Hi Tony. If you've not had one yet, here it is. It's a preview copy though not a straight issue. Great as it is I prefer the Dean Barlow version! Value wise I dont know but it's worth more than a tenner, at least to me. Slim

I thought that too but this it is the Key Men Strings according to RM. Didn't Soussan record an instrumental as this?

Any idea who the male voice is? It sounds so familiar and it has been driving me mad trying to identify him.

Hi Richard. You're right you should have kept it! I found that copy in Florida. I originally bought 3 copies when I heard it for the first time in '87 when I was looking through records in the basement of Martin Koppel's shop in Toronto. I also came across a copy of the Prince Conley which I also heard for the first time there. They were cheap then! Mossy & Pete Griffin got a copy each of the Hawg I think. Still got my copy of that and the Prince Conley. Unfortunately I sold my Bobby Valentin, RDM Band etc etc that I found there. Martin had records everywhere, up & down stairs in his shop, up & down stairs in his house inc his 'Collection' room and in his out of town warehouse which was handily placed near to a topless bar. It is hard although I have had a few copies over the years. Sold the last one a few years ago for £75. Look out for his other R&B Pork flavoured 45s Hog Killin' Time on King & The Grunt on Fortune (probably harder than The Hawg).

I know it's Pookie that's why I put Poogie in quotes. But it's what's written on the label - featuring Poogie Hudson and it sounds like Pookie to me!
-
I've had this a while and just played it again recently. Great modern dancer IMO. B side of a 70s remake of Goodnight Sweetheart so maybe people might think 'Maybe' is a version of the Chantels song but it isn't. Features 'Poogie' Hudson. Is it or has it been played? Slim

Isley Brothers - Who's That Lady - United Artists
slimharpo replied to boba's topic in Look At Your Box
I have had a U.S. copy on UA. The vocals are similar to the 70s version but the backing is more R&B with an organ lead. It was produced by the great Bert Berns and I sold my copy through Ebay to Bert's son! It was also released here in 1991 on an EMI compilation CD. -
PM'd You
