-
Levon + Hawks

Great, cheap & under rated track - 'Time' by The Mighty Clouds Of Joy on ABC

Magnetics-lady In Green
Legend has it that Bob 'Detroit' Foster from Llandudno had 3 copies and sold them in the 80s for relative peanuts along with the rest of his collection.

Drifters Pour Your Little Heart Out Epic 1979 7"
Their other one on Epic is worth looking out for - I'm Not That Kind Of Guy. Another dancer with a great chorus.

Craig Douglas - Dont Mind If I Cry
MMmmm not bad but average I think. His voice brought all those awful memories back. Sounds like a Jimmy Radcliffe song.

Craig Douglas - Dont Mind If I Cry
Cheers Mate. I'll do so in a minute, I'm just in the middle of listening to Bobby Thurston - Very Last Drop. NOTHING should interfere with that!

Craig Douglas - Dont Mind If I Cry
I've not heard this so I'll take the word of those who have and say it is good. But Craig Douglas was the epitome of a wimpy UK warbler who covered US hits badly, such as Only 16, 100 lbs Clay, Across The Street! Around The Corner & I'm On The Outside Looking In. He would have been more at home on the Woolworths label, Embassy.

Little Richard
Just a mention for the original version by Bobby Marchan on Dial. Great midtempo R&B dancer.

Tamiko Uk Contempo Played?
I was sorting out some cheap stuff to put on ebay and happened to play Tamiko Jones - Boy You're Growing On Me on UK Contempo (The brown & orange label). It's not bad actually, reminds me of the Bessie Banks biggie on Quality. Is it being played anywhere? Or can anyone suggest a value for ebay? It's ok, I'm braced for the ''don't bother' suggestions!

Trammps "stop And Think" (golden Fleece)
Anyone see them when they came over in the 70s? They appeared at The Stables in St Asaph! What a band, not only that but a great group of showmen too, that was the first time I saw anyone do the 'Robot' dance. Robert Upchurch was with them and I still recall his killer heartbreak version of the Gladys Knight hit, Part Time Love. Slim.

Leicester Oddfellows
I was a 'mature student' in Leicester in 80/81 and knew Ali from his record stall. Didn't Oddfellows kick off at the Saracen's Head in the middle of town? I remember Rev Tony & Ali DJing there. Rough town late at night but great beer. SLIM
