  1. looks like i could be on a hiding to nothing on this one..usually i do send them recorded if over a certain amount and registered if 100`s.. this was £100 and the guy has only 1 post on here...his post on my thread. i was caught on the hop and went off to work ..and the missus posted it for me and i had a bad feeling the moment she posted it and thought..shoulda sent that international signed for..looks like my gut feeling has turned reality...he`s a bit quick wanting a refund imo tho
  2. i sent it first class..thats all the guy paid for but after only 2/3 days he was asking me for a tracking/spedition number which i thought was odd and that i thought you only got with signed for but now he`s on about making a claim and its been 19 days since i posted it. is that a bit too soon ....does it smell fishy.
  3. ive done well thus far but it seems i have a 45 sent out 18 days ago missing in action ..foolishly sent 1st class to italy. will the proof of posting have a tracking/spedition number on it ..any help appreciated dave
  4. great detective work..its something i always wonderered also..the flip of ted wilson my aim is to please sounds like its gonna break into goodbye my love by the searchers to my ears too
  5. i think mick smith still has one but its broke ..i think he framed it and it on a wall somewhere
  6. think about it tho.....i know they look virtually the same but the fairmount stock is 20 times rarer than the demo
  7. as soon as the sax break kicks in frankie shouts `yeh`, the fairmount copy builds from there but the rouser 45 is edited from that point cutting the rest of the sax break out.. spoils it imo
  8. both the copies of tight 300 at £50 were two years ago...any one else got a white demo of tight 302
  9. there was one recently for £200 on here,,,realisticly £100 to 125 imo
  10. not surprised by that bully at those prices its giving it away imo.....never seen a stock copy
  11. seems to be a difficult one to track down these days,,cant remember the last time i saw one on a dealers list
  12. cheers chalks i thought it had
  13. see not rare at all lol ..seriously did this get booted a year or two back
  14. i think both his robbie lawsons played with a bit of surface noise..there was something wrong with em but cant remember now... he offerered me an insane amount of money for the new wanderers on ready ,i let him take it in the end wish i still had it though
  15. and probably twice the price of a volt copy altho years ago there was not a lot in it..never booted as far as i know and i think its only on the volt issue
  16. john tefteller had some brunswick demo`s for $30..check him out
  17. just general info in case you didnt know. this record reached no 29 on the pop charts in the usa so a few pressing plants were used hence the different typeface...it was reissued on capitol starline series in the early seventies all with the spoken monologue....the uk copy misses the spoken monologue and goes straight into the song dave
  18. no they were 100% expensive when they first turned up. the first time i saw one was a harrogate soul club with john manship..he had a copy. said he`d never seen it before..i asked him how much it was and he said £150. granted it was only a matter of weeks before people were buyin them for half that and less
  19. a mate just gave me a dusty box of 45`s from a house clearance..its full of pop stuff n crap.. but stuck in the middle was a copy of this on uk stateside..which is nice dave
  20. thankfully for every great expensive record theres an equally good cheap un
  21. the gold ones were done from the original plates that popcorn had...whether popcorn did them or someone else got hold of the plates and did them i dont know. but i do know that the gold stamped copies didnt exist before 1998, besides the actual vinyl is different even tho the orig plate was used and the type face is new. no one had seen a gold copy before 1998 then suddenly they were everywhere selling for £150+. i think a green copy had already sold for four figures by that time...whatever..there is only one original issue ..the gold one is a re issue, 2nd issue..boot whatever you want to call it..but its not `real` mind you in these days where people pay good money for reissues ( see tempests or comedy sale threads) does paying £60 for a gold one seem too extreme dave
  22. you bought that from me didnt you pete..four great tracks on it and a nice picture sleeve.................and rare
  23. its still ok bob..but it was much better in the days before price guides and ebay took off
  24. pye demo £25/30 i think col its books at more but probably go for less on ebay but you never know.. if your thinkin of selling ask pete smith he knows his onions on uk stuff
  25. only the once on pye international in 1971 with goin back to detroit on flip......only got the uk stateside lp of goin back to detroit myself now
