  7. ......well i suppose i was saying something along those lines..the candix and storm releases may stem from 1961/62 but the prelude one is a few years down the line 64/5 0r even 66
  8. i dont think the prelude copy is that early..it does have a delta stamp...ive sold mine so i dont have it to hand...1965 i think
  9. i`ve never heard the green version with extra stuff goin to this day tho dave
  10. i still think that demo you bought would set you back £75 bob if offerered in the uk.... i picked up a nice usa issue from a random local soul night for £1.50 in the 90`s.. sold for £20 a few years ago. like a lot of 45`s i could mention available 15/20/25 years ago but not seen very often today..all tucked away
  11. bob was this a hit of any size in chicago...just wonderin with all the variations and all that.. i realise that non are common with the possible exception of yellow copies with `lashawn` as these cropped up over here almost all beat up from time to time dave
  12. thats it then jimmie bo down to a tenner........john had 40 odd ..garry had 10...mick smith had a couple from john tim a couple from garry..they certainly wernt hundreds
  13. not rare at all bob coz most are probably in the uk..trickier than it used to be but not rare..even issued in the uk in 74..the usa 45 is from 69 of course
  14. i had your johnnie mae on big hit signed by her in her kitchen with tats...had it several years but couldnt keep hold of it..thought a mates need was greater than mine..good money but i wish i hadnt bothered
  15. just listened to the 12`s of al green full of fire & marboo what about love.. and the 7`s of carol williams love is you and touch of class love means everything..before that..milton & winston..patrick gammon when can i see you and a few danny williams hmv 45`s...........all immaculate
  16. i think the usa folk can listen just like we listen to theirs
  17. andy was workin for tim over 20 years ago and thats where andy`s copies filtered down from dave
  18. think maybe just a misspress russ......usually yellow copies with the right text in less than desirable condition that used to turn up....dont forget the green label too also misspelt..blue appears to be rarest
  19. oops thats twice i regret sellin summat
  20. me too nev...i`ve managed to keep some good uns but its the one you sell that hurt..its almost like losing an arm....most i dont regret but there quite a few i later think ` why did i do that`
  21. i know ive bored people with this in the past but i did swap my tomangoes and cecil washington for a vivien carroll on merben.. ..dont think ive told this one before tho..on a smaller scale in 1997 i went to rotherham on saturday just scounting about as you do and popped into that little record shop near the train station..back track..used to be run by snowy but someone else had got now and snowy had moved his shop to doncaster...the new guy always had a couple of boxes of soul stuff in and while i was looking thru spotted a duke issue of can you remember by rhonda davis. how much is this i enquired......£1 says the fella ..i knew the 45 but couldnt quite remember what it went like. but i didnt want to play it in the shop in case someone smelt a rat so i bought it and a couple more bits then left....now i knew i seen this record on lists in the past for around £15 so i thought result ......got it home played it and thought yeh its ok might have something..not brilliant tho. i ummed and ahhed about rhonda for a month or so but when another 45 i wanted came up it had to go. first night out in the sales box i took it down to the atheletic club in mexboro. where dave hugill came up and said how much for rhonda....err £25 says i...not seen one for a while...i`ll take it says dave. off he goes with his record..about half hour later dave box , who was guest dj that night comes up to me and says have you just sold this to yogi...yes i said thinking what a good salesman i am ............ bloody hell says boxy...pat brady just sold it for £150 today............... ...now i usually do a bit of groundwork but on this occassion i didnt  dave
  22. i can see it being pretty big in certain rooms....if i aint had plays already
