take it this thread is about you are the one i love and nothing to do with dont take it out on this world.YATOIL was issued in feb 1968 and they tried their best to made a hit out of it therefore releasing a double sided demo as well as a normal demo to give it that bit of a push. just like barbara acklin and jackie wilson at around the same time.the follow up DTIOOTW in may 1968 sank without trace and the rest as they say is northern soul history dave
  6. no but i did see a poor mans white demo in that box that ended up coming home with me along with a tyrone thomas youre hardly gone on polydor dave
  7. i can remember seeing a usa issue in gary smelts boxes at pitches in 1995 wasnt anything like sixty quid...........nearer 20. probably not the same copy dave

  9. yes top detroit oldie. been around a long time and by that i dont mean 42 years dave
  10. one is a detroit press and the other is chicago. abit like the brothers of soul "i`d be grateful" scenario. both are original anyway the grey one is styrene with a ztsc stamp and the other is silver, on vinyl wth a moulded over label. just like the brothers of soul is orange on styrene and also red boo on vynil with a moulded label. quite a few more like them but BOS springs to mind dave
  11. my  interpretation of a hotbox dj is that he or she must be a self important berk with a very large ego dave
  12. certainly looks like an aussie or new zealand copy that one joe. ian clark has it on his list at £50 this week. it must be creeping up in demand and so it should. its that good imo. dave

  15. craig moerer had an albert jones on his site for $25 dollars. As for the sammy davis. It does crop up on ebay now and again usually goes for around the 25 euro mark dave
  16. fairmount stock copy much rarer though........... anybody taken much notice coz the lables look the same dave

  18. does appear to be quite a hard one to obtain...........anybody got a stock copy dave

  20. an original white demo only went for £300 on ebay last week....................we came 2nd dave
  21. also came out in the uk in 1978 on creole. made number 44 on the pop charts.i bought it when i was still at school but i still love it dave
  22. it was quite a big hit locally in detroit and made the national r and b charts. so maybe coz it made some noise. decca who bearing in mind tried to put out darrell banks over here via london tried their hand with it. maybe they thought they had the rights to it and thought maybe no one would notice............... can you see what im getting at altho i would have said france belgium or holland were more obvious choices dave
