  3. dont you think that its alright on hem by the epsilons sounds a little like mad a the world........ go on have a listen dave
  4. worth a grand for the quality alone but maybe only 200 for the rarity. theres nothing between the issue and the demo
  5. another one for dj honky perhaps dave
  6. i thought it was 1972. even though terry wrote it i think jerry butler recorded it first. its on the 70s label design anyway. its three releases after the dells its all up to you. deffo 1972 dave
  7. last 2 0r 3 ive seen only went for the 300/350 mark. even jm only got that in auction recently dave
  8. the tune that reminds me of `tuckers feast` when it came to the village is mel and tims backfield in motion. also i remember certain prizes given away from stalls were MGM/VERVE/20TH CENTURY cut out 45s... i can recall winning lou christie `rhapsody in the rain` on mgm righteous brothers on verve some country music crap on 20th century which at 9 years old i just was`nt ready for dave
  9. i think the b side is the best side and should be played out more.whenever i seem to catch any of the guys who have it they always play `foolish girl`. incidentally there is a cd doing the rounds that has both sides on. not brilliant sound quality but the bootleggers have already had their chance as this cd is at least a couple of years old and you cant put anything past them dave
  10. last one i saw was £400. does roger banks still play it dave
  11. do you not think the tim harris is very mediocre.two labels as well eh. just an opinion mind. the chancellors on chamus is great but at £500 john will probably have it in the pine box with him. seen it on ebay for as little as £40. and two mates locally have picked it up even cheaper. in reality it should be no more than £80 dealer price. we should be seeing a few barbara masons on the market now eh.... dave
  12. the dutch rare earth copy is from 1975 to tie in with the uk 2nd issue. the dutch and uk tamla motown issues are from 1979. mowest bit the dust a couple of years earlier. i can remember seeing the TM issue in woolworths brand new at the time dave
  13. original on styrene has the delta stamp starting with a 5. i think the vinyl boot is also delta stamped but starting with a 9. anyone confirm dave
  14. i have a copy of this roger. i bought it for sweet way of living that is over a minute shorter than it says on the label. ive never played the flip.its quite nice .i think i prefer the piano mix but it only cost me a quid some years ago at leeds record fair so it dont really matter. i`ll have to dig it out and have a look. cheers for that dave
  15. only the 3 bids over 5000 dollars. ive heard of the said dj but have about as much chance of hearing him play as i have of winning the lottery. shame no one over here got it. dave
  16. I have james browns money wont change you on a nice white demo thats from 1966 but after that i cant seem to recall seeing any after that. the junior mccants 45 has ended now nearly 8000ukp wasnt it dave
  17. for a rare soul45 pete i think. im sure theres been beatles or stones related stuff thats gone for more do you think that the package will come over insured . im assuming someone in the uk won it dave
  18. thats the white demo compatriot to my old issue. the styrene copies are west coast. theres a vinyl issue and demo and a styrene issue and demo. i think the demo is worth a tad more but not a lot in it. bloody great record anyway still a lot of millage in it dave
  19. is the vocalist female on `i need a love` on hit. its certainly the same group as harry driver is behind that 45 as well. or did they use guest vocalists dave
  20. one of my favorites is jefferson `baby take me in your arms`on uk pye. for those who dont know he was vocalist with the rockin berries who did a good version of the four seasons `dawn` also on uk pye. really the list is endless and this topic could run all week on 60s/70s releases alone. we dont have to mention duffy/ amy winehouse etc.....................do we dave
  21. no smudge youve got that wrong there. dont know where you get the 18 months from. seeing is believing. the 4th disc was a shrine 45. I think it was the cairos but............. dave
  22. I love the spoken intro myself nick and its only on the varden release. also ive heard the sweet soul flip out early doors at northern do`s so does that make it northern soul. it does in my book and thats what i like about this broad church thats known as the rare soul scene. on friday night i played do this for me out. fair enough it thinned the dancefloor out a tad but one guy came bounding on the stage. he says ` what was that, its ....kin brilliant i thought it was the immpressions`. even though its cheap and available on philips as the lovers a lot of people still dont know it..if joes got any copies left they should be snapped up immediatley dave
  23. well done for pointing out the bleeding obvious bob.. the point i made was to joes original thread. weather this record required the status of an auction record. i never said it was super rare but it shows up over here less than some big money auction records. it looks like ive had more offers of lester tipton than you. and i will tell you something else mate. its a bloody better record than lester tipton. thats an ok record but very overatedIMVHO but then again if youre from the price tag equals quality school........ dave
