red and black is the typical label. ive never seen a blue one. wouldnt have thought it was a boot or reissue just another different colour paper they used. heard rumours about a yellow label but havent seen that either. £200 of anybodies money imvho

i came back from fort meyers in florida last week and brought 40 odd 45s back ranging from 40cents to a dollar. nowt spectacular mainly £10/15 tunes with a couple o £30 ers as well. like dave says, hard work but still enjoyable. that was my 4th trip to florida and sucess rate was the same everytime
dave
it surely must be someone who is non scene. i thought that anyone with a passing interest in northern would know how rare the original is after all the hype its had over the years

henry atkinson had one in his box for ages about 5 years ago for £40. i kept lookin at it and thought i`ll get that one day. then jm put it on auction and lo and behold . henry then sold his copy. around the same time geordie johnson got one from errol smoov for the same price. i dont think its every been a common record tho
dave
there are a few different variations of abc/abc paramount but lovers of northern of northern have a couple or 3 to go at and also the same amount for modern /70s lovers but non look like that. my main point is if you spend good money on vinyl you go out of your way to find out what the original looks like
dave
thats pretty much what i was saying cookie. it does make you wonder. only thing i can come up with is perhaps the 3 or 4 peeps bidding only discovered the joys of record collecting 2 weeks ago and started collecting northern last week
dave
dont think any of the four shrines up for grabs or that 2 plus 2 are anything to shout about. plenty of better rare 45`s to spend money on if you`ve got it
dave
but anyone wanting to spend money on records should really know originals when they see em. with small labels etc maybe the benefit of the doubt but with the majors.. stevie wonder should know the difference. f##kin idiots in my book

hi julian
i just go on ebay. com sign in and go to sell an item and then work thru it. i thought once you registered as i did thru uk ebay then you were registered with them all. ive sold some bits on ebay.com and never had to register again. hope that helps a bit
dave
when rca took over the rights of motown in 1982 they gave the gordy label its own imprint in the uk. they did this for about 5 or 6 years i think. theres lots of releases................... stone city band, debarge, el debarge, val young etc
dave
look at popsike. about 50/50 on there. people can talk all they want but popsike gives you a fair idea. quality as it is tho its turned out to be a really common 45 sadly
dave

not sure about that benji. when this 45 turned up in the uk in the late 90`s they were all vinyl issues. i got sick of people pushing them in front of my nose. also later on in the oakland find a few boxes of styrene mint issues surfaced and thats why the value really dipped. not because of ebay. i agree that the demo is not that rare because its a major label at the end of the day. but look at popsike. its about 50/50 on there. still a great 2 sider tho
dave
see what ur saying bro...................... more demos than issues on popsike ............ only just tho, but out and about see more issues in sales boxes
