  3. I`VE TOLD THIS STORY BEFORE BUT I`LL TELL IT AGAIN. IN 1987 I WAS IN THE ARMY ON LEAVE. I DECIDED TO GO THROUGH TO BARNSLEY TO THE TUESDAY MARKET. THIS GUY CALLED DAVE HAD A RECORD STALL ON EVERY TUESDAY. HAD A BROWSE THRU HIS BOX OF NORTHERN AND NEAR THE BACK WAS AN ORIGINAL UK BLACK HICKORY ISSUE OF BARBARA MILLS QUEEN OF FOOLS. I PULLED IT OUT FOR A GOOD LOOK. FOUR PRONGED CENTER, ANTI SKATE RIMMED.................£4. I THOUGHT FOR A MOMENT OR TWO. THEN PUT IT BACK. A COUPLE OF DAYS BEFORE I`D BOUGHT SOME 45`S FROM BILL PAYNE FROM THORNE INCLUDING A RED LONDON DEMO OF THE SAID 45.. I TOOK A PRECISIONS ON UK TRACK FOR £2 FROM DAVE`S STALL AND WENT TO ANOTHER STALL AND BOUGHT A FEW 70`S UK SOUL BITS FOR 50P EACH ( NATURAL 4, LOVES SO WONDERFUL, GLORIA GAYNOR THIS LOVE ETC...) THEN CAUGHT THE BUS HOME. I KEPT THINKIN ABOUT THE BARBARA MILLS AND IT REALLY PRAYED ON MY MIND. I THOUGHT NEXT WEEK I`LL HAVE TO GO BACK AND GET IT . GUESS WHAT......................................IT HAD GONE . SINCE THEN IVE SEEN A HANDFUL OF UK WHITE DEMO`S. 1 UK PINK ISSUE AND 1 UK WHITE ISSUE........... BUT NOT A PROPER BLACK ONE. I STILL THINK ABOUT IT FROM TIME TO TIME. DAVE THE DUMPLING
  4. i tried selling one for £120 in july/aug with absolutely no interest at all. so i gave it back to the mate i was selling for as he wouldnt drop it down. £100 might shift it. not as fashionable as it once was although its never been a biggie dave
  5. lovely flip tony. if this is goodbye. but then you probably know that dave
  6. the right prices on 2 quality 45`s imo.....no suprises really especially as they were in great shape dave
  7. it only needs mentioning if its styrene and has cue burn which is a bugbear with some people or an item that has been booted and the 45 need a bit more clarification. otherwise no need to bother dave
  8. he might want it for the flip......................vocal to like a rolling stone.. great imo dave
  9. great tune.and i`m very suprised there isnt one kicking around. also came out on belgian rak with a picture sleeve dave
  10. i dont know what all the fuss is about. when i had it in my hands all those years ago i never batted an eyelid. a rare yes but mediocre 45. im sure pauls only sold it coz it has no bearing on the direction he`s going in with his music. he would never play it and when he got it it was no where near the £400 mark dave
  11. i think you`d still get the lemmings diving in even without a scan on ebay. it happens all the time. sometimes they end up with egg on their faces. sometimes they get a result dave
  12. i have got no idea how to put scans up. i did try it once on the british label thread a while ago but failed miserably dave
  13. he does have it. he only lives a mile or so from me and he brought it up to me to look at a few years ago. its the only one ive ever seen. some of the prices being bandied about might have put him off selling it tho. wouldnt have thought it would be a spare but with paul anythings possible dave
  14. the uk copy that came out in the mid 70`s has a different sleeve...........pye distributed. i sold one for a tenner. dave
  15. it certainly is harry:thumbsup: dave
  16. just to try and even things up. i think debbie is better but at £1500 i`d have to think twice about selling mine. on second thoughts maybe not. but id have thought £6/700 maybe. certainly rarer than juans version dave
  17. 500 quid of anyones money. probably more on a good day dave
  18. mine came from a french funk dealer for £25 some years ago dave
  19. our brian played it at the chillout on sunday/ always packs the floor. never never girl is a top tune, george mcrae does a decent version on a tk lp also. dave
  20. did this come out on white demo in the uk. i know polydor issued white demo`s in 1966 but after that i thought they were sample /sticker on a regular shop copy. if it did i`d love to see it. white label test pressing maybe........... dave
  21. £50/60 DEALER PRICE...............PROBABLY CHEAPER ON EBAY STEVE DAVE:hatsoff2:
