its certainly a version of the old tommy dorsey/ frank sinatra big band classic but the singer sounds white to my ears. vince hill / matt monro spring to mind

issued in the uk as well in 1976 (tmg 1029). sold it recently on ebay for 99p.not a great seller in the uk but their last decent sized hit in the states.johnny manship has a nice uk demo for a tenner but there`s a few copies on the net
dave
i dont think there is any rhyme or reason for this. the blue tailgate demo is the first issue as it has an earlier release date but other releases from 78/79 period i think are only on green
dave
this was never issued on jayboy for the northern scene tho. it came out the same time or just after the usa copy. so its got as much right to be played on jayboy as dade. in the same way as darrell banks uk counterparts have to be played on stateside, red atlantic or yellow stax.......
pete probably wouldn`t buy it or play it tho.
dave
not wanting to split hairs with anyone but the first issue is july 1967. the other pink one came sometime between july 1969 & nov 1970. but its a safe bet to say it was originaly on catalogue for 3 years

i was at andy dysons house one time around 1993 he was working with tim brown around that time and listening to stuff he pulled out 5 copies of the ultimates 45 on broma. it had recently been on a goldmine lp with the piano intro missed off and i should imagine thats when it was on brownies front page. when i enquired about the price ....................£15 each. couldnt leave it, still have it
