  2. Cheers Steve. Sorry to hear about Gary. Horrible disease. Let's hope he'll fully recover. ATB, John
  3. And another one - A Suburban Town - written by Carl Spencer & Jimmy Radcliffe - What a pairing!
  4. Hi Steve. The very same! More soulful in my opinion. Written by Howard Greenfield who did all the hits with Neil Sedaka + the great theme from Bewitched! The Clyde LP is Songs Of The Big City which has 5 Jimmy Radcliffe songs and the best version of Shelter Of Your Arms IMO. Chinatown didn't come out on a 45 in the UK or USA according to discogs but may have elsewhere. 'Redstripe' doesn't want my LP (looking for a 45) so it's for sale at £45 inc postage. In M-/M- condition. Great & Rare LP if anyone wants it. John
  5. Don't know if it was your very accurate recommendation on this but it is sold!

  7. There is a nice article on www.guardian.co.uk when you get on the site tap in 'are you ready for a brand new beat' into their search engine. The article is dated March 2005 and commemorates 40 years since the first Motown Review landed here and names a number of the venues. Georgie Fame who had Yeh Yeh out had to be added to the tour because ticket sales were so bad! The article includes this quote 'one eye witnress records less than 200 people at the ABC in Chester'. I was one of those 200 (if that many) and had bought a cheap seat at the back but the MC came out and brought us all down to the front to add 'atmosphere'. Soul Sam was there and gave me a lift home! I still have the programme from the show which as you can guess was awesome.
  8. There's a great UK version by The Peddlers and Quincy Jones did a fair version on Mercury. Slim

  10. F***ed and got us by the bollocks just about sums up the current ebay/paypal service for sellers
  11. Thanks this is helpful. Funny but I've not had problems with the countries mentioned, mine have been with buyers from Germany & The Netherlands! I've no reason to believe they were being dishonest as the amounts involved were relatively low but it's funny that it has started happening since the new paypal rules. Cheers, Slim
  12. I've been selling on Ebay for years without any real hassle or lost packages. However, since Paypal have allowed buyers to claim thier money back, even though I could prove I sent records I have had 3 claims in a relatively short period. The latest claimant (they are all overseas!) waited 5 weeks before contcating me and asked me to invesigate, I said I would, however, the next day he filed a dispute with paypal who promptly deducted the amount from my account. His excuse was that his time to claim money back was running out! I know I cannot win so I said I would pay (even though I specifically asked this bloke if he wanted insurance when he won the record and he declined). Therefore I will have to charge insurance for overseas packages but I can't work out what is best to use and what is a fair charge. Can anyone help please? Also is it worth complaining to Ebay that the guy opened a dispute without telling me or giving me a chance to investigate with the Post Office? If so how do I do it? Thanks in advance to any of you who respond after having the patience to read this!
  13. In EX/NM condition. Great Modern Soul. £15 inc postage. Paypal taken. PM me if interested. Slim
  14. I agree. How many posts on Wants Lists want them 'cheap as chips' 'no silly prices' 'realistic' 'remember the credit crunch' etc for something dead rare that hardly turns up. I can't help but have a suspicion that they have a buyer waiting who's ready and willing to pay top whack.
