  4. how i usually date the mgm stuff john. look at the catalogue number on the above item and just below it theres another number. this is the main number for all mgm/verve and related label releases . get your chart books out and you can pretty much pinpoint release dates from that if you havent got a date stamp on the 45:thumbsup: i make it sept/oct 1966 spyders is jan 1967 dave

  11. he does make sense 999 times out of 1000 to me. but on this occasion he doesn`t imo.no matter how many times i listen to the staple singers i still think its average and dull and never get to the end of it. to be honest. arthur miles version isnt that brilliant. either. in 1990, i bought that originally for the a side ` helping hand` which is still a top tune..mind u, i love the ultimates on b roma. i know sean is not as fond of it lol dave
  12. has been known to have the odd spin particularly in modern rooms some years ago where there was a cd player.( even by me ) heard it a couple of times in the main room . must have been off a carver or something tho. no real vinyl as far as i know dave
  13. bought both a way of life and arthur miles on 7 and 12 when they came out 20 years ago. i like AWOL the best. both version are better than staples singers IMVHO altho while that is a soul record its very dull and i love my modern and crossover tunage dave
  14. debbie taylor uk copy has the instrumental bit in the middle with the ` ooo loving you just dont pay` line repeated over and over chopped out making it a minute shorter than the usa copy
