  1. chess did a series of reissues in 1969 on black and silver and rescue me/ i cant rest was one of them. catalogue numbers started at CRS 8090 I think. definately exists coz i used to have it. its the only time ive owned i cant rest. other issues were ramsey lewis wade in the water/ hard days night. tony clarke entertainer/ aint love good. there were other but i cant remember off hand and ive no books here dave
  2. also came out on the green belgian suprise label with a picture sleeve. that drifters 45 on the same label is also on belgian. as is the 2nd issue of major lance`s how can you say goodbye that previously came out on belgian contempo. john benson has the tams on belgian and soulful mick (wad) has the drifters on belgian. dave
  3. I can remember it being £25 in the mid 90s and both derek pearson and jim eddleston playing it at the wilton. i got one soon after that from blake hellewell and ive given it the odd spin over the years. not played it in a while tho its still in the box dave
  4. it also came out in the uk on probe. it made number 71 on the pop charts in the usa in march 1973 which is probably why there are a few variations around. the kiddies block abc design was only used in spring/ early summer 1973 as far as i can tell so while still originals they are at the tail end of this release. it must have been issued in a lot of countries. bought a french one for 50p blind over 20 years ago and never thought it would be deemed northern soul. still have it tho` dave
  5. 5 10 15 20 years of love came out in 1971 and was a top 20 hit in the usa on sussex prompting other countries to issue it. sussex was distributed by a & m and that was the logo used over here. it didnt chart but sold well. probably only worth a fiver. the LP is worth pickin up as it crammed with good dancers. your uk copy is an oddity. mine has the right labels on it. hope this bit of info helps dave

  18. 300 ish don. some copies are nashville matrix stamped some arnt but all original dave
  19. the BMR copy is open to debate. It sounds like it was taped from a dansette and it speeds up as well. one of the worst re-issue`s ever in my book dave
  20. issued twice on EEE with 2 different flips. the BMR release is a boot from the beach scene with poor sound quality dave
  21. money came out in early 1960. dont think he`d started up the motown label til later that year although i think marv johnsons come to me came out in 1959 on tamla and then united artists. i think he shelved the tamla label for a year or so after that before starting his labels out properly in autumn 1960 dave
