  1. i bought my emotions from the collossus that is andy dyson for £20 some years ago and probably only had one other chance to buy it. In say the last 10 years ive had 6 oppotunities to buy lester tipton and its only because my pockets are not that deep that ive never owned one dave
  2. have you heard me and brian singing. it really would be pushing a great song to the limit brett dave
  3. What constitutes as rare these days? ive seen more lenny curtis. peoples choice and lester tiptons in the last 10 years than this. Or is it coz its not quite got the demand of any of the above records. dave
  4. can be anywhere between 75 to 150ukp.incidentally my fave version is the spyder turner lp track using the same backing as the monticellos but with a better vocal IMHO. although its just a good tune anyway dave
  5. also on a french tamla motown jukebox only white demo 45 as well as the EP dave
  6. nobodies mentioned `what have I got to lose `yet. this also came out twice but as far as i know the same take. anybody know any different. dave
  7. we all agree on the quality but what aboot the price........... surely not more than 40 quid for either label or am i behind the times on this one dave
  8. theres been 2 st tropez 7in in the last couple of weeks one went for 9 quid the other over 20 quid am i right in saying canadian only. i think richard tate is on canadian and uk abc. never seen a usa copy of either. both versions great and could be huge dave
  9. quite a few 12s on gemm even cheaper than that. the 7s a little bit trickier to find alternately theres richard tates original version on abc 7in theres a couple of them available and IMHO its a cracker and cheap too dave
  10. my brother was out with him last night in barnsley. all round top man and a bloody nice bloke dave
  11. greg perry is easy enough on 12 maybe 30 quid. but orig alfie davison 12 is very rare could be a couple of hundred dave
  12. morning swish hope you are well. me and my brother bri used to love coming to see you in your shop in york in the 80s and 90s and were never dissapointed with what i bought or traded with you. when you came to the earl of doncaster to do a spot it was a real treat charades seven souls chapter 5 and all that. very good days indeed. nothing changes much really, well apart from records being too dear. its been a pleasure to read your poems on this sunday morning take care mate best wishes dave (pinches twins)
  13. reckon you should sell me that willie tee back.......its got my name on it for christs sake got my name on as well. but as for selling..........it would be like losing an arm
  14. would that be an acrobat in the yorkshire dales.does it pay good money. seriously tho if i were you proph i would marry that sleeve up with a copy of maxines superior version, frame it and pop it on the wall.that would be nice to look at dave
  15. I can read pal. i just thought it odd that you would start rambling about maxine brown when the guy wants robert dobyne. dave
  16. i would agree with you there pottsy. i played it at york soul club last time i was there and its the side i bought it for in the first place. i was going to buy trev thomas`s (soulman i964) one sided acetate of IWTBF and then a chance conversation the same night got me a peaches copy instead. twice the price but at least i got 2 sides for the money dave
  17. probably £125 but its much rarer than the price suggests dave
  18. thats the copy i have. at least i got a copy from carl in the mid 90s. it may well have been on ebay. ive only been on 5 years and ive never seen one and none have ever shown on popsike. Looks to me like theres nothing between them. its rare either way dave
  19. the esquires must have been struggling for material. as bob says the solo stuff was done well before the lp. my mill evan constellation 45 is date stamped 5 aug 1966. a whole year before the esquires get on up was released dave
  20. also it took them 5 years to release my sweet baby on a 45 albeit on the flip of henry ralph .this is a shocking tune and you can see why action in the uk decided to flip it over. the esquires lp is well worth picking up. it should be cheap on ebay and every tracks a winner dave
  21. hi kev tony said in his initial post that IGTHYL sounded like something else or maybe there was another version.to my ears it sounds like the spinners i`ll always love you. I dont know of another version of mill evans . like you say chris hamilton/pierre hunt sound nothing like mill evans. then i was just pointing out that i like the flip of IGTHYL. this is on the esquires LP get on up. it plays the same take as the 45.hope this helps cheers dave
  22. cant ever recall seeing one on ebay on either variation. JM had an admirations on auction must be 8 or 9 years ago when he first started them. i think mick h and mick smith have aspirations. i think carl willingham got chris kings admirations a few years ago. apart from that ive never seen anymore for sale dave
