-
theres been 2 or 3 from other sellers on the strength of the big buck copy in early december but like you say the ferbia fella has put up quite a few and lets just say he`s not concerned about the 45`s welfare on another note the guy with all the stax/volt stuff has been puttin em on ebay again......paul thompson..charlene etc
-
not just him trev .......one or two more puttin up random copies. also .....i wonder if the guy that payed £600 for the first one is a bit pissed about it ps......i seen a dozen in last 2 months

Record Collections - Sell Now Before The Market Drops
Dave Pinch replied to MikeHinNewJersey's topic in All About the SOUL
ive had 75 45`s up for sale in the last week and sold 55 of em so for me the buyers market is alive and kicking...... maybe its about the pricing if its right it sells if its not it wont. records come in and go out of fashion some come back in some will never be back... once a price goes up folk are reluctant to see it come back down again. maybe the guides have done no favours in this and some will sit on a record booked at 100 til the day they die rather than part with it for less.. but every record will sell for the right price for many many years to come imvho -
i sort of understand what your saying barry although it is a bit disjointed.....there was a time when i thought i`d never sell a record thinking it would be like a death in the family.......now in the last 4 years ive sold more 45`s than john manship.....also for me the scene is totally different and not the one i first came onto years ago.. and to me we seem to be getting frogmarched into `retro `dom......this is one of the main reasons behind the sunday chillout that we do where we dont have any policies as such and getting dancers is not that important..its ok to dance but not the be all and end all......it needs to be kept fresh like in the old days of stafford etc. but on friday and saturday night it seems most of the do`s go thru the motions and for anyone puttin on a decent do..its a labour of love..........i`m startin to ramble now and maybe ive missed your point barry as i just looked back at your first post and you mention a central point of dancing and appreciation has changed.....today it seems to be all about the dancers ( who usually get up to the wrong records or tired records) and less more about appreciation

yes i would love to own the 45.....no hardship having a nice uk tml feelin bluesy original tho
-
i think it was on here john in one of the old foreign release threads..... someone on here owns it certainly but i`m buggered if i can remember who. it should be somewhere but i cant find it.. label design is like a usa motown map but its yellow as opposed to blue in colour
-
as graham said also originally on the feelin bluesey lp from 1968
-
issued as a 45 in the phillipines...yellow motown label
-
totally agree john.....ive done the 10,000 45`s lark and 4 years ago decided to downscale and get a few of the 45`s i always wanted to own...ultimately gonna scale down to 2 big boxes full......also i still got a few thousand general soul 45`s plus all me pop stuff..beatles, who, small faces etc....only got about 1000 lps and 12`s tho

i dont think theres a 45 joe......its on the unbelievable cd......chess recordings 64 to 69
-
certainly more harvey avernes than eddie parkers but as we discussed on the eddie thread every big boy dj with a little candy to spend seems to have one
-
rare demo ..never seen one
-
i dont think me and dean are disagreeing as such..not even sure why he replied to my initial post...its plain for all to see that both album and 45 are original....tho which came first is not so clear but they were both released around the same time....secondly....there will be a thousand or two copies of this and they have not all been found yet so theres every chance like any rare soul 45 that copies , even a box full could turn up. and third...central park as the previous single sold better as it does turn up beat more than clean...so i`m not sure which part of my earlier post is not true
