  1. theres a lot of of good records that are dead or dying at the moment. oldies (sadly) always sell reasonably well and of course tunes that `name` dj`s are playing but pretty much everything else seems to be struggling to me. i agree with what people are saying. the price guides did us no favours and there many £50 to £500 booked 45`s that make half that on ebay and the americans list them at top end prices and will never sell em while they`ve got holes in their arses. you`d think that craig moerer, and the like, the times he`s had records on a buy it now loop forever going round that maybe thats not what these records go for, dave
  2. no but ive just checked my mail and ive had a pm from him and he says i can use it as its good promotion. luckey jamal davis.................bloody nice bloke dave
  3. yeh you`d think sometimes they would appreciate the promotion or publicity. next the guy will probably demand i send him the 45 itself.. any body else had any problems. i know lots of us put records up on youtube dave
  4. thanks for that bob. i`ll see how i go on with it dave
  5. hi all. anybody know anything about this. can an artist demand that a 45 of his be taken down. bearing in mind that the 45 is 40 odd years old. if there was an infringement would youtube take it down anyway. any advice ,tips appreciated dave
  6. i just thought that you might have seen this 45 years ago pete dave
  7. i think the bottom one is a later press. also 3 differnt flips, we`ve come a long way together, aware of love & far away places. dave
  8. i dont think they are boots or represses at all. i agree with you and richard. i just think that don had/ has some copies from way back when. my brother started this thread and he was just voicing his concern as we`ve had the sound impression one as well and the fidelity is a bit better on that one. don might have the plates for this 45 but it would be nigh on impossible to get the label right dave
  9. are you people really trying to say that the sound patterns one has only been done in recent years. i first saw one in 1990 so they are not `recent presses` don burdick may well have privately pressed them after the sound impressions one but i just think he had copies long before he was found. dave
  10. we have a birthday bbq at my house every year for me and brian. my house is only a terrace tho so i set a `big tent` up in the garden to put the decks and records in. so its more of a garden/house party....always been a runaway sucess dave
  11. i think bearsy`s on about levon & the hawks at this point dave
  12. thought the stimulation might have gone by now. 2 tremendous sides and a nice price dave
  13. i think the demo is a bit harder than stock copy on this .. demo £125 to 150 issue £100 and £400 for the other one although thats not particularly rare either. both fantastic pieces of music imo dave

  18. no thats a very rare west coast issue with a delta number beginning with a 6. ive had that. the box abc copy is common and it was a top 30 soul hit in late 1967 or at least in the morning was which is the flip. dave
  19. oh and this copy that sold for $7100 was vg ++ which as we know is virtually mint coming from the usa or should be dave

  22. I`VE TOLD THIS STORY BEFORE BUT I`LL TELL IT AGAIN. IN 1987 I WAS IN THE ARMY ON LEAVE. I DECIDED TO GO THROUGH TO BARNSLEY TO THE TUESDAY MARKET. THIS GUY CALLED DAVE HAD A RECORD STALL ON EVERY TUESDAY. HAD A BROWSE THRU HIS BOX OF NORTHERN AND NEAR THE BACK WAS AN ORIGINAL UK BLACK HICKORY ISSUE OF BARBARA MILLS QUEEN OF FOOLS. I PULLED IT OUT FOR A GOOD LOOK. FOUR PRONGED CENTER, ANTI SKATE RIMMED.................£4. I THOUGHT FOR A MOMENT OR TWO. THEN PUT IT BACK. A COUPLE OF DAYS BEFORE I`D BOUGHT SOME 45`S FROM BILL PAYNE FROM THORNE INCLUDING A RED LONDON DEMO OF THE SAID 45.. I TOOK A PRECISIONS ON UK TRACK FOR £2 FROM DAVE`S STALL AND WENT TO ANOTHER STALL AND BOUGHT A FEW 70`S UK SOUL BITS FOR 50P EACH ( NATURAL 4, LOVES SO WONDERFUL, GLORIA GAYNOR THIS LOVE ETC...) THEN CAUGHT THE BUS HOME. I KEPT THINKIN ABOUT THE BARBARA MILLS AND IT REALLY PRAYED ON MY MIND. I THOUGHT NEXT WEEK I`LL HAVE TO GO BACK AND GET IT . GUESS WHAT......................................IT HAD GONE . SINCE THEN IVE SEEN A HANDFUL OF UK WHITE DEMO`S. 1 UK PINK ISSUE AND 1 UK WHITE ISSUE........... BUT NOT A PROPER BLACK ONE. I STILL THINK ABOUT IT FROM TIME TO TIME. DAVE THE DUMPLING
