The record is like numerous others from that state -that could break through and obviously have northern soul appeal ,personnally dont like it at all -but im about 640 degrees away from northern soul these days so what do I know -one thing for sure -only my view and not based on whos bought it each to their own definetly as its a large melting pot -reminds me of that west coast tornados track that got through which I also thought was "not very good" loads of dance appeal -question marks over real soul content !! hello, Please let us know about this well in advance and ill try and get some fans to fly over to new york to support this,wanted to do the 23rd show but business committments etc but good notice would ensure some britis could perhaps come over-certainly know a few people who would possibly make the trip with me. BAZ A After a discussion with Melvin, we've decided to postpone the Steve Mancha tribute. There are some other folks in town planning a similar event and we want to avoid any potential conflict. I will post any details about the other event as I get them. We are planning to do another show later this year to help raise funds for a tombstone for Clyde.

jUST REMEMBERED POSSE DID SOME rEALLY FUNKY STUFF ON VIP ALONG WITH THE HEARTS OF STONE ETC -THE VIP logo got on the funky side quite quickly compared to its counterparts ,take somebody like me springs to mind re Posse -etc -my record room is currently under servere construction at the momment but when done i will deffo get in the volts and have a good look,loads on the tip of my tongue that i cant just name without looking through,talking of which what about the DETROIT STUFF ON VOLT ETC FROM THE SEVENTIES ?? yep good stuff Adam - so much stuff in this genre i cant remember if I got the brooklyn allstars from you[brilliant also] -in the batch -its good to see Shirley Caesar getting some plays also -I remember playing a inex amdrews track years ago on mocking bird and the purists threatening to hang me by the short and curlies lol,the ward singers etc are never off the decks at home along with the gospel travellers etc,nice to see good tunes which are immensly soulful coming through -remember at the casino lots of the funkier stuff got a good tuting to then half the soul nation stated picking it up on the side lol!! BAZ A Hi Baz, Yes I did give it a few plays mainly about this time last year, but only ever at the 'Move On Soul Club' nights in Coventry. Played Birmingham Spirituals around the same time and 2 or 3 years back was playing one or two other gospel bits that in the last few months seem to have suddenly become very in-demand! Stuff like Gospel Comforters - Yes God Is Real which I played covered up and only uncovered when I started selling up (which I'm no longer doing!!). There's some great gospel stuff around, the Martha Bass posted earlier blew me away and is simply outstanding but for me the big gospel record of 2011 will be this:
